Man, we always had to get up and DANCE when KC and the Sunshine Band came on the radio. Their songs were a bit repetitious but since they were made for fun and dancing and were popular at the old time roller skating rink, we didn't care if most of their songs weren't exactly "deep" lyric wise, ha.
The 70's and 80's are the best period for groove with real instruments, KC, Chic, Temptations, Commodores, and many others. My son is 24 years old and it's not his era, yet with his buddies, he doesn't miss any nostalgia night where we go dancing. Definitely the best 🎉😊

I always thought that the younger rapper-types, ( I don't mean to generalize about the reactor, but he seems like he would fit into that genre), would enjoy the old funk, soul and disco tunes. But now I know that they do seem to like the roots of their current trends. Which is cool. It makes sense.
It's true disco. I know this to be true. I was there. Dancing at the clubs with my disco partner, we practiced together every weekend during the day, then hit the clubs. KC and that bad ass band was magic. The brass section was so damn hot.
