Guess them guys never heard of mastic. They sealed the seams on the round pipe with silver duct tape, didn’t seal the boots to the floor, and probably sealed the takeoffs with tape if they sealed them at all. Panned off return instead of a plenum or squared to round, no isolation pads under air handler. I could go on but I’ll stop there. We wouldn’t pass inspection doing work like that around here.

  • @AaronPowellvox

I bet you can feel the vibrations when that unit is on. They had no isolation from the unistrut to the unit. I mean they could have at least slapped some rubber pads under it. I’m curious to know if it’s loud mounted like that with no isolation.

It is absolutely crucial that you make a well designed, with maintenance friendly, with built in and Tight duct work installation in order to get the most efficient system. I think it should be code to also have a light for crawlspaces. Remember, it takes $ to stay comfortable so you want something good on ⚡⚡

Dang. At 14:22 I’d be cussing those installers for running that duct right in front of that unit if I was a tech coming in to fix it. No room for the tech when they had all the room in the world to work with. A little forethought goes a long way.
