STAR TREK V - NEW VFX 7 - SHUTTLE RESCUE (NEW VERSION)

- Since I wasn't so happy with this part, I reworked some scenes. The shadows have been corrected and the lighting improved. The shuttle crash has now got more details. The drive is switched off, the speed is reduced and the shuttle now loses its nacelle when it hits the ramp.
Have fun watching - Кино
STV gets a lot of flak, but it is one of the few times we get to see "Why don't they just warp out?"
And Chekov does, indeed, warp them out.
THESE special effects are enough to make this movie all the better. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Sybok: “OK, beam everybody up.“
Kirk: “Yeah…about that…”
🤣🤣🤣
The transporter was all screwed up as usual, so they couldn't beam up.
How ever this incident with the shuttle crashing in like that had McCoy overlooking how the shuttle was safer than the transporter.
"Actually its me first attempt." Takei said this so deadpan that it was funny as hell.
The Enterprise warping to avoid a Klingon torpedo is really good in Star Trek V
Can't help it, still my favorite. When u finish it all, send us a full movie, will gladly make that grab!! Great work!
here here!
I didn't even notice you did anything, and that's the best compliment you can get. You blended it so well I didn't get taken out of the scene by your work.
Good job.
Paramount should've allowed Shatner to do a directors cut for dvd release
I like it. Wish the studio would allow a director's cut with new f/x.
So much more DRAMATIC than the original. Well done.
I wish we could get STV redone with these effects.
An excellent update to your upgrade! The impact of Galileo on the hull seemed oddly jarring before. With your tweaks, it looks great. Keep it up. I am really enjoying your replacement FX and even these minor refinements.
I know it is outside the scope of what you are doing, but I wish someone could go in and update a few of the graphics, too, such as that tracking monitor Scotty is using. Not to mention the 78 decks. Uh, actually, let's NOT mention the 78 decks. LOL!
Brilliant, you have really breathed life into this scene. I have read that Paramount wouldnt let Shatner make a directors cut, even though he apparently would have been prepared to pay for it himself. Such a shame with the 4K version out soon. Those original effects arent gonna look any better in 4k thats for sure!
Great job! The torpedo is no longer the size of a football stadium! 🤣
The "A" looks beautiful
Very very well done. Actually better then the movie itself.
I like that the bridge noise on the Klingon ship is the Martian War Machine noise from the old War of the Worlds.
Execute emergency landing plan "B"
What?
B! as in barricade!
What?
Nice one, the approaching Klingon was wonderfully dynamic. The shuttle felt a bit slow in the end before colliding with the entrance, making it look a bit tamer than the original. I'm conflicted here on one side I'd reason that Sulu, being the "very good at it" guy he is knew fully well that crashing in at full speed would be catastrophic to both shuttle and ship and would slow down just enough to make everyone rattled enough to have a chance wrestling control from Saibok and his cronies. On the other hand, the impact had to be strong enough to be accurate, and in space, nothing stops your mmentum, so speed is speed either way.
Hopefully when you’re done with your amazing work a fan cut of the movie can be made!
I enjoyed this sequence. More for the enhanced version in my mind than what we saw on screen. This version is very much how I prefer to remember it.
AWESOME!!!!!
The new VFX looks good.
Excellent as usual, my friend!
Perfectly done!!
Excellent!
Oh, yeah! I like this. Good work!
This is really cool! makes the movie tolerable at least! The shot of the shuttle @4:38 reminds me of a malfunctioning Spaceship Earth Ride at Epcot
SO much better
👍
And in today's clip, the part of Nimbus III will be played by Arrakis.
Send this to CBS/Paramount. I mean, they might remaster the TOS films just like they did with the show on DVD.
At least a 100% improvement over the original.
Jerry Goldsmith!
the rendering is nice but the framing of action is off. For example in the first shot we see the enterprise in orbit flying around the planet travelling from left of screen to the right of screen, the next time we see it is in a reverse angle shot but the planet is now on the right of screen with the Enterprise flying to the left of shot. Another good example is the shuttle crash flying into the bay from right of screen to the left, then when it cuts tot he full size prop it's travelling from left of screen to right this pops you out of the edit. If the render was flipped so the shuttle travels from left to right as it enters the bay the cut would gel a lot better.
You make STV to a much better ST.
wow
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This movie has always been weird them getting bested by sybok and without even so much as a real fight
23rd Century trumpism? Actually more about self delusion and "religious fanaticism" rather like TOS episode The way to Eden. It's so because I believe it and blah, blah, almost get everybody killed.
Where can we find your amazing version ?
Another great Soviet vs American submarines-in-space movie.
DOWN PERISCOPE.. KA PLAGH!! 😆
Has anyone assembled a completed version of the film using these?
I don't know but that would be nice
Why didn't you fix the Klingon sensor graphic of the shuttlecraft? It looks like it's a motorcycle popping a wheelie
then I would have to adjust all the displays on the Enterprise Bridge so that it remains consistent. I think it's 80s style and fits in with the times
@@HIKEANIMATION Logically, why would the enterprise bridge display readout be the same as a Klingon bridge display readout? It should only be needed for that one close up.
I have a fondness for Star Trek V and you obviously do as well so I know this is just a nitpick. These improvements are incredible which is why the original graphic of the Shuttercraft slanted sticks out all the more.
I really love this movie and I am a big fan of the Klingons and the Klingon empire .... But to be real for this movie I think the Romulans would have been better enemy's for star trek 5
You need to add a little film grain and 24fps to blend in with the stock footage, otherwise really good.
Film Grain ist used and of course all used footage ist converted to 24fps. Unfortunately yt destroys the quality of the dark scenes because of the strong compression.
I've seen the other clips, Very Good overall, but the barricade scene isn't quite as good as the original, imho.
The original shot of the weapon discharge missing is better. Whoever made this should have kept that perspective in and updated it. Replacement scene isn't as clever nor emphasises how close the Enterprise crew were to getting wrecked.
Sybok is just STUPID.
Klingon ship is here and about to throw down with the Enterprise and he's like "We're running right up into that shit". Kirk AND Korrd tell him it's a bad idea and he says "fuck staying alive, we're going in!"
It's a great set piece, but I HATE Sybok.
This movie could of been good with a few more rewrites and obviously with the great special effects you did. For example ( I’m going to geek out) with this scene, instead of the whole Sulu manually landing the shuttle craft without a tractor beam ( which he should really know how to do) it should of been the enterprise had to reverse back quickly to meet the shuttle craft half way as the shuttle craft came on at a high rate of speed making it difficult to manually dock in the docking bay. … I know I know still stupid and nerdy but better than making Sulu sound dumb.
Agreed. He manually landed the Bird of Prey in TSFS and said "It's been a while" which means he has made attempts at other manual landings with various ships. You would think a shuttlecraft would have been among them.
KIRK MIGHT BE ABLE TO BEAT ANY KLINGON IN HAND TO HAND COMBAT BUT NEVER A VULCAN, OLD OR NOT, SOUROK OR WHATEVER HIS NAME IS, WAY STRONGER!!!
I'm sorry, the original was slightly better.
Nope
