Hello from sweden! This is such a good tip! Wonderful channel for me who is 49 years young and suddenly want to learn both how to do a mature and natural look and also party look. Thank you Wayne!😊😊😊👍👍👍
This is beautiful and more often than not I’m wearing 1 or at most 2 eyeshadows. This shows the potential of how stunning that look can be when done right. Thank you Wayne. I’m using a ruler tomorrow for my placement 😉 x
Such a good teacher...consise and to the point...I've got into a rut with my makeup...stopped wearing eyeshadow...but these tips going to give it a go x
By far the best eyeshadow tip I’ve ever received! After years of trying to do my eyeshadow and watching countless makeup videos, I gave up not knowing what I was doing wrong. This changed everything for me, thank you!
I adore you Wayne Goss. I’ve learned enough from watching your videos that I don’t look like a toddler playing in mommy’s makeup now. I love simple makeup and enhancing my natural look without spending loads of time on my face. My favorite tips are tight lining (I have small eyes with very heavy lids so it works far better than lining my eyelid) and apply liquid over powder. I can’t contour to save my life but I get compliments on what I have learned from you.
I used to be so afraid of eyeshadow until i came across your videos!! Thank you! Perfectly to the point and super easy to replicate. Love you Wayne❤️❤️❤️
I have been watching beauty guru videos for about 6 weeks now and not found anyone I like nearly as much as Wayne. I am 47, never worn makeup really and have recently been spending far too much on makeup. I am so glad to find such honest, relevant, useful advice at last!!! Thank you so much!
I just found your channel and I’m obsessed. It really helps me apply makeup more properly because you take us through the products, where they should and why
I use to watch any video I could for guidance with any part of makeup, I LOVE make up! But I want to look natural and not overdone. I have learned so much more the past 2 weeks from you with my makeup routines and now I don’t feel nearly as frustrated! You are an absolute godsend to RUclips! And I always love your inspirational and uplifting messages you leave. You care about women feeling comfortable, confident, and are so kind in thinking about their situations wether financially, skin tone, weight, or facial features or skin textures. I admire you so much! Thank you for all of your tips, all of your beautiful uplifting advice you have impacted my life and o sincerely appreciate you and who you are as a person. ❤️ thank you so much!
I just met this channel 3 days ago and I am lovin it. I don't even wear make at all but I would like to start for some occasions. I have searched make up for beginners and went through so many videos that I'm overwhelmed. This channel has help me so much in a few days. Im glad I found you.
Another perfect eyeshadow tutorial, with real tips and real teaching, thanks so much. You made me excited about doing my eye makeup Wayne. That's something I never thought would happen, ever. I always dreaded it. 💗💗💗
True genius !!! I get a lot of good ideas and advice , and I have been on and off following Wayne for 6 and a half years. Thank you Wayne for such beautiful work , you’re truly a gentleman, yeah a complete genius with the makeup, and I appreciate what you do. Much love Wayne 💞💞 Rachel
Thank you, Wayne. Been following your channel for a long time and subscribed, too. I like that you are not afraid to tell it as it is especially where cosmetics are concerned. You share genuine and realistic tips. You deserve more credit than most make up 'gurus' here! Keep the videos coming, Wayne. You are the best!!
Hooded eyes aren't that bad 😊 I have a slight hood all over which doesn't cover my lid completely but enough that bold eyeliner is not an option. I do a mix of Wayne's and Stephanie Lange's hooded eye techniques. Using the information they have, I have been successful at cut crease and even a Halo eye on a friend with extremely hooded eyes 😍 check out their hooded eyes tutorial videos. Have a good day.
I also have hooded eyes. All you really have to change is that you bring the eyeshadow "up" vertically (towards the brow) in more of kind of an oval shape, rather than applying to only the lid part. That way, when the eye is open, you can see it
Morgan Prince thanks I will give that a try but I’ve accepted that Makeup is not one of my skills. I really only wear it for special occasions anyway and those are very rare
I just discovered you in the last few days! I found you because I was searching for ways to apply makeup in a fresh way. Im 53 and my years of applying make up in the 20(ish) way no longer works (powders, eye makeup) and all I've been doing is creating under eye wrinkles and pockets of makeup gathering making me seem to have MORE wrinkles and skin aging than what I have with no makeup. Slowly but surely Im finding ways to improve my overall makeup look while fighting the skin aging process as much as I can. Thanks for all of the great tips! This one is simple and doable!
Him and John Maclean are the only true make up artists left on youtube . They actually teach you the correct way to apply your make up . Glad those guys still make videos . But sad they dont get the recognition they deserve .
Thank you so much , that is so simplistic, but obviously very important. Why would anyone thumbs down this video is beyond me. Just thank you so much Wayne❤️🌸🌸🌸❤️

I love the blush to eye trick!!! Ive been doing it all wrong for so many years!! When I do my makeup now I feel so confident!! Which is a miracle for me!! Thank you Wayne!!
I’ve suffered from a stroke when I was younger and my right eye is very problematic so again ty for this. I think now I will be able to do it correctly on my problem eye. ♥️
You are absolutely brilliant with the way you teach. Thank you for sharing what you love. It shows on every level that you are genuine with what you do. I have learned so much just from 3 videos and will be watching the rest soon . Stay blessed darling.
Hi Mr guru... How to make a crease for light make up or on the go people.for Everyday... And per the last video I watched, what organic concealer you could recommend?? Thanks and God bless!
He even say the colors right! Unlike other youtubers call colors like Hot pink, Fuschia pink, creamy rose gold. And here is wayne calling it Magenta. He is a real artist
Yes, just keep eyes open when you apply so that the product doesn't go missing under the hoods lol. And draw your crease ABOVE your actual crease :) it's a little cheat like an optical illusion! Ps. Wayne has videos on hooded lids!
Wayne. Thank you for these videos. You make it so much easier to understand. You keep the steps simple and basic. I gain so much more knowledge and appreciation for this art. Keep these videos coming.
Thank you Wayne. I'm a 77-year-old lady who likes to look nice. I always wear make-up when I go out. I also have green eyes but usually wear green eye-shadow as I thought that opened up the eyes. Now I will try using a brown shadow as I can see the difference it makes. Thank you again. Now I need advice from you about eyebrows! I have blond hair with a long fringe covering my brows. The fashion of thin brows in the 70's and 80's has ruined the brows of most people my age hence the reason I cover mine with a fringe. But I would now like to be able to show off my brows sometimes... Thanks again
Hello Ann. Ive seen one various pages on the internet that microblading helps a lot of older People with their eyebrows. I dont know if you've heard of it but it's essentially tattoos for the eyebrows. It might be a bit expensive tho and I dont know your budget. But if you have the opportunity to visit a professional microblader i think it would be great. Good luck on your beauty adventure 😊❤️
@@JohannaBirknes Thank you Johanna. Yes, I have heard recently about microblading and think it might be the solution. I have watched my granddaughter putting make-up on and, to be honest, I don't have enough time left (!!!) to spend it on all the shading etc that she does. lol. But thank you, and I will look on-line to see what microblading entails ... and if it hurts!
Hi Ann, there are products that also encourage brow regrowth. Jamaican black castor oil pure, massaged into the area is one. Another is rapid brow. Any brow regrowth product without peptides won't work. Good luck! (Have a similar issue, someone offered to tidy mine up and plucked them all out and they never grew back properly so 15 years later I'm achingly trying to regrow them
@@natalieboyton8344 Hi Natalie. I've just come back to this page and seen your reply. Having looked on Google for information I am certainly happy to try Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I enquired into Microblading and wonder if it will be too stark! I recently sent off for Revitalash hoping I could 'kill two birds with one stone' but it was quite expensive and probably does the same thing as the Castor Oil. I'll let you know....
I love your very intellectual approach to makeup application. You mentioned using highlight on the jaw rather than a darker color to contour and my god, I recieved compliments at work on how rested I looked... The power of makeup. Thanks
Thank you Wayne! I have a question, and I know you dont normally read or answer these but I pray you will. 8 just had my 57th birthday and normally just throw 9n some tinted moisturizer, concealer, blush, bronzer, mascara, and brows. (If I'm really rushed, even less.) My problem is, I got home tonight and my face looked awful! Breaking apart, patchy, just awful and I dont know what to do! I used my damp beauty blender, very much a light look. 8 did use primer and then moisturizer mixed with the Loreal infallible in the tube. No setting powder under the eyes, and barely a dustingvover the rest of my face. Help! Am I suddenly at the age where a put my contacts in and think I look good and instead look hideous, or please tell me there is another recommendation? Please help. I trust you to be honest. TY sir. 💖
Hi, we are close in age. To get a flawless look I start with Trader Joe's Antioxidant Facial Serum followed by moisturizer, and then foundation. I apply foundation with a damp Besuty Blender or foundation brush depending on how much coverage I want. You might want to try a oil based foundation for that dewy look that women of a certain age want. Also, your night time routine is important. I subscribe to two beauty boxes that are filled with cleansers, moisturizers, masks from high end companies. Be generous with your moisturizer no skimping.
HotAndFlashy is a channel to check out. Wayne's great for application techniques, but Angie's great on product reviews. She tests products thoroughly and explains why she liked/disliked something.
Good advice already! My mom has a similar problem, she wears primer & foundation but by the end of the day her skin has half-absorbed everything on her face, and she ends up looking patchy, peely, flaky skin. The answer is: more moisture. Esp at night. My mom puts a very basic lotion on her face at night (lubriderm) and then she follows it up with Aquaphor, which is an occlusive (think petroleum jelly) that locks the moisture into her skin before she sleeps. We also put a humidifier for her room at night, and she wakes up feeling rested & hydrated instead of patchy, dehydrated, stiff. Once you've increased your nightly moisture, I think setting your foundation w a setting powder will prevent your makeup from melting/disappearing throughout the day. Hope that helps!!
You are absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for all that you do! You have changed the way I look at makeup and have made me a better artist. I truly admire your perspective and your impeccable sense of taste!
I have light olive skin tone and brown eyes and find I can wear anything except pinks\lilacs (these make my eyes look odd) and yellows\oranges (brightish yellow not the deeper shades) these make me look like I have a shiner!! But an awful lot depends on your face and eye shape. I would buy a cheap palette that has lots of colours\shades and play with it. Apart from being great fun you will, honestly, find your colour scheme. Hope this is helpful xx
Question: why do people piss on using the old-fashioned sponge applicators??? I still use them. I use them for packing on product, or for placing some product on my eye before blending with a brush. I’m 42, so I’m from the time when using these applicators was not looked down upon. So have I missed some important memo where the sponge applicator was crucified? What’s the problem with using them? Btw, still using your tips on hooded eye eye shadow placement, many many thanks.
Lol. There's nothing wrong with sponge applicators , they even sell them in stores with longer handles . I think though it's just the least popular application tool.
@@ocandro try a silicone "brush"/" sponge" applicator. Not the ones that are supposed to be alternatives to beauty blenders, but those that are supposed to be alternatives for eye-shadow brushes. Some of my eyeshadows are so much better with it than a normal brush (same intensity as with a finger except I can make far sharper lines/precise application), and it's more hygienic for your panned product (plus it wastes less!). The type of eyeshadows I have noticed work much better with silicone "sponge" applicatiors is those more metallic creamy eyeshadows that work much better with a finger than brushes.
It’s nice to hear I am not the only one!!! And yes, I use my fingers as well some times, tho I do need an alternative for that cuz when I have long nails, I end up not being able to reach. The silicon brush thingie mentioned sounds like a tool I need to go looking for!
Thank you thank you thank you Wayne for this amazing tip! Following your advice in this post has made the biggest difference to the way my eye makeup looks than almost anything I’ve ever done. I could not figure out why my eyeshadow never looked quite right, but thanks to you now I know - I wasn’t placing it right on the lid, in line with the end of my brow. This has made such a difference! Bless you, and keep doing your thing; we all love you for it 😘

You literally SAVED my life!!!. I never could get eye shadow right. But I'm definately going to practice now
I used to be so afraid of eyeshadow until i came across your videos!! Thank you! Perfectly to the point and super easy to replicate. Love you Wayne❤️❤️❤️
Feeling extra special because I've always done the blush on the eye crease trick...\o/
Yes ma'am lol I have done that for years
nisenise41 Me too!
Absolutely! I've been doing it since the '70's but they also said I was a little ahead of my time back then😂
A person with so simple and easy to understand techniques... definitely love this artist work and his to-the-point devotion
I have been watching beauty guru videos for about 6 weeks now and not found anyone I like nearly as much as Wayne.
I am 47, never worn makeup really and have recently been spending far too much on makeup. I am so glad to find such honest, relevant, useful advice at last!!! Thank you so much!
You are truly the one constant here on You Tube? Your videos are concise and to the point. Thank you for all you do.
Can’t wait to try this technique!
I did and it looks amazing!
D Liz yes amazing like a retired nun
Much love Wayne
💞💞 Rachel
"which is why it looks a bit mental..."😂
Had me cracking up as well 😂
Yesssssss his delivery on that was perfect! I see you picked up on that to Laura LOL
I LOVE when he says Mental!! 😂🤣🤪
I love your tutorials! The way you explain things and break it down so simply! Thank you, i learn so much from you.
Wow that just blew my mind, that was incredibly helpful. Your explanation was concise and simple.
Yeah I have crazy eyebrows and hooded eyes so I pretty much just need you to do my eyes everyday
@Mel Berry, me too! He makes it so beautiful!
Hahaha me too!
You did it again! A 💡went off watching this. Looking forward to trying this on thursday☺️
Thank you again!
And Lisa Eldridge
Maybe they don’t want it! ;)
And I agree they are sure pure and lovely
Idk if you've seen her videos but I would definitely recommend watching Aly Art
Kiki G too!
I love you so much, Wayne! Your sweet and soft disposition is why I watch! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much , that is so simplistic, but obviously very important. Why would anyone thumbs down this video is beyond me. Just thank you so much Wayne❤️🌸🌸🌸❤️
Wayne- watching your videos is like going to a college course on makeup artistry! Thank you so much for sharing videos for those of us that wanna look runway glam and not "Insta- glam"😘😘❤️
“Which is why it looks a bit mental...” 😂
I loved that 😅🤣👍
My favourite line.
Also I had a moment “ yeah thats my eye make up. A bit mental.”
Wayne speaks with so much passion in all videos, that it's pleasure to hear.
I love the blush to eye trick!!! Ive been doing it all wrong for so many years!! When I do my makeup now I feel so confident!! Which is a miracle for me!! Thank you Wayne!!
Amazing technique Wayne I love it because i really dont know how to place it correctly. More eyeshadow please tutorial txs 😍

G Raf what tip was that? Missed it
I’ve suffered from a stroke when I was younger and my right eye is very problematic so again ty for this. I think now I will be able to do it correctly on my problem eye. ♥️
Wow.. I love how you explain it.. it's very useful.. thank you Wayne 😘
Now this is what a tutorial is. I'm learning so much. I'm glad I discovered this channel.
He even say the colors right! Unlike other youtubers call colors like Hot pink, Fuschia pink, creamy rose gold. And here is wayne calling it Magenta. He is a real artist
Oh WOW! The blusher trick is magicccc, because continuity truly adds to the flow of an art piece. I cant wait to try this out
He is so refreshing & organic in his approach.. no gimmicky drag looks ..a true artist a true make up artist..
Where were you...??
I found your channel today and i totally loved it sooo much..
Thanks a ton..
Love from india
I love when you say if you apply products wrong it makes you look mental 😂
Right!!! Made me lmao
Excellent demonstration. Thank you!
That bronze application really makes your eye colour pop! Thank you for sharing your knowledge... I'm learning so much.
Wayne, the older you get, the more beautiful you become (inside and out). Thanks for sharing your wisdom and Merry Christmas!
Game. Changer. Totally subscribing now!
Very well explained 🙌🏼 love the balance and harmony of everything tying together as one
I've had a bad relationship with eyeshadow all my life. Will this work with slightly hooded eyes? (I'm gonna try anyway though)
Yes, just keep eyes open when you apply so that the product doesn't go missing under the hoods lol. And draw your crease ABOVE your actual crease :) it's a little cheat like an optical illusion! Ps. Wayne has videos on hooded lids!
I just love watching your work! I learn so much every time. Thanks for not always using the designer products.
Wayne. Thank you for these videos. You make it so much easier to understand. You keep the steps simple and basic. I gain so much more knowledge and appreciation for this art. Keep these videos coming.
Whisper! Love that description.
"A whisper amount" I love that term!
Keep us posted Anne!
Thanks
I've started using the argeriline on my skin morning and night. Ill keep you posted. Very excited
that's the blush trick they taught us in makeup school (: it works wonders!
So excited for Christmas!!! Hubs is getting me those yummy brushes!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Wayne! I have a question, and I know you dont normally read or answer these but I pray you will.
8 just had my 57th birthday and normally just throw 9n some tinted moisturizer, concealer, blush, bronzer, mascara, and brows. (If I'm really rushed, even less.)
My problem is, I got home tonight and my face looked awful!
Your eyeshadow videos are making me feel more and more confident about applying and mastering it . Thank you!!!🥰🥰🥰
You are absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for all that you do! You have changed the way I look at makeup and have made me a better artist. I truly admire your perspective and your impeccable sense of taste!
Thank you for your videos! I always learn so much from you! What's the best eye shadow color for brown eyes with olive skin color?
TheCreativeChica purple!
Blue 😊
I have light olive skin tone and brown eyes and find I can wear anything except pinks\lilacs (these make my eyes look odd) and yellows\oranges (brightish yellow not the deeper shades) these make me look like I have a shiner!!
But an awful lot depends on your face and eye shape. I would buy a cheap palette that has lots of colours\shades and play with it. Apart from being great fun you will, honestly, find your colour scheme.
Hope this is helpful xx
I have the same skin and my fav is: Copper with some sparkle and some dark grey with sparkle on top + eyeliner 👁
Personally I find that cool-toned colors look sad and grey on me (warm skin undertones and hazelnut eyes).
Always love your tips.. and i learn a lot from you
Question: why do people piss on using the old-fashioned sponge applicators???
I still use them. I use them for packing on product, or for placing some product on my eye before blending with a brush.
I’m 42, so I’m from the time when using these applicators was not looked down upon.
So have I missed some important memo where the sponge applicator was crucified? What’s the problem with using them?
Btw, still using your tips on hooded eye eye shadow placement, many many thanks.
Anna K and some crappy eyeshadows only show up when applied with fingers or spongy thingy!
Anna K I agree. I just bought some long handled ones. They are great for packing on. You don’t use them like a brush.
Bless you, and keep doing your thing; we all love you for it 😘
Love the way you do makeup. It always looks so blended and beautiful.
Would you please tell us what brush numbers you used. Making a Beautylish purchase and want to get these brushes also. Also anxiously awaiting the launch of your products. Thank you
He uses his own brushes. He came out with his own brushes line a little while back.
Thanks so much for replying...I was asking Wayne specifically the number of each of his brushes he was using. I bought his anniversary kit a few years ago and believe I have the brush that he started with, but wanted to make sure and I need the number of the crease brush, I know I don't have that one because it is white and the anniversary brushes are all black.
