K.C. singing is on the keyboards. As you can hear, the brass section is off the hook and their back-up singers and drums - all FIRE as you said! A great era to be alive!
Definitely do "Get Down Tonight," "That's The Way, (I Like It)," "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," "Please Don't Go" and "Give It Up." You will REALLY love them. ☮️
I was lucky we had an Ice Rink to go to in the summer when it was hot and hit the Roller Rink in the winter when it got cold. But at either place you could hear everything from this to Jukebox Hero and everything in between. That's what I miss the most radio stations that didn't play just one style but played all of them.
I grew up and participated in the 'disco' era as a dyed in the wool wannabe rock drummer...and I loved disco music and the entire discotheque scene !! GREAT times and great memories...! KC & The Sunshine Band were HUGE...awesome dance music.
If you two had done the video version you'd laughing your butts off!~!!!!! It's awesomely hysterical watching the horn players jamming on this. ✌Peace✌
Disco never died, it's still alive today, in guitar riffs, drum patterns and keyboards, people just don't recognize it as such. It also brought high-level orchestration back into the mainstream, which made the tracks so much more melodious and pleasing to the ear. A lot of talent came over from Europe with more sophisticated sounds, such as Alec Costadinos, Marc Cerrone and Giorgio Moroder. Here in the US, Tom Moulton, Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards were real pioneers. I worked a lot as a DJ starting in 1973 and it was an eye-opening experience. I also did some interviews and articles for Spin Magazine, which was strictly about disco back then, and met quite few notable artists, such as Vickie Sue Robinson, Patrice Rushen (who was a real crossover artist and was very successful in jazz and the best female keyboardist I've ever heard), August Darnell and Cory Daye from Ked Creole & the Coconuts and Dr. Buzzard's Savannah Band and quite a few others. It was a hell of a ride.
I love it! Whenever you guys react to any 70’s song, I’m here for it! Early 80’s too. Rock, Yacht Rock, Soft Rock, Dance, Disco, R&B, One Hit Wonders, Instrumental…there are thousands that you haven’t heard!! Ryan, you listened to Gap Band’s “Outstanding”(extended version) and I almost fell off my chair, you loved it so much. Give Gap Band’s Yearning for your Love a review…you will be happy you did!
K.C. is the keyboardist and singer. Dude is amazing. So down to earth too. Hip hop has sampled these guys numerous times. My favorite cuts from them are "Keep it Comin' Love" and "Ain't Nothin' Wrong". This one is up there too.
@@kellypickle True but I’m just glad you can see my point bc a lot of the disco that was popular had absolutely nothing to do with the core of black music. R&B acts (The Whispers, for example) dabbled to ride the wave but thankfully they didn’t go full Donna Summer RIP.
That's what I am talkin' about, those horns! check out the 70's disco video! there were sooo many hits from KC check out : KC & The Sunshine Band - Please Don't Go KC & The Sunshine Band - [Shake, Shake, Shake] Shake Your Booty
Don't worry, you're off the hook, Nick--they've always been known as a (great) disco band, lol, with lots of hits. They bring a figurative version of musical sunshine with their catchy dance grooves, and their good time/party feel. I'm pretty sure they still perform today. Happy Thanksgiving, Nick, Ryan, and Ty, and to all of the 502 crew. I'm really thankful for music, and for this channel.
This band knows how to bring the PARTY…be sure to check out one of their videos…this song is a jam, but isn’t even their biggest hit…love your channel and appreciation for great music.
Have you guys reacted to band called War? They have some of the funkiest jams ever! From "Spill the Wine" to "Slippin' Into Darkness" they were always on point.
Disco got a bad rap after a while, but there were so many great songs that came out of it. This one was always a playlist for me, just so catchy and groovy.
You should review these 2 great songs: "Vertigo / Relight My Fire" - Dan Hartman (With Loleatta Holloway) and "Devil's Gun" - CJ & Co. (This was the 1st song played at the opening of Studio 54).
Casey created quite a formula for crafting dance floor hits ( they just kept on coming). And as far as Dance Floor hits they don't get much better than this.
THE JIMMY CASTOR BUNCH - " It's Just Begun " 1973 FUNK Classic this band sounds so much like KC & The Sunshine Band , even the voice of Jimmy's singing sounds alike. It's Amazing Music you guys gotta check out this JAM 🎸🎺
" Bounce, Rock Skate Roll (Remastered) - VAUGHN MASON AND CREW 1979 ROLL ,BOUNCE...ROCK... SKATE ⛸️ CLASSIC FUNK Roller Skating Disco and Funk 🎸🎹 w/ INSANE BASS & DRUM INTRO. GUYS you Must check out this Super Funky Groovy ✌️song
Way back in the stone ages i sat up to watch them on the midnight special ! My grandfather stayed up to see what the big deal was. He called me crazy but i heard him humming this song the next day 😂. Good memories are priceless.....
What makes this song even more impressive is seeing them perform it in the video. You're only getting half of the experience by only listening to the song.
Love this song and K.C. ... Please react to the 6-minute-plus long-play version of the R&B funk dance song "Fantastic Voyage" by Lakeside from 1980 (which has extra verses than the radio edit version). So fun with awesome vocals and beat and instrumentation!
Disco yes, fire? for what it is, hell yeah. Amazing video too, the horn section is awesome. I grew up in grunge and I should hate this shit, but I don't.
Watching them perform is a MUST!! The dancing horns, the colors- the whole band and KC performing up a storm!
To be alive in the 70s was such a blessing. The music including disco was the best ❤
The 70’s CANNOT be equalled.
You got that right!🤗
In most, if not all categories....Country, Disco, R&B,Soul, Rock and Roll, and straight up Rock !!!!! take your pick of love it all.
And 80s. After that it's when it all went to hell in a handbasket
This band is no joke. They FUNK IT UP!
Yes, that song sagues into “Keep it Coming Love”.
🎶Don't stop it now,
Don't stop it, no,
Don't stop it now,
Don't stop it
Such a great time to be a teenager! We were all boogie men back then.
Let’s Boogie!!
K.C. singing is on the keyboards. As you can hear, the brass section is off the hook and their back-up singers and drums - all FIRE as you said! A great era to be alive!
I'd recommend "Give It Up" and "Boogie Shoes". Disco gets a bad rap, but I can say for sure I've never heard a depressing disco song.
When I go for long photography drives, I always listen to 70's music, even bad traffic can't get you in a bad mood.
Definitely do "Get Down Tonight," "That's The Way, (I Like It)," "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," "Please Don't Go" and "Give It Up." You will REALLY love them. ☮️
The video is a must watch.
You need to see them live. They put on a great show and sound even better.
The Music video is worth the watch. It has the same fidelity.
Loving KC and The Sunshine Band! You are really missing out by not watching the video. Happy Thanksgiving boys!
100%. !!!!! !!!!!!!!
Dayum! I haven't heard that in forty years. Thanks for the memories
I remember dancing on rollerskates to this. Saturday night at the roller rink. Such good times. 70's kids were happy, thin kids. 😊
I was lucky we had an Ice Rink to go to in the summer when it was hot and hit the Roller Rink in the winter when it got cold. But at either place you could hear everything from this to Jukebox Hero and everything in between. That's what I miss the most radio stations that didn't play just one style but played all of them.
YEEESSSSS!!! ❤ 🎶 🎉🕺 MORE KC and the Sunshine Band!!! Get Down Tonight is a must!!!
Being in my 20s dancing at the club.
Great times !
Roller skating in the ‘70’s ❤
Man, really love those driving horns.
When you do this band you should always do them performing. They are so much fun to watch. I'm sure you will love those versions.
Dancin at the discotheque... Best time of my life!!! ❤ 🔥
I'm so happy I was young in the disco era 💃 I love to dance 💃

“Keep it Coming Love” is another good song.

✌Peace✌
Need to play a video of them on American Bandstand and watch the dancers and the outfits worn back in. lol
Love them!
KC kicked it all off with Get Down Tonight. Good one for you to try out.
you always have to watch them live,
Not live but the music videos sure.
ooooh....that bad ass bass
Such a fun band!! Just can’t stand still when they are groovin’!!🤘🔥
Ryan would have fit right into the disco clubs of the 70's. He chair dances like a pro, but I'd still love to see his stylish footwork.

Heatwave--Boogie Nights
A much better song than this one!

"Betcha didn't know that", "Keep it coming Love", "Boogie Shoes".
Born in 69 and in JRHS all we did was roller skate, the music back in the late 70's early 80's was just awesome
I remember them as a kid in the seventies on the radio. They were huge.
Happy Thanksgiving guys! Great pick!! You just took me back to the summer of 1977!! Love it! Total 🔥 ... Thanks guys. Peace out!
Ryan is the best dancer on any reaction channel!🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽
Get down with your bad selves. I used to teach disco in 1978 to this song. Those were the days.
Y'all crack me up 😆😆😆😆😆
Love performance is priceless!!!!!
K.C. is the keyboardist and singer. Dude is amazing. So down to earth too. Hip hop has sampled these guys numerous times. My favorite cuts from them are "Keep it Comin' Love" and "Ain't Nothin' Wrong". This one is up there too.
You def need to react to a video version of one of their songs. So much fun to watch. I believe that KC is still doing shows..
Thanks fellas. Love me some KC and the Sunshine Band. Just makes me happy and this isn't even their best. Please watch their clips, you will love em.
Nick, I honestly didn’t think you’d like this song! I love disco. I’m a man and don’t care🤷🏼♂️.
Next groovy jam...."Get Down Tonight". It's fire!
Remember funk+soul = disco
💯
Respectfully disagree *_because_* not all disco is soulful or funky. 💯
@@gabrielmcdonnell8699 of course not but that is the origin

Flashback jam...

Get the medicine bottle out…….you have Disco Fever! Enjoying your reaction! 😂
They had a great run, several hits
US Billboard Hot 100 peak #1
Need to peep the live version...FIRE 🔥
“I’ll be your son of a gun???” Wow. Big save on that one.
I feel young again!
See how you automatically smile, put on the white man’s overbite, and start moving to the beat? That’s a mark of a groovy song.
4:08 Co-sign, Ryan. Always was my favorite part of the song.
5:19 “Roll Bounce” Meagan Good 🙋🏽♂️😎
I love how animated Ryan is😂
Now you need to listen to their song Boogie Shoes.
The lyrics in this are deep.
Disco got a bad rap after a while, but there were so many great songs that came out of it. This one was always a playlist for me, just so catchy and groovy.

I wanna go dancing with Ryan. 💃🕺

jam
I recommend Get Down Tonight - their best, IMO. After that, That’s the Way I Like It.
Probably the only band to put wall-to-wall “uh-hun” in a #1 hit song (“That’s the Way (I Like It)”).
uh-huh, uh-huh
Boogie Man
Good song..
Make Disco Cool Again

Great one! Watch them perform sometime! The band and backup singers are incredible!
Love this song and K.C. ... Please react to the 6-minute-plus long-play version of the R&B funk dance song "Fantastic Voyage" by Lakeside from 1980 (which has extra verses than the radio edit version). So fun with awesome vocals and beat and instrumentation!
Oh gosh, we burned so many calories dancing nearly every night at the disco.
Watch the video. Anything by KC is great. 😊
Disco yes, fire? for what it is, hell yeah. Amazing video too, the horn section is awesome. I grew up in grunge and I should hate this shit, but I don't.
