I love that he gets to the point and doesn't do an entire speech just to give you a tip. Short, sweet, and to thr point. Love it. Not a lot of nonsense.
I'm loving your New Year decision to keep it simple and do tutorials. I'm interested in the "Makeup How To's" and not the drama with those other Influencers, so thank you! You Rock Wayne!!!
He is a real MUA but those other RUclips so called "beauty gurus" are basically selfthought and with zero knowledge about all makeup and how things must be properly used. They can't teach people and show tips and tricks like actual MUA
Melissa Huff My comment was meant more in a general way. The last two instructional videos he's made have been filmed with the camera at about this same distance from his face. It's not really much of a problem with this video, but (as an example), if he makes a video discussing specific eye techniques it would really help if he zoomed in so we can better see and understand what he's doing. I also like to have a bit of a closer view so I can see how the products work and blend with the techniques he's teaching us, how he's working his brushes, the way he works different colors, and stuff like that. It's kinda hard to see those things from further back. Considering that he's used a similar camera shot for the last two videos, I thought I'd voice my request just in case. No hate meant in any way, I'm just really enjoying these new videos of his and don't want to miss anything :)
I don't normally comment but I just wanted to say what a lovely man you come across as. You've mentioned negative comments before now - I don't know why because you are a pleasure to watch 😊 I don't watch tv, just you tube, am disabled so don't get out & I just wanted to say that I may not comment but I love all of your advice etc; You are a gent - not many about these days. Thankyou for all of your 'hints & tips' take care xxx
You always have great tips. It's refreshing to have someone do more than just product reviews, product reviews and more product reviews. They're nice to have, but honestly, makeup tips like these are what I love to see!
Slay Or'Die I always go over my over my eyeshadow primer with a nude eyeshadow to set it and then go in with the colours. It does help the eyeshadows to go on nicer and not skid.
Wayne, I’m so happy you are back to giving us tips and tricks! I did this today and after a 13 hour day that ended with a workout my eyeshadow still looks great! THANK YOU! You are my favorite MUA!
OMG....I have been struggling with my eyeshadow staying with me and giving me the coverage and blending ability I think I should be getting with my luxury brand shadows. This worked like a charm. Sixty years old and I am finally figuring it out LOL. Thanks Wayne!
Adding a drop of oil to my foundation before applying has been one of the BEST makeup tips you have ever taught me!! I typically don't use eyeshadow, however, when I next do I will try this technique! Thank you, you make me feel beautiful!
You are the true teacher for makeup artistry from the youngest to the oldest, I don’t understand why you don’t have 10million subs. I watch your videos every time you make them. Rock on my friend! Hugs and ❤️
Spreading the primer around with a sponge or a brush really helps if you have crepey lids otherwise you get holes in the pirmer which will cause holes in your eye shadow by the end of the day. I love the idea of putting the foundation over it. All the primers that work on me are clear so I don't get any coverage from them. Thanks, Wayne. Also: PS, recently got the Gossmakeup MaqPro kit from PAM in the UK and I love it. It's so huge! I'm going to have creme foundation for the rest of my natural life.
I have to tell you that I tried this technique this morning, and WOW! The women I work with kept asking me about my eyes. I actually forgot what I had done and when I checked in a mirror, I remembered what I had done differently. Not only did my eye makeup go on with more ease and lasted all day, but somehow it made me look younger! Thank you so much! I really enjoy your videos.
Oh thank you, will try this today. I’ve noticed a bit of patchiness on my lid so hopefully this will correct it. I’m with the lady’s suggestion below regarding the close up being more close up. Would make it so much easier to watch what you do 👍🏻💜
For years just put foundation everywhere, including my eyes. Then, a Sephora assistant convinced me to buy the UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging & the YSL Primer to go with my foundation. So I stopped putting foundation on & around eyes & just put eye primer. Ever since I've been struggling trying to get a unified look. Now I know better ! Merci Wayne xxx
UGG I used to do foundation on my eyes. Stopped because of so many "experts". lol Now realize why my eye makeup never looks as good. Just used UD primer potion, and found this trying to figure out why my eye looks weird. We had it more right before. I love him so much. I either learn something, or he talks about my old way. I'm just like I knew it! lol
Thank you so much Wayne! I'm a 43 year old makeup junkie who has struggled with eye primer. I have tried many high end brands and while I continue to use it 75% of the time, I hate the way it was always so "tacky" and grabbed color so much it was unblendable! I can't wait to try this tip in the morning. Knowing how you're always right on, I think you solved my problem! I just adore you! 💋
I have bad allergies for 3 years now where my eyes waters sooo bad and always messes up my makeup. I tired every high end low end waterproof product concealers primers everything nothing worked, my eyes watered and my makeup was messed up!!! That was until now I am sooo happy I stumbled upon ur video!! I do this combination and it actually works I still feel my eyes water but my eyeshadow doesn’t budge!! I’m soooo happy yay!!!! Thank u soo much!!!
This is great! I have such a hard time blending with a primer! Cant wait to try this! Thank you for the tutorials again, I love your simple, short, professional approach.
This is the best tip I've ever got! I'm 57 with droopy oily eyes! This tip works!!! I've been applying eye base cream as instructed and it works! Thank you Wayne!!!
You always have the most helpful tips. No apologies necessary for the strobing. Didn't notice a thing. I sincerely appreciate your contributions to makeup arts. ❤️
Thank you Wayne, you are a star. I've just tried eye primer for the first time and had exactly what you described in that I couldn't blend my eye shadow to save my life. I was massively disappointed and thought I'd wasted money but now I know what to do about it.Thank you so much.
Having just uploaded for the first time I have to once again stop by and worship at the MUA altar that you sit upon. I have learned so much from you in the past month that has made me feel so much more confident in what I do. I couldn't help but mention some of the things I learned in my video. You're that good, which I am sure you know. Thank you for being so universal in your delivery and technique, it means more than you know. Smooches™
I am so glad you are doing these types of videos again. I learn so much from you! Bonus your videos are short, sweet, and to the point! I don’t have to watch 20 minutes of nonsense to get to the content I want. Thank you for that! You are seriously my favorite content creator.
I did a big decluttering and unsubscribed all the other MUAs but I'm sticking with you. Your videos are compact, informative and sincere. I really love and appreciate your work. Never change! ❤️
Your tips are invaluable. I have been putting on my concealer just as you had suggested in your last video and it has made a HUGE difference in my eye look. I no longer have cakey undereyes! I can't wait to use this tip because I always put on my foundation then my eye primer then powder. Thanks for these great videos. I love that your aim this year is providing tips and tutorials for your viewers.
I also am a fan of this technique! My skin is fairly dry and my eyelids look cakey after a while, so I started applying the primer under concealer and powder for about 6 months now. Love the results ❤
Youre one of the few mua on here that I actually take seriously and dont feel like you're just doing this for fame & money. I actually respect you and think you have real talent. Ps I LOVE your hair!
You are so awesome!! I love watching your tutorials. I’m definitely going to use your tips. Thanks so much for your hard work and for freely helping us. I so admire you for how sweet you treat your mom. She is so blessed to have a son like you!
I love you for having the BEST eye makeup tutorials! I have hooded eyes and a few of your past tutorials have been serious game changers! Thank you so so much!!
Aha, so much fun. I am transitioning from doing my complexion first to Doing my Eyes First. It is all so relative and fun. Tonight I am practicing an eye look. I put on eye primer and set it with an eyeshadow. I am laughing at how different it is watching beauty videos while doing a random practice look over watching videos just because I feel like watching videos. I bought the Viseart 10 warm mattes because there were several light colors in it and it matched the Subculture and Modern Renaissance. I blended and blended one of the lighter warm mattes over my eye primer. I'll cut it short here. Your comment section is not my blog, but I love you and your content and your style(s) of delivering your content. And I think that I am in love with Viseart too.
I love all of your tips especially this one.. I was having issues with having sticky primer eyes because I was doing it backwards .. concealer first then primer .. this technique really improved my issues .. Thank you 😍
This is why Wayne is so popular, straight to the point and no waffling about pointless stuff that nobody cares about. Thank you Wayne Goss great NY decision 👍🏻
I have been applying foundation primer, liquid foundation (CG Queen), powder, eye primer and eyeshadow for years! No creases ever! Even at 57! Last 24 hours! You are the first MUA I began to watch on RUclips years ago! Your tips have been priceless! I love your short and to the point tutorials!❤️
I’ve often wondered about putting my foundation on top of my eye primer before I set it, but you’re the first person that I watch to mention this tip. I learn so much from you! I just bought one of your face buffing brushes from Beautylish and I can’t wait to get it! :). Thanks for all the tips!
I randomly tried this once and saw a HUGE difference! So im glad to know that it is the best way to do it! its definitely wayyyy better for blending, giving a seamless look across the skin as you mentioned, and you still get the benefits of the primer. woo!
I just love you! I love the fact that there's no drama and no BS. Every time I watch you I learn something. Thank you! (Ooh and I bought your brushes...all I can say is thank you for making quality items!)
yeah I started doing this...putting the setting powder on top of your eyes before your foundation does miracles...I can tell the biggest difference if I don't...the softness and silliness of the setting powder makes it go on so easily, it just glides on and the way it blends your eyeshadow is amazing...it makes blending your eyeshadow 10 times easier!!! I started doing this after I watched eyeshadow tutorials and they recommended putting loose powder on your eyes before and it was the best advice I've gotten from all the beauty videos I've watched!!
Your tips are great! I've always done this (just started using primers recently but the foundation and powder on first was from my Mom 25 years ago) but then watching the YT beauty "gurus" I stopped. I started doing it my way again but with the eye primer like you do and it's WAY better! Thank you
I kind of mix the concealer and eyeshadow primer together (:P) I never reach for primer unless I want to make sure that the shadows will stay put whatever I do. I directly apply my concealer (which is practically my same skin tone) only for cancelling the redness and the little purple veins on the lid, then translucent powder or any powder and then the eyeshadow (like I show in my videos). Thanks a lot for this new technique. Love your explanations a lot! They're very short and precise. Whether you explain a new technique or a "tutorial" (instructions) you cannot do wrong following them.
Love your tips and advices! I have always put my concealer underneath first, then primer and lastly powder before doing my eye look. Started doing this because the powder gives a smoother transition between shadows. And I did not like my skin showing through the eye look, it was never a blank canvas without putting concealer or foundation. Not sure if there is much of a difference switching around the first two? But might just give it a go to see If there is. Thanks for all your tips, have learnt so much from you over so many years!! One of the few RUclipsrs with actual makeup tips and someone who still stays true to your channel as you did way back when I started following you. Keep it up!! 🤗
Hi Wayne, This is how I was taught in 1982 by our amazing German Esthetic instructor Dagmar at Vancouver City College I could never get away from doing this even with the addition of primer. This was back in the day when Estheticians had to go through a licensing exam. Thanks for another great to the point video.
Wayne I ❤️ u hard!! Your videos are amazing. As a nurse and new youtuber you are giving me all these makeup pearls for everyday life and I’m like yessss Wayne yesssss! Keep up the awesome videos 😘😘
I've just watched this video and this trick is great. I tried eyeshadow primer with concealer and it definitely works. Thank you for all the help you give us :)
Thank you for this game changing makeup tip! I used it tonight for my date night makeup and it looked flawless. I've actually noticed a lot over the past year where the eye look looks disconnected from the face & I feel so crazy for not figuring this out prior! Amazing video as always! xx
I do this quite often not sure if its on purpose. but I do powder the heck out of it. It makes blending literally a piece of cake! Thank you for this! I cant believe many who do apply makeup often havent done this yet. I dont do mine everyday but I was learning quickly when I did wear makeup for about a month straight (maybe a few days not) and I am experienced of 15 years. I also noticed a more textured skin! Makeup isnt meant to be worn everyday. I did wash it off as well.what an awful thing to happen. makeup is so fun!
Wayne, you are truly a light in my otherwise dull week! Great tips, thoughtful insider insights, and most importantly, I love your perspective on life and beauty! Thanks as always!
p.s. I would have never thought to add any kind of powder over primer, for the reason you mentioned. My assumption was that primer helps the color “stick.” Good to know!
Absolutely excellent make up info from the true MUA, Mr. Goss. So nice to watch a to the point tutorial with no hidden agenda or a bunch of goofing around. Thank you sir!
I already put foundation over my eye area, but I have been doing it before primer. This makes a lot of sense, and I am going to try priming first tomorrow when I do my makeup. Thanks for the tip!!
I am so glad to have u yt, I take all your advice and apply to my real life makeup applications. Get to steer me wrong thank you so very much for being trur to Who You Are.
Thank you so very much. I didn't know why eye primer was not working for me and your suggestion made it work. I was putting it on after my foundation and concealer and it would pill up and make my lids super crusty. I tried putting my primer on before everything else this morning and it worked like a charm. Thank you again!!!!
I'm really enjoying your videos. I think they will help me look better on camera since I just started a RUclips channel myself! Thank you for all you do.
I always set my eyeshadow primer with a skin tone or white powder shadow depending on the result I want. I try to choose the "setting shadow" from the same pallet/collection as the shadows I plan on using for the actual finished look. It seems to help with blending and makes the overall result more cohesive in my opinion, but I'm sure it doesn't always matter. Anyway, nice video, Wayne! You are one of my favorite makeup artists! Thank you for your hard work, creativity, and content!
I completely trust you, Wayne! Thank you- I’ll try this technique tomorrow. Question: if one were to “number the order” of what to apply first, second...and so on...what would it look like I wonder? For the best results for a very beautiful look...?
Yes, I do that even before watching this. I prime and than use a translucent powder over it. Thank you, I thought I was the only one who does that…can’t explain it but it works for me when doing my clients makeup.
That's what I have been doing and your right it looks really great and it truly last all day long. The blendability of shadows becomes really easy to do!
Love your tips!! So helpful!!Please one time just make a vlog one of your days ,go to work, or at the Weekend! I really really would like to see that! Youre such a positive and karismatic person! Love watching you!
I love you Wayne!💕 I’m in the states and this winter has been HARSH on my skin. Can you please do a video on makeup application for dry skin?!?! THANKS😉
I bought the Ester Lauder based on this video, an YOU ARE SO RIGHT! It's fabulous. Clinique Tinted moisturizer done me wrong, so I switched. So glad I did!
Thank you Wayne! I know, this video is ages old and I've subscribed to you for years but I don't keep up. I'm a bad subscriber. However, I am a GRATEFUL subscriber because the struggle is real with this issue. I have had a hell of a time with my eyes and primer and concealer and blah blah blah lately and now, all is well. xoxo
Never tried the cream/liquid over the primer but I've always set powder on top of my eye primer, so everything would blend smoothly. Definitely going to try this tip, thanks Wayne! 🤘
I love that he gets to the point and doesn't do an entire speech just to give you a tip. Short, sweet, and to thr point. Love it. Not a lot of nonsense.
same!!
Dude, I was just thinking that.
I'm loving your New Year decision to keep it simple and do tutorials. I'm interested in the "Makeup How To's" and not the drama with those other Influencers, so thank you!
You Rock Wayne!!!
Debi D me too! So tired of those ultra dificult make up
I also agree. This is what I want to see, not gossipy nonsense!
he's been that way for ages
He is a real MUA but those other RUclips so called "beauty gurus" are basically selfthought and with zero knowledge about all makeup and how things must be properly used. They can't teach people and show tips and tricks like actual MUA
Patricia Janson I totally agree. All the Influencers do the same stinken eye looks and always the same colors, it drives me cRaZy
Can you zoom in just a bit when you are working on your face? It makes it easier to see what you're doing/talking about. Loving these new videos!
Yes I agree
Overcomer247 for this one he explains it pretty well. What did u need to see closer? Just wondering.
Apologies, will make sure I do in future. Sorry xx
Wayne Goss Thank you! :)
Yay to the skills videos. I’m so done with youtubers stupid clickbaits. Love wayne

I ❤️ Wayne’s videos as they are shorter then others useless Intro’s
Lashlove16 Yesssss..👍👍
Agreed
If I could 'like' this comment 100x, I absolutely would.
phantomkate6 awww thank you
Exactly!!!!
Can we see a demo when eyeshadow is applied after this technique?
You always have great tips. It's refreshing to have someone do more than just product reviews, product reviews and more product reviews. They're nice to have, but honestly, makeup tips like these are what I love to see!
I just started powdering my eye primer/concealer because the eye shadows were not giving me a color payoff on my skin. Great to hear this tip!
Slay Or'Die I always go over my over my eyeshadow primer with a nude eyeshadow to set it and then go in with the colours. It does help the eyeshadows to go on nicer and not skid.
No wonder I'm having such a hard time blending!

Wayne you are fabulous keep being who you are.Love your short and to the point tutorials!
I just want to thank you for all the non-drama beauty tips! I find they work wonderfully if they are appropriate for my age!!!♥️
I have been doin this for a long time, the primer to work as a base, then concealer and then setting with powder
Rach Maninoff I do the same thing for years.. ✌️💜
Rach Maninoff concealer or liquid fundation? What is better?
So you use setting powder, then eyeshadow?
Or do a neutral eyeshadow shadow powder for the powder?
I am going to try this and want to get it right
Setting it with foundation liquid or powder.
Guadalupe Henriquez i use concealer
Adding a drop of oil to my foundation before applying has been one of the BEST makeup tips you have ever taught me!! I typically don't use eyeshadow, however, when I next do I will try this technique! Thank you, you make me feel beautiful!
Amazing tip Wayne! And you're hair looks so good here!

I agree with u 100%. I’ve been using this technique almost 3 years from now. This is the best way to look flawless
I'm so glad you are back to doing the kind of videos you like! Thank you for your time and your tips!
I do it this exact same way!! I am so glad Wayne gave this tip cause I thought I was doing it wrong, but it just makes the eyeshadow so flawless
Thank you for being so kind xx
I've been doing this for so long, my friends thought i was silly for doing it 😅 its literally the best thing ever!
i've tried this trick, totally works. And you look WONDERFUL Wayne! I love your hair that way and you just look really healthy and happy :)
I love these short, sweet, concise, digestible, beautiful bits of wisdom. 💙
i love how your videos go straight to the point.
Thank You for getting straight into your videos wayne, your one of the most unique, pleasant artist to listen to
Thank you for this game changing makeup tip!
I did wash it off as well.what an awful thing to happen. makeup is so fun!
love that you're getting back to technique vids Wayne!! keep it up :) its what makes your channel shine and be different
Thanks for going back to tips and tricks. I've been using just eye primer and then shadows. I'll def try this. I love things that work on all ages.
Wayne u r a fountain of helpful knowledge. Don't ever stop. We need your help! 💜
Oh my goodness! I’ve been having trouble getting my shadow to blend. It’s been sticking heavy in places. I tried your tip and it works! Yes!
Wayne I love your “favorite products” but you’re the real queen of tips. I learn so much! Thank you!
I tried this technique, i got great results. Everything melted together in a really good way. Very cohesive. I love it.
These short targeted no fuss tips are fantastic...keep it up Wayne!
I live that you've come back to doing these types of videos. Thank you sir!!
One of the best legit MUAs. You're up there with Lisa Eldridge and Kevyn Aucoin!
That actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks, Wayne!!! I wish all the Waynes in my life were as lovely as you. x
I love that you are doing makeup tips more often. I will try this...thank you very much for this!
I just found your videos and was blown away by your content. I learn so much from watching. THANK YOU!
I adore how you explain why it works instead of just showing the technique
I love you Wayne!💕 I’m in the states and this winter has been HARSH on my skin. Can you please do a video on makeup application for dry skin?!?! THANKS😉
I bought the Ester Lauder based on this video, an YOU ARE SO RIGHT! It's fabulous. Clinique Tinted moisturizer done me wrong, so I switched. So glad I did!

Beauty By Anne-Marie Kudos to you too. I only watch Wayne and your channel. 👏
Liz Liz Thank you so much that is a wonderful compliment!!! Lots of love to you xoxo
Beauty By Anne-Marie You're AWESOME! Thank you:)
Thank you Wayne! I know, this video is ages old and I've subscribed to you for years but I don't keep up. I'm a bad subscriber. However, I am a GRATEFUL subscriber because the struggle is real with this issue. I have had a hell of a time with my eyes and primer and concealer and blah blah blah lately and now, all is well. xoxo
You are rockin’ it!! I’ve been a klutz with makeup from day one. You keep me from embarrassing myself! Cheers & best!!
Short and sweet instructions. No dragging speech. Thanks!
Never tried the cream/liquid over the primer but I've always set powder on top of my eye primer, so everything would blend smoothly. Definitely going to try this tip, thanks Wayne! 🤘
