- Sewing machines are style game changers. What's crazy is they are that way right out of the box. But what will make your tailoring projects even easier are buying extra presser feet. There are a lot of different ones out there, but in this video I will be giving you a run down of my go tos. Those are spring action zigzag feet, blind hem feet, non-stick feet, and a few others!

Finally someone who explains it with easy words. I've been watching other videos and usually they use big seamstressy-ish words. Also I would usually fall asleep because of how boring it is. You on the other hand get me all pumped up for sewing.
LOL, thats have the reason why I structure my channel the way I do, it's SO easy to make this stuff boring and complicated!
People needed this video, more than you know.
Oh I'm sure!
You should totally do a video on how to make specialized cases like you mentioned. I'd like that video. 🙂
You explained this so nicely it makes me want to get back into sewing and hemming! (Haven't done much since my teen years). Thank you!
I never knew it was so many different attachments to a sewing machine, great video S.D. Class dismissed, peace out ✌🏾
Thank you so much for sharing this
You’re welcome!
Great video, SD. I’ve been wondering about other presser feet 🤓 Also looks like you’re quickly heading to 100K 🎊✨🔥
Thank you brother
Thank you again sir for the guidance, I'll look for that 42 pc set just to make sure when I start on the weekend, very excited !
When does your sewing machine arrive? Super excited for ya!
@@StylishDTailors it has arrived today! I wont be able to work on it until I have some free time on Saturday and Monday but I'm super excited too ive been watching your videos again to keep the mind fresh and cant wait to get rid of this baggy crap as you would say 😁
@@StylishDTailors hey sir I bought the 42 pc set and it came in the mail today but I'm at work (as always😥😪) but the hem rolled one, I'm wondering if you can use it to make hem rolls for jeans if you want the hem roll on the inside of them?
@@StylishDTailors never mind brother I just said forget it and bought the one you had in the link lol
Oh hey you can call me the weather man, cause I forecasted the next video!
Haha! It was actually finished and uploaded when you commented.
Commenting for the algo. This is quality.
Almighty Algo rules all!
Thanks D. I have an old JoAnn Fabrics sewing machine I got from goodwill. What do you think might be the shank? I need to get one. Thanks again.
Hey man. Fyi, you do use a straight stitch with a zipper foot because the plastic fin (on yours) forces you to offset the foot to one side or the other. 😊
This video was super useful!! What other presser feet do you recommend for hemming jeans?
A spring action presser foot is a game changer! It can go over the hems way easier!
I didn’t know they made a spring action jeans foot. I’ve always used a piece of folded up cardboard to raise the back of my presser foot to go over bulky seams. It works but I’d rather not. 😄
I totally hear you on improvising haha! Definitely check out that presser foot, I can't imagine sewing jeans without it now!
And to think using a sewing machine powered by a Gameboy was too much (yes, it does exist.)
My experiences have been mainly the standard, blind hem, and buttonhole. For some reason, I have not been able to do a good enough tailoring job with the blind hem foot, resulting in tailoring dress pants by hand. As for the buttonhole foot, the idea to make a necktie inspired by a coat came up, and similarly, trying to find a consistency in alignment was an issue (and after typing this, I am beginning to wonder if my old sewing machine did not like me.)
Is there a disadvantage to using the (spring-action) zig zag foot all the time for regular straight/zig zag stitching needs, since it can be used on jeans? I don't see the downside unless they have some weakness that the standard presser foot.
Nope, mines been attached to my machine for weeks now
@@StylishDTailors thanks!
I broke another needle on my brother. Learned his presser foot doesn't have that button thingy. I wonder if he has a belly button... *SEWING* *SOOOOO-ING* *ADDICTING-ING *...inginging (sound of sewing machine)
Lol @ inginginging. What have I started!
