  • Hello this is Nick with Albert Air and today we are looking at a new Carrier furnace, coil and ducts that we just installed in an attic.

And if you are located in the ORANGE COUNTY, CA area and would like me to give you a free estimate on these CARRIER systems OR ANY OTHER SYSTERMS please fell free to reach out to me.
Today I am showing you the installation of a new Carrier Comfort Series ULN 95% AFUE gas furnace, evaporator coil and all new ducts. We moved this system from a hallway closet to the attic. I’m going to go through this system and show you what we did and give you some info about the equipment and ducts that we installed.
So, let’s get right into it.
We are looking at a Carrier Comfort Series Ultra Low Nox single speed furnace that 95% gas efficient. The model # is 59Su5A060E1716.
    - We moved this furnace from a closet to the attic because the old furnace was extremely noisy and at the end of it’s life.
    - So we removed the old furnace from the closet, closed up the holes on the top and bottom of the closet, ran the gas line to the new location along with the electrical.
    - We also had to cut a new larger attic access to get the furnace into the attic, we have a platform in front of it and added a light, switch and have it on hangers suspended.
    - We had to run a new PVC flue vent for the this furnace and because it is 95% we can run it horizontally out the side of the house.
We also installed a new horizontal evaporator coil. This is an ADP 4 ton high efficiency coil - model # (C48H175P159 )that matches with this system. Under it we have a drain pan with the primary and secondary drain lines going outside and then a kill switch on the pan. It is to a Carrier slime line condenser 38MURAQ48AA3 outside with these new refrigerant lines. Check out my other video on the outside condenser where I go over that part of the installation.
Finally we did all new ducts.
We had the old Asbestos ducts removed by an Asbestos contractor before we started the work. Once they were gone we are able to come in and check the sizes of all the register boxes and design the new ductwork
The old Asbestos ducts are only sized for heating and and very inefficient.
So, the new R-8 flex ducts we installed are larger in diameter, sealed properly, have balancing dampers to control airflow if needed and also we installed all new grills that allow for better airflow distribution.
We put new supply and return plenums furnace and coil here and here with new enlarged start collars the our new ducts attach to.
We also added two new return ducts with grills in the back hallway by the bedrooms and in the front living area. This will help pull out heat from both sides of the house making it a more balanced system when running.
SO LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUEESTIONS OR WOULD MORE INFO ON THIS SYSTEMS OR ANY OTHER CARRIER SYTSEM. Make sure you check out my other videos on my channel. AS ALWAYS PLEASE LIKE THIS VIDEO AND SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL

How do you size the ductwork for each room?

    • @albertairinc.1140
      @albertairinc.1140  Месяц назад

It is based on sq/ft of room, ceiling height, insulation, windows, etc...

I have never seen this type of heating system in Europe, is it more efficient than the radiator systems we have here?

Yes, this would more efficient than a radiant heat system. Europe has different housing and architecture so the system available to you would be different than in America.
