"What a piece of work a man is!" (Wm. Shakespeare from 'Hamlet') That's what I have to say about you. Incredible how well you look after that ordeal. Wonderful. Take the time to rest.
I did my liver resection 4 weeks ago had to be convinced to walk the very next day,not over enthusiastically roam around the corridors of the hospital was discharged 10 days later. Since then everyday walking the dogs 3km in the morning 3 in the evening,as a cyclist cannot wait to be told its ok to ride the surgeon said 8 weeks its already five got the big scar no robot only an expert and friendly hands ! only the nights are not so good they were not even before so no worries all in all for 78 years cannot complaino
I found you only through scrolling RUclips...I'm so glad. I was sad when I was diagnosed because I have a new grandchild. After seeing you since 2023 I have been greatly incorraged that I'm taking a better attitude. I thank God every day for another one. Prayers for you, also. Going to have another procedure on Monday to remove a tumor on my liver and two cysts on my right kidney. God bless you!
all these surgeries for nothing , I wonder if he would have had the same life expectancy without all this but enjoyed his last years ,,we would never know I guess
Yeah, but that’s how most people deal with cancer, since if you don’t, most of the time you do die even earlier. So the idea is to prolong your life, which isn’t always a good thing when there’s a lot of suffering.
So happy to see how well you look for just having major surgery. Keep moving but don’t over do it. Will your family be with you for the next couple weeks while you are healing? The weather looks fantastic -(jealous). Ohio is cold gloomy looking this time of year. Thank you for the update. Keep rocking it!
It was so great talking to you on Wednesday. Your positivity is infectious. Super impressed by all your efforts and how well you are handling all of this. Marisa and I just watched this video together. Thank you so much for keeping us posted. You are in our thoughts and hearts. Can’t wait to come see you sometime in the near future. 👏🏻😍👏🏻
Glad to hear the surgery went well and you are doing so good after it. Keep doing what you are doing, Dr. Dan. Continued prayers and enjoy the time with your family.
Whoa you are just amazing. So glad you have your family around you. ❤ thinking of you and sending you so much love and respect. Just take care. 😊. From Rosie O from Devon, England 🏴
This is incredible. Look at the PT trying to keep up with you going up the steps😂Man. I thought I was strong walking up and down the hospital steps for a neuro rotation in med school 6 days post op. Slowly. Lol. You are a gem!
You're a beast my friend. I am having the right side of my liver resected in 2 weeks. I just had a PVE done to increase the volume on the left side. Had almost no side effects after this procedure. Your video is an inspiration.
Surgery , opening the body, those are gas pains that have floated up to ur shoulder. I’ve had several laparoscopic surgeries and dealt with it every time. Happy for your progress! Keep it up.
I didn’t realize this was 2 years old. I see your in hospice now. Praying for you. Please review what is newly being tested, dig worming medicine. One man waited until no other options and was sent to hospice. He is still alive. Worth looking into it. My local news station told a story on it. Bless you
Yes i also had shoulder pain after having my gall bladder out laparoscopicly. I was warned it would be from the gas after they inflate your abdomen with air. ! Also rewatching all Dan's videos.
@@tobiasisback4605 What your saying is absolutely true and a good point, but positivity has been shown to improve immune function. Stress does the opposite. All other things being equal, people that think positively live longer, form better relationships, and increases resilience. There is no guarantees in life and luck is always a factor, but a positive wellbeing is always the healthier choice.
RIP Dr.Dan, you will always be here with us.
What a guy!
“I won’t flash you, I promise”
Such a great sense of humor under fire. Young people describe this as “legendary”

The pain is from the carbon dioxide that they use to open up the area to see better during the procedure.
Exactly. Can’t believe the surgeon didn’t say that.
It happens with a hysterectomy as well, the gas they use to distend the abdominal area to get to the organs causes major gas pains in the shoulders.
Goodnight Dr. Dan ❤😢 x

Hope you’re doing better? It’s so hard going through serious health problems. BTW, it’s “encouraged,” not “incorraged.”
Shoulder tip pain is a common occurrence with prolonged laparoscopic surgery. So I’m guessing you had that?
Look at you go!! You’re incredible and an inspiration! Praying for continued good health!

Post liver surgery hike 😅. You are amazing ❤
About the scar, is that now the standard at every hospital? Or is it different depending on the hospital

Have some electrolytes and a table spoon or two of olive oil can do wonders if the fasting is difficult.

Amazing and Fantastic

Rough stitching.
Great great news! 🙏🏾
I am quite sure that 'positivity' plays no part whatsoever in cancer survival or not.
Wow, you're hopeless.
@@mattd6200 No. It means you can be as negative as you like and survive.
