    So hard to pick just one. I grew up with an all-purpose foot and a button hole foot. In the last 15 years (over 70 now), I finally got a walking foot (so, so great for knits as I wouldn't buy stretch fabric because my regular foot stretched it all over the place), as well as just general sewing. It feeds any fabric so evenly that you get great results. Then I purchased a presser foot kit with many feet and find I use the edge foot and overcast foot the most. However, I am learning as I go and mastering the rolled hem foot would be very rewarding as well. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us -- love learning about sewing even tho it's been a lifetime already!

    I had an amazing Pfaff in the early 1970s that had a built in walking foot. It was the best machine ever.

    love my edge foot . I use it for stitching in the ditch when quilting, and for joining pieces of batting with a zigzag stitch but I have never used it to hem close to the edge like this! Will definitely try it.I also love my 1/4in foot but I use one without the guide - I just use the edge of the foot on the edge of the fabric. Thank you for this video.

    What you refer to as The edge stitch I know as a stitch in the ditch foot. I love how you use it! I can't wait to try it out! My mind is blown. I have 50 feet from a kit I bought. I love finding new ways to use the feet, they make sewing so much easier! Thank you for the video!

    Thank you so much for this. I grew up with 2 feet, the all purpose and the zipper foot. I know more existed because I inherited a bunch of mysterious feet from my grandmother. Now, I'm getting back into sewing after about 20 years and I'm very excited to explore all the feet I never knew about so this is a very timely tutorial

    Thanks so much for this video! I think I have that rolled hemming foot but for my elderly but very functional PFAFF 1222E! She is a pretty old girl, I purchased her in 1977 when I sewed my own clothing and designs for a small boutique in the town I lived in.. Fast forward to the pandemic and here I am at it again! I noticed you are sewing on a BabyLock! Which model do you have and do you love it? Eventually, I will have to replace my Pfaff or at least move her down to be my backup....so I might as well start my shopping journey..so I don't get caught with my knickers down...

    I love your take on the edge foot. Never thought of using it like that. I have tried the rolled hem foot a couple of times with varied success. Will try your method for sure. But I have a question. Can you turn corners with the rolled hem foot or do you need to start each new side separately? Thanks in advance.😊

    I just started sewing and am using a vintage machine. Not sure if it’s me or the machine but the material always pulls to the left as it goes through. Is that something the edger foot could help with?

    on your first example of using the walking foot for the knit hems, what stitch did you use? That looks like a great way to hem knits without overstitch!

    • @SimplyDelilah
      @SimplyDelilah  2 года назад

      I serger the ends then I used a straight stitch when I folded in the fabric to hem

      @connie6690 2 года назад +1

      Try using a twin needle. It gives a nice finish on knits without a serger.

      @@connie6690I must find a twin needle tutorial because I have never managed to get it to work. I end up with knots and have to spend hours freeing the machine (slight exaggeration but you get the drift) but I really love the idea. My next challenge so thank you for mentioning 🙏

    Hello, do you happen to know the no brand sewing machine foot sets that come in 16, 32, and 42 feet per box? Are they okay to use or are they bad quality feet?
    Is it okay to buy them, or would you recommend buying branded ones? If branded ones are better, which one is better, Singer or Janome? Thank you.

    I am brand new at this and was thinking about investing in a kit of 32 feet. Do you think this is wise and will make things easy as I progress or do you think it is better to buy one at a time as I learn how to use them? Yeah, I do have a Y chromosome, but I need the best advice on this!
