We really DID have the best music in the 70s!
Yes Indeed!
I was in high school in the late 70’s and grew up on this music…still love this stuff to this day!
Yes we did! 💯💯💯
I have found some great songs in pretty much every decade...starting in the 1940’s!!
Sure did!
Grew up with KC and Sunshine Band, so lucky to have had upbeat positive happy music and where color of skin did not matter, we all made, played and enjoyed great music together!
Skin color still doesn't matter. It's just propaganda to keep us divided
That was my jam back in the day!!!! 70’s had the best music!!!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
Disco got so much flak , but it is finally being recognized as great music!
In 75 and 76 it was a fresh new sound. After Saturday Night Fever it became a formula and the record companies and radio stations ran it into the ground but most of it has stood the test of time. We just needed a break from it for a few years to appreciate it again.
Only in the very best era for music could such great music get flak. There was just so much going on at the time, but damn that was some fun music. I think young people need to bring back funk and disco and rock too.
He's referring to Boogie down. That's what they called dancing. I always loved KC. I appreciated they were a mix of people. Kind of rare back then. I think that made them special.
Michael it wasn't rare anywhere I went. And I hitched across the US starting in 1974. Stayed in communes all over. There were people of every shade of every color. I'm guessing you weren't quite old enough to step out of your world at home. I hope you did at some point. ✌💞🤘 Our motto was Love the One Your With as Crosby, Stills and Nash sang about. Peace hun.
Everywhere I went dancing it was always a mixed crowd in the 70’s!!!
Shake Your Booty or Boogie Shoes! Grew up listening to KC and his vinyl still sits on my shelf. Truth be told - I fell in love with those sexy dimples when he smiled. Jump ahead to just before the pandemic hit, KC was performing at one of the casinos near me fairly often. Not sure about today, though.
Boogie is just a term used in the 70's. Not talking about the boogeyman that scares you. 🤣🤣😎👍
That's right! And 2 different spellings just like you typed above.
@@alamc200 Thank you!🙂👍
Here’s a few of their songs for you!
Boogie Shoes
Shake Your Booty
Get Down Tonight
Keep It Coming Love
That’s the Way
Please Don’t Go
I remember being in the back of the station wagon in the 70s with my siblings going on our dad's vacation to our relatives singing away to their songs...back when kids didn't have to wear seat belts...🤣 awww good times
Just a fun comment here. I used to work at Disney world in 1978 and one day walking out to the park from the underground tunnels he and his band walked up beside me and started goofing around with me. He was so adorable and friendly.
Wow! Great story, how fun!
I would have peed myself 🤣
We're they going to see goofy very strange ha ha
@@shannonwhite3721 ha ha
Right?? 😂 I can't think of a single friend of mine from back then who doesn't get dreamy smiles to this day thinking of KC!
Just. Fun. Period. And, oh, that horn section!!!!
I can’t remember if I told you guys or not, but I worked for a large plaintiffs law firm. The top attorney was celebrating his 25 years with the firm and we had a private party for him. He hired KC & The Sunshine Band to play. When he got married, his fiancé loved “Earth, Wind & Fire. So, he hired them for their reception!
How awesome!!!!
@@jacqueline4514 Definitely a perk for working there. That same year, another partner had a private party celebrating his anniversary with the farm and he hired Jo Dee Messina. It was when she was first coming out and had released a couple of songs. It was absolutely amazing!
@@LadyGator1983 What great experiences!!!! Wow!
@@jacqueline4514 Awesome time!!! KC wasn’t really all that friendly and wouldn’t let us take pictures. Jo Dee Messina on the other hand let us take all we wanted. She was very friendly and talk to everybody.
That's AWESOME!!
“Please Don’t Go” is a must listen from these guys. Get it!
We don't go with one of their worst songs
90s remake to please don't go is actually better than the original
Indeed 💯👍
Love it! KC is adorable. The band is top notch
This music never gets old it's always fun and always played at parties to help us boogie down lol 😆 through the years I saw them at least 3 times. Keep it coming love ❤ is a good one to check out.
Keep it coming love is another good jam.
My husband's favorite! And he's a hard rock, metalhead!!
exactly! in the album that came out here in Brazil, it goes straight into 'Keep it coming love', as one track only - it is an experience!
I was lucky enough to see them in concert. I had the biggest crush on KC. Great band
70s REAL MUSIC, REAL SINGING ,REAL INSTRUMENT...
One of my all time favorite groups love KC. love the horns awesome song. awesome reaction love from Memphis Tn.
Love y’all loving on this! So damn much fun. Thank you!
As an 18-year-old going to clubs in the late 70s, I danced to KC and the wonderful Sunshiners until 3 o’clock in the morning more nights than I can count. What a joy. Thanks again!
I grew up in an integrated area in the bronx in the 1970s and we worked peaceful through our racial differences and had a good time. And we liked eachother to top it all off!
I STILL love the 70's music, as do my 4 daughters who were born in the 80's and 90's.
We really really did!!! From every style and genre too!!!
great music never dies - my 2 year old granddaughter loves KC 💕💕
That’s right in the 70s we all loved each other and the music was like no other. Feel sorry for today’s generation.
So much fun last night!!! So much great music!
KC was not just your "Boogie Man"... he was THE man in the 70's... Crankin' out hits AND breaking down racial barriers !!! 🤟🏻🤟🏿
They are from Miami Florida...AKA The Sunshine State. That is how they formed their name. They were formed in 1974. Started playing while they were in high school. They attended Miami Lakes High School.
Note: Back in the 70's there were groups that were interracial. It truly was a great time to be young and having fun. People rarely thought about ones ethnicity and the racial makeup of bands. It was all about the music. I was 20 years old back in 1974. Today I'm 67, and still boogying to the beat...Great response and upload.
KC and the sunshine band was played at every wedding I ever went to😜
Everybody... get on the floor... let's dance... 😊
KC was a great song writer who worked with some of the best musicians in the business at the time.
KC, I have always LOVED you! Really miss your music and energy! You were ADORABLE!!!💋💋💖💖
The 70s music was FUN! It was definitely a party decade! I was there as a teen. Best years ever!
I love KC and the Sunshine Band. This is my favorite song by them and Keep it Coming Love. Other songs by them you will like; Boogie Shoes, Get Down Tonight and their ballad, Please Don't Go. All of their songs are from the 70's.
They had a studio in Florida with a bunch of vocalists and musicians, but KC wrote most of the songs. Despite all KC and the Sunshine Bands mega-hit songs, sometimes KC would write songs that required a higher voice than his (for example), so he would give them to someone else, like giving "ROCK YOUR BABY" to George McCrae and it going to #1 in 73' or 74'?
K.C. and the Sunshine Band was the FIRST integrated Band. You have to appreciate in the 50s 60s and 70s they actually had to know how to play their instruments.
Yea we had the best music in the 70s 😊
It was a great time to go to the Disco club and listen to this type music. With all the lights and a glowing dance floor.
70s is the treasure trove of best music ever. I was a sophomore in high school when this music hit.
I grew up on this, we had so fun playing his records and dancing, omg. Growing up in the 70s/80s was really as fun as it looked
Music is the elixir to bring all people together and love one another. Keep it up!
Being a songwriter, musician, vocalist myself (as well as a body builder) I do still stay on top of a lot of the different styles of the old band music. And fortunately you're in luck about this band still playing. KC just turned 63 years old but the band is still touring. They even have tour dates going into 2022 and 2023. Unfortunately the bands original guitar player Jerome Smith died back in 2000 in a construction accident. But the band is still out there playing so you can still go and see them live.
I love that you two love this music.
My teenage years.
I grew up with this music.
I was in high school when KC and the Sunshine band was created. This music played at our school dances lol
The music, hair, clothes, choreography, it was the best time for music.
Lots of respect to the dudes on the horns, they gotta be blowing all their air out and making the moves, my ass would be on the floor after a minute
I love KC he smiles the whole time he sings
KC and the Sunshine band was just plain FUN! We got along better as races in the seventies then we do now!
As a young man in Japan in the late70;s going to clubs dancing to this song and watching the ladies dance to shake your booty was the best of times.
They are still around and performing as far as I know!
Dancing on roller skates to this song!!! YES!!!
The 70s was a great time to be a teenager. The music didn't let you sit still
"Get Down Tonight" is absolutely essential!
You know what's funny, at the time, KC could play any of his killer hits (such as on American Bandstand) and the audience would just politely applaud. I've seen KC live. Y'all are reacting more like we did live in concert. He's a blast to watch in concert if you get a chance.
My time, My era, I was serving in the Marine Corps at the time. We used to jam out to KC, The O'Jays, AWB, The Spinners, Earth Wind & Fire....ect....ect. You could walk into our barracks and see Black dudes, White dudes, American Indian dudes, Hispanic dudes, Jewish dudes, Asian dudes, all jamin, dancin, laughin, and lovein it. We didn't care what race the band was, if it was good music....we loved it. Super glad y'all are likein it too!!
KC's boogie meant to get down! He also had a big non disco song in 1979 "Please Dont Go" - PEACE LOVE n HIPPYNESS ✌☮
One of the best dance songs of all time!!! I was lucky enough to have jammed to this in my prime back in the day!!!!
Most music from 66’ to 85/86’ I feel is the best music ever!! First half of the 60s all of the 70s and the first half of the 80s for me were the best but there were some good songs throughout much of the 80s just the best I think was the earlier part!!!
It was a great time to be in high school we had a musical revolution
I love the horns in that song so much. I think they are the center piece to this song.
I love kc & sunshine band I love the 70,s that was My era
Saw him live in 77..it was amazing!!
Thanks so much for playing this!!!! Y'all put a big smile on my face! They definitely the Sunshine!!!
When you watch KC and the Sunshine band you just cant help feeling like their is hope for humanity. Lol
Fantastic song & band. ❤
Born in 1967! Very spoiled with this awesome music! K.C. was LIT!! 🔥
You all make me laugh with your facial expressions 🤣 Yes, this was the music of my time. KC & The Sunshine Band are fabulous.
That was the theme song for "Sweetness" in Roll bounce! He rocked to it. Thumbs up if you remember the scene.
Sensational band, they all are all bringing us that special 🌞 🌞 sunshine, a must in every disco dance ......😃
Magical time in 1970’s
Variety of Music & Musicians
Being a little kid we had no notion of any BS!
We just were 🎶😊✌️🌸
I was blessed to be born in the 50 and enjoy my 70 yessss i used to party my booty off...i could not wait til the weekend my bag was packed for the weekend parties.....
this came out in either 1976 or 77 and yeah this was a disco hit. This is when music was at its finest. It looks like they might still be together, they reunite and do a few concerts back in 2003 and will be in Florida in 2022. But the original guitarist was killed On July 28, 2000, guitarist Jerome Smith died accidentally while working as a bulldozer operator. They do have a lot of other songs it looks like, Shake your booty, keep it coming love. can't wait to hear more.
#Anessa, it came out '76!
@@CJ_7519 wasn't sure which year. Thank you for the info
@@anessalyn1035, you're welcome🙏🏿!

You can't help having a smile on your face listening and watching this group. So upbeat, so much energy and so much getting along! We need that now! So glad I was a teenager back then.
You will LOVE Morris Day and the Time! The Bird and Jungle Love.
Its great watching S and M smile and enjoy this great music from a great time.
Don't you love our fashion back in the 70s we were so cool😎 bell bottoms and platform shoes and lots of polyester haha

I remember my older sister telling me a story of going to a theater to see a scary movie, can't remember which one, but she said at the tense moment of the movie, when something was about to happen, some guys in the theater broke out singing this... :)))
The word 'Boogie' meant dance back in the Disco Era. It was the era of the horns - and the country seemed to be much closer to each other then.
My favorite song by them!! Glad you all love it too
When kc played , everybody danced!
My high school years. I had such a crush on KC
Wow I remember this so well. He was all the little girls heartthrob. Lil great reaction guys. Damn song makes ya move lol

Yes baby. That was our music in the 70s. I'm 62 and still loving my music!
The 70's were freakin fantastic!!! I loved it..
Glad to see you guys enjoying my generation's music. I was one of the lucky ones who actually got to watch this group perform live. And, they did not disappoint! Mel, you are right. We had the best music ever! At least up to this moment in time! Hope you guys enjoy your journey through the classics of my generation. You gained a new member to the S&M squad. Love your reactions.
Color don't mean a damn....talent is talent... period !
We just loved our bell bottoms!
You're so right. We had the best music in the 70's and 80's. So many bands and musicians of all genre's. Integration started in 1970 and after that it was on. It was all love peace and great music. Great time to grow up in.
KC And The Sunshine Band in the 1970s provided a musical bridge for older music listeners who grew up with Big Band music, as their horn section provided crossover appeal to that music audience. According to Wikipedia, the band was together from 1973 to 1985. After a six-year “retirement”, KC reformed The Sunshine Band in 1991, and recorded a few more albums, and have toured regularly ever since then. KC And The Sunshine Band are currently on tour, but according to the band’s official website, the nearest they will be to the both of you in Baltimore, will be at The New Jersey Festival Of Ballooning, on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
Also love the Bell Bottoms.I'm 66 and love all 50,60,70 and 80'music
