Happy makeup looks. 💋💄
Hahaha yes!
This comment is EVERYTHING! 🤗❤️🌸
we love an actual makeup artist that gives unique tricks
celena gostavo right!!!!
My Mother & Grandmother were Makeup Artists and what you just showed is some of the old school things I was told. As well I was told to dab only the remainder of what's left on the blush brush to each side of the high points of the forehead, the highpoint of the chin and lastly hardly anything to the tip of the nose. I use to think it was their way of contouring but it wasn't it was to give synchronicity to the total face. Funny I've never shared that in any comment, never heard any other MUA say it and I've always done it. Thanks for making me feel like maybe they did know a thing or two... lol. xo
Thank you for the tip Xx
Cindy P thank you for sharing your family story with us!
My niece told me about the blusher thing ... always do it now
I do this too and I don't remember whom I learned it from...it keeps the face so natural but beautiful too. one of the most fave tricks 💙
thank you for sharing :)
Adding blush to your eyelid works because you are mimicking the dilation of blood vessels, matching that colour in the cheeks to another zone where we naturally see the colour of our blood vessels through skin, the thin area around the eye. Weirdly good vasodilation is one of the keys to natural beauty lol. Blusher mimics healthy blood supply.
Interesting!
I regularly use my blush as base eye shadow and get compliments. But artist friend told me it has more to do with my eye color looking God with pink shades
I have used blush on my eyes since the early 80s, nice to know it was right:)
Spot on!
What if you have black skin?
This is honestly the best beauty channel
He doesn’t get enough credit- he actually *teaches* us useful and REALISTIC techniques
TheCrazyMango82 I agree and I’m so shocked that almost 300 people have disliked this
YES
Yasssss! It's so true
Exactly. I don't follow anyone.. but I will follow him.
YESSSS!!! He’s a great teacher that’s for sure! Plus gives an educated explanation as to WHY you do it one way or the other. I like getting that information personally. Little facts like that go a super long way and he’s the master! Always makes it look effortless and flawless while bringing attention to your best features! Love it when class is in session with Professor Goss!...lol
I appreciate that Wayne isnt just showing how to apply makeup or create a certain "look". You can tell he cares about making women look the best for their features. I'm tired of beauty gurus because they all look the same. Wayne is about bringing out natural beauty and I really appreciate that.
MsSpeakmymind and he actually explains why he’s doing what he’s doing.
He cares about making PEOPLE the best for their features* 😉❤️
He's a legit makeup artist, unlike those "beauty gurus"
Very well said 👌
Yeah it's like and actual tutorial and not just playing with colours !
I deleted my comment by mistake because I'm an absolute idiot. To summarize it: yay! One colour and that's it! It's so refreshing in the glittering world of cut creases, highlights everywhere and twelve different transition shades! I mean, this must be what the vast majority of people do when they wear eye makeup, so we might as well learn how to do it the best way possible!
I agree so much
Cali Lovett all I do is one or maybe two colors. Who has time, unless that’s your job, to do four and five colors
@@chidenisee Yes, same!
@@chidenisee yes! Same here!
I use a transition colour a lighter colour (inner corner) main colour n darker colour on the outside so at the most 4. I dnt do makeup to look better i just loovee art n sometimes i do a whole look at 2am wen my baby is in bed 🤣

Love the closeups! Thanks x

Him and Lisa Eldridge. Love them both.
He DOESN'T complicate makeup. Not don't
You should check Andrea Ali, she is incredibly professional and sophisticated:D

I can totally see how and why people would buy his brush set that is the same price as Kylie Jenner’s Brush Set.... Wayne is legendary he is a makeup king he goes out of his way to do these tutorials for us and he knows his shit he’s been doing this for years so I would respectively buy his brush set... Kylie on the other hand is a kid she is not a makeup artist she is an entrepreneur I would not give a dime to her. Wayne started at the bottom and worked his way to the top
I've been watching a few reviews, and some of my most favourite "guru's" recommend his brushes above most others.
I have quite a few of his brushes and they are absolutely wonderful! Best brushes I own.
@@ToniaMaitland If I wasn't such a broke college student I'd be all over those brushes but usually it gets to the end of the week and I'm scrounging for change to put gas in my car so I can't afford them. I hope to get them in the future because I'm working towards makeup in film so I'd love to be able to have nice brushes for the talent.
I own most of his brushes as well as several other brands (brush addict) and Wayne’s are hands down my favorites!
90% of beauty gurus these days arent real makeup artist
I’ve suffered from a stroke when I was younger and my right eye is very problematic so again ty for this. I think now I will be able to do it correctly on my problem eye. ♥️
Everytime I watch your videos Wayne, I learn something new and I've been in the business for nearly 20years. I walk away feeling like I have just finished a lesson with one of the best in the industry. You are so very generous and kind with your videos and the wealth of information you give to-mostly- strangers. A lot of people can't afford to go to a workshop or masterclass and you are the *only one* teaching from the kindness of your heart, and not charging 100s and 1000s for your knowledge! (Let's be honest, I would still keep watching your videos even then) That makes you -not only- an inspired, respected, top of the game artist, you are an incredible human being. Hope you get to read this message and I hope you know how grateful and inspired I am and how much you and your posts are admired and loved all over the world 💗👄🌹🏆🌟🤴💋👀 Luv U Wayne!!!!
that's the blush trick they taught us in makeup school (: it works wonders!
Thank you so much , that is so simplistic, but obviously very important. Why would anyone thumbs down this video is beyond me. Just thank you so much Wayne❤️🌸🌸🌸❤️
I just found your channel and I’m obsessed. It really helps me apply makeup more properly because you take us through the products, where they should and why
He even say the colors right! Unlike other youtubers call colors like Hot pink, Fuschia pink, creamy rose gold. And here is wayne calling it Magenta. He is a real artist
I love that tip about tying the blusher into the shadow a little. I do that now. I use a taupe-y brown shadow and a dark brown liner. It was sort of like two counties. Here's the taupe county, where the browns live and here's the colorful/blush county. The continuity was just what was needed. Thank-you.
I'm always blown by how useful and life changing his techniques are
Feeling extra special because I've always done the blush on the eye crease trick...\o/
Yes ma'am lol I have done that for years
nisenise41 Me too!
Absolutely! I've been doing it since the '70's but they also said I was a little ahead of my time back then😂
Amazing technique Wayne I love it because i really dont know how to place it correctly. More eyeshadow please tutorial txs 😍
Thank you Wayne for being so thorough in your explanation. As always you are brilliant with a brush! Love you always ❤❤❤
That bronze application really makes your eye colour pop! Thank you for sharing your knowledge... I'm learning so much.
What an incredible tip! I swear, I've been wearing makeup for at least 37 years, (yes, I'm 50!😬) and I swear I've never seen something so simple and not stressful AT ALL. I swear, the majority of the makeup tutorials stress me out. 🤣🤣 But, I love your simplicity. ❤❤ And it's a gorgeous look!! Thank you!!❤❤❤
It's the same for me. I'm 41, my days of standing in front of the mirror for an hour to apply makeup are over. I just want makeup to enhance my features, not a whole new face. And the idea of trying to perfectly place 3 or 4 different shades on my eye is a non-starter. This is realistic, yet simple, and can be used by anyone of any age. Love it.
I'm finally ordering your eye brush set.....mel Thompson uses them and her blending is crazy good.
I don't own any blending brushes, and this video makes me feel like that is dumb of me. I might actually be able to pull off a darker eye-shadow this way, I usually stick to pastels and light shimmers because I couldn't make my eyes look good with dark colors without it getting way too heavy/weird. I definitely was placing it wrong.
Wayne's brushes are great. I ordered through beautylish were they offered monthly payments.
Yes, Mel's terrific! I watched a recent video where she mentions Wayne' s brushes. I think JAMBEAUTY 89 uses them, too💖
You won't regret it! They are amazing

Yeah I have crazy eyebrows and hooded eyes so I pretty much just need you to do my eyes everyday
@Mel Berry, me too! He makes it so beautiful!
Hahaha me too!
Hooded eyes aren't that bad 😊 I have a slight hood all over which doesn't cover my lid completely but enough that bold eyeliner is not an option. I do a mix of Wayne's and Stephanie Lange's hooded eye techniques. Using the information they have, I have been successful at cut crease and even a Halo eye on a friend with extremely hooded eyes 😍 check out their hooded eyes tutorial videos. Have a good day.
I also have hooded eyes. All you really have to change is that you bring the eyeshadow "up" vertically (towards the brow) in more of kind of an oval shape, rather than applying to only the lid part. That way, when the eye is open, you can see it
Morgan Prince thanks I will give that a try but I’ve accepted that Makeup is not one of my skills. I really only wear it for special occasions anyway and those are very rare
Can’t wait to try this technique!
I did and it looks amazing!

This is genuinely the first time I learned a whole lot more than I thought I would in a makeup tutorial video. Usually I'd just trial and error because things usually don't work out.
Your makeup tips are priceless Wayne! Keep em coming!
You are absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for all that you do! You have changed the way I look at makeup and have made me a better artist. I truly admire your perspective and your impeccable sense of taste!
When I was a teenager, the only makeup I applied was some eyeliner, mascara, and blush which I would also sweep across just above the crease of the eyelid because I have a large space there. I still believe just a little is complementary and makes the eyes look brighter. You are the only person I’ve ever known who does this, too!
You literally SAVED my life!!!. I never could get eye shadow right. But I'm definately going to practice now
Wow!!!!! What was that crazy zoom in the middle 🤨 soooooo clever and useful 😍😍😍😍👌🏼

You did it again! A 💡went off watching this. Looking forward to trying this on thursday☺️
Thank you again!
I did not have a clue about this technique. Thank you Wayne, so helpful.
It kind of sucks that I have poor eyesight so I can't really see what I'm doing unless I look very close up on the mirror. My eyeshadow is never blended in or the same on each eyelid lol. How do people even do eye shadows with bad eyesight?? I give them props!
Totally agree. I thought when I got contact lenses I would be able to start doing make up ( and go swimming etc) only to be given a massive list of things not to do while wearing them and of course that includes putting them in before doing make up. I gave up on contacts and on makeup in the end. I can't see myself anyway so why should I care 🙃. Makeup tutorials are fascinating though.
Check out Molly Burke's RUclips channel.
I use a small hand mirror, I have pretty crap eye sight I’ve just figured out my eye, could probably do my eye shadow without a mirror now lol
I use contact lenses. Have no trouble with that. Put then on before putting then in and have no problem with that. Using contacts for over 10 years.
That is the great struggle of the vision impaired.
Now that was good!!! Wow! Huge difference between your eyes!

I’ve been following you for years (this is my new account). But you are the Kevyn Aucoin of this generation. So grateful for you and your artistry.
Could you talk about placement for hooded eyes? And, could you talk more about shadow colors for specific eye colors? I have the 2nd rarest eye color: light blue ring around the pupil with light true green iris. I used to think my eyes were just green, but then an eye doctor explained why my eyes seemed to shift in color was that blue ring sometimes increases. I've had makeup artists at some places (Sephora, Mac, Ulta) who say I should never wear green on my eyes. But, I love the vibrant, jewel tone color green. It seems difficult to find shadow colors that pop my eye color while still remaining true to my middle-aged, professional look. Thank you for your channel and videos! I learn so much from you. I recommend your channel to my friends, family, and college students.

"A whisper amount" I love that term!
I've had a bad relationship with eyeshadow all my life. Will this work with slightly hooded eyes? (I'm gonna try anyway though)
Yes, just keep eyes open when you apply so that the product doesn't go missing under the hoods lol. And draw your crease ABOVE your actual crease :) it's a little cheat like an optical illusion! Ps. Wayne has videos on hooded lids!

Question: why do people piss on using the old-fashioned sponge applicators???
I still use them. I use them for packing on product, or for placing some product on my eye before blending with a brush.
I’m 42, so I’m from the time when using these applicators was not looked down upon.
So have I missed some important memo where the sponge applicator was crucified? What’s the problem with using them?
Btw, still using your tips on hooded eye eye shadow placement, many many thanks.
Anna K and some crappy eyeshadows only show up when applied with fingers or spongy thingy!
Lol.
There's nothing wrong with sponge applicators , they even sell them in stores with longer handles .
I think though it's just the least popular application tool.
@@ocandro try a silicone "brush"/" sponge" applicator. Not the ones that are supposed to be alternatives to beauty blenders, but those that are supposed to be alternatives for eye-shadow brushes. Some of my eyeshadows are so much better with it than a normal brush (same intensity as with a finger except I can make far sharper lines/precise application), and it's more hygienic for your panned product (plus it wastes less!).
The type of eyeshadows I have noticed work much better with silicone "sponge" applicatiors is those more metallic creamy eyeshadows that work much better with a finger than brushes.
Anna K I agree. I just bought some long handled ones. They are great for packing on. You don’t use them like a brush.
It’s nice to hear I am not the only one!!!
And yes, I use my fingers as well some times, tho I do need an alternative for that cuz when I have long nails, I end up not being able to reach.
The silicon brush thingie mentioned sounds like a tool I need to go looking for!

this placement makes so much sense thanks
I love the blush trick!
Thank you for your videos! I always learn so much from you! What's the best eye shadow color for brown eyes with olive skin color?
TheCreativeChica purple!
Blue 😊
I have light olive skin tone and brown eyes and find I can wear anything except pinks\lilacs (these make my eyes look odd) and yellows\oranges (brightish yellow not the deeper shades) these make me look like I have a shiner!!
But an awful lot depends on your face and eye shape. I would buy a cheap palette that has lots of colours\shades and play with it. Apart from being great fun you will, honestly, find your colour scheme.
Hope this is helpful xx
I have the same skin and my fav is: Copper with some sparkle and some dark grey with sparkle on top + eyeliner 👁
Personally I find that cool-toned colors look sad and grey on me (warm skin undertones and hazelnut eyes).
A whisper 😍
