Just one of the best songs ever, that's all! No one could not like this song, or Kool and the Gang in general. I grew up with their music & it made life so wonderful.
This was my Uncle favorite song. He would be drunk as cooter Brown and as soon as he would hear this song he would break out dancing and singing. He danced like Bobby Brown and he was in his fifties then. He was a beloved family member and throughout the community. RIP Unk.
Haven’t heard the phrase “Cooter Brown” in a long time. Brought a smile to my face, made me think of my dad and his sisters. They were something else 😊😊
@Sadielady16 , Thank you so much for your response, and Happy New Year to you and yours. May it be filled with laughter, joy and peace. I knew when I put the phrase " drunk as Cooter Brown" I knew it would trigger the fond memories of their loved ones from down south. I'm talking about the ones deep down dirty south. Where it's unpaved dirt roads. Then you reach your beloved family members who greet you when the big hugs and smiles. Good food, good times and amazing memories. I myself wouldn't change my experiences with those memories for nothing in this world. Again thank you and peace and blessings.
@@Sadielady16 , I forgot to share something with you to make you laugh. Check out Jerry Clower and Uncle Versie and the State Trooper. Let me know if you laugh your butt off.😁👍
You know there were occasions that Kool & the Gang co-billed concerts with KC and the Sunshine Band..... anyone that got to see that show, got their money's worth for sure!
James "J.T." Taylor joined Kool & the Gang in 1979 and remained with the group for nine years. His tenure as lead singer was the most successful era in the band's history with the albums Ladies' Night (1979), Celebrate! (1980) and Emergency (1984) and hit singles including "Ladies' Night", the US No. 1 "Celebration", "Get Down on It", "Joanna", "Misled" and "Cherish" and "Fresh". He returned to the popularity to the band.
KOOL & THE GANG - " Fresh " 1980s R&B SOUL Dancefloor Classics// Also a Similar sounding artist from 1970s THE BLACKBYRDS - " Walking In Rhythm " (Movin' In Sound) SOUL FUNK & R&B JAZZ Classics 🎸🎹 its FIRE! + one more artist HEATWAVE - " The Groove Line (Audio) " FULL LENGTH SONG I highly recommend all 3 Movin' and Groovin' JAMS
Repetitive songs don't do it for me; however, when it comes to Funk, like this great song, I could listen to it for 10 minutes. That groove is undeniable.
"Git yer back up off the wall!" That groove is so enticing and contagious, though I've always wished that they would have made greater use of the horns. Where they did add them, though, they were tastefully placed. (Musically, I just have a "brassier is sassier" mindset, lol.) If you'd like to hear more legendary r&b dance music, try Earth, Wind, & Fire's "Let's Groove" or "September".
This is one of those songs that as a 14 year old in the 70's, wearing a Kiss T-shirt and jeans you wouldn't be caught dead listening to. So, I had to be a closet disco fan! I know that's pathetic looking back, but it was serious at the time! 😂
The first K&G I heard at a new disco, when disco was just starting, sitting listening to Hollywood swinging, while stars spun around the room off the mirror ball!
S U N ~ " Turn Out The Light " R&B SOUL / SOFT ROCK and absolutely FIRE song right from the get go this group has some of the very best Musical Production of 1982 from the Bass Slap to the Drums & Keyboard sounds and great Vocals. And an Epic Guitar Solo it's absolutely FIRE! from start to finish 🎸 🎹💯🔥 Highly recommend this 80's band that was highly recommended by YT. and now I highly recommend it to you guys. There is so many groups from the 70s & 80s groups that have a similarity in sound to the really well known groups like Kool & the gang I really think youguys will really really enjoy this group too. They're FANTASTIC
So, "Kool" is the guy in Green, it is his band. The lead singer in Red came in as a replacement. They are the only two living original members and were just inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You want funky? Listen to Hollywood Shuffle. Oh and there is a French guy that is bringing Funk like this and The Bar-Kays back. Dabuell is his name.
For Remembrance Day (called veterans day in the u.s.), you guys should do *"Highway Of Heroes",* the official video, by *The Trews.* The history of the song is touching as hell.
You mentioned how loose it sounded, as I’ve always felt the mark of great funk is when it sounds like the whole band could fall apart at any moment, but while they stay together they’re riding the pocket.
There funkiest " Funky Stuff" (1973) Later became more pop, dance. Still very good but I way prefer the early Funk 🔥 Check Funky Stuff and you'll hear exactly what I'm talking about!!
Great Funk song by Kool & The Gang. Y'all should also do "Jungle Boogie" which is another great Funk song from 1976 and "Misled" which is a nice Hard Funk/Rock song with a GREAT guitar riff AND solo. Y'all should also do "Get Down To It" by Humble Pie from 1973. Love ya guys!!
Honey, I'll always love you I promise I'll always love you 'Cause I think the whole world of you And you can't change that, no, no There's nothing you can do or say I thought about this for many a day And my mind's made up to feel this way And you can't change that 'Cause you're the only one I love And you can't change that You're the only one I need And you can't change that 😎❤🎶
Apple Music's ranking is only relevant to Apple Music users... this is a good song but Celebration and Joanna were far, FAR bigger hits. This song didn't get anywhere near the airplay on pop radio that their earlier hits got. The only thing notable about this song is it was their first hit single in the UK.
Could you please send me my $75.00 I sent you months ago for a Dream Theater request? As far as I'm concerned you stole from me by NOT playing my request. I am done with you and I am contacting RUclips to have you channel removed. What you did is illegal and will be punished.
My gawd. This guy's voice is smooth, melted chocolate. He is SUCH a good singer & vocalist! Soooo elegant!
Hey guys! Great pick!! Kool & the Gang was a staple of the 70s and 80s. Happy and fun music and a seriously talented band!
I love this funky music. It's hard to sit still with this great sound.
great reaction and congrats to kool & the gang on being inducted into the Rock & roll hall of fame !
They soooo deserve it. They've brought endless joy to so many & will continue to do so for as long as people are listening to music.
Omg I was 12 when this was on the radio watching my older sisters get ready to go to the disco lol so much fun dancing
Just one of the best songs ever, that's all! No one could not like this song, or Kool and the Gang in general. I grew up with their music & it made life so wonderful.
Absolutely 🔥
More more please

Such a fun band!! “Celebration” is epic!! Try a similar sound from a song “Rubberband Man” by the Spinners!! 🤘🔥
Ladies Night, Joanna, Mislead, Too Hot, and Celebration just to name a few ❤
Ladies Night, and (Take My Heart) You Can Have It are my two favorites

This is true. I like all those songs and LOVE "Misled."
A lot of great songs….Big Fun, Too Hot, Celebration, Ladies Night 🔥🔥🔥
Jungle Boogie is funky as hell.
my first concert was Kool and the gang..... back in 1977 when i was 10...how cool
One of the all-time "put a pep in your step" songs. Instant mood change when this song comes on.
You're right -- how can you not like this song ?
Such a Groove!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys for putting some of these gems on your channel.
Brilliant, still hear it here in the UK ❤

Saw them live with K C and the Sunshine Band! Awesome show🔥🔥
My favorite Kool & the Gang song!
Thank you for being transparent: REVIEW, not a reaction. That said, 2:39 Ryan, I peeped doing ‘The Prep’. 👊🏾😉😎
KC and the Sunshine Band please.
Repetitive songs don't do it for me; however, when it comes to Funk, like this great song, I could listen to it for 10 minutes. That groove is undeniable.
"Hollywood Swinging' is a great, early song of theirs. Prince did an amazing live cover of it, too, so you know it's good, lol.
Party🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Dance all night long!!!
thx guys! love this song by kool & the gang ! cant wait to see ur others !
Thanks, going on the workout mix.
JT Taylor's voice is so friendly and smooth. Even back when I was a little kid when this era was new.
This song encouraged people to dance. Eventually, one will dance.
Oh wow! Great pick. Have you done KC & the Sunshine Band?
"Git yer back up off the wall!"

SO fun and funky yeah!
I miss the 80s such good songs back then for the most part and this group had a lot of them
Good one guys, nice and funky!💃💃

If this doesn’t put some pep in your step, you’re just dead.
The first K&G I heard at a new disco, when disco was just starting, sitting listening to Hollywood swinging, while stars spun around the room off the mirror ball!
Check out Misled, Johanna, and Fresh by Kool And The Gang.
Great song that you can't help but move to...

Hollywood Swinging...another classic...
I needed this. Sorry I see it sooner.
Ladies Night is a jam!

Luther Vandross....Never too much
All the best....fantastic tune this one
Huge in Mzansi
This got all the girls on the floor..which is GOOD!
Younger dudes probably know this from Nelly " ride wit me"
You mentioned how loose it sounded, as I’ve always felt the mark of great funk is when it sounds like the whole band could fall apart at any moment, but while they stay together they’re riding the pocket.
Very cool definition
Aww man I'd like to dance with Ryan! 😂😂😂😂
"Fresh" is their best song, IMO.
There funkiest
" Funky Stuff" (1973)
Later became more pop, dance. Still very good but I way prefer the early Funk 🔥
Check Funky Stuff and you'll hear exactly what I'm talking about!!
I know how much I love this song and use it all the time with my friends. But just looking at you on the thumbnail - I'd say you loved it too!!!! ❤🎉
Two K&G outliers.... Misled and Tonight
*P.S.:* Also do "Can You Feel It" by The Jacksons in 1980!! Full-length 6-minute album version!!
O)))0(((((0oooO)))))
"Fresh" is The Song.
"Jungle Boogie"
Good music
This reminds me of NYC at the St. Genaro Italian Feast. They have radio stations there playing music.

👋 One of my favorites! Move & groove! Can not like this song. Right?
Kool and The Gang had alot of great hits, my favorite is "Celebration." You should check it out.
Matthew wilder, rich and famous!
Please react to 'you can't change that' by Ray Parker Jr. It's similar to this song and I think you guys will really like it!
Honey, I'll always love you
I promise I'll always love you
'Cause I think the whole world of you
And you can't change that, no, no
There's nothing you can do or say
I thought about this for many a day
And my mind's made up to feel this way
And you can't change that
'Cause you're the only one I love
And you can't change that
You're the only one I need
And you can't change that
