  • In this video I explain exactly what it takes to add the factory 115v outlet/power inverter to a 4th gen Ram. I’ve seen a lot of posts lately on Facebook where people just assume all they need to do is add the outlet because they “already have the wiring”. That is not the case at all. In addition to the wiring and parts I discuss in this video, I also forgot to mention that programming is required. I used Alfaobd to turn mine on. I will have a more detailed installation video in the near future for anyone who wants to attempt this install.
    *Fuse 38 is the factory fuse for the inverter. It takes a 30A fuse.

    Man thanks for the info it pisses me off more that Mopar couldn’t just do this from the beginning instead of us buyers having to go out our way to get this 🤦🏻‍♂️ this is just like the damn cabin filter you either have to have them cut it out for you or you can do it yourself but why in the hell we have to do anything ourselves if we are paying over $30k for a brand new Truck
    The only two damn problems I have with RAM everything else have been great

    Great video and information!!!
    Aftermarket definitely seems like the way to go for me; especially for that power level. You can get the Plug and Play cigarette lighter style that can provide that or more power.
    Thanks

    Did you decide to make and sell any of that wiring? If so, would it be possible to get just the power wire that goes from under the hood into the cab? I have the rest from the donor truck I had.

    Its a great video. I have a 4th Generation Express and have been thinking of installing the Power Inverter. That said I have the Plug for the Dash which was easy to track down however I wasn't sure how, where the wires were to install the inverter. Can you post the OEM Part Numbers for the items (wire harnesses) and Power Inverter that you showed in your Video? I am especially curious about the Yellow Plug under the Seat as I do not that at all under my passenger seat. Found your 2nd Video however again would love to have the Part Numbers you mentioned.

    I know this is an old video and this may be a crapshoot, but you seem to be the guy with the most knowledge about this. I am trying to find the wiring diagram for the back of the outlet itself. I installed an auxiliary battery and my goal is to install an aftermarket power inverter to the auxiliary battery and wire this outlet to that, instead of through the starter battery and mopar wire harness. Would you happen to know that wiring diagram for the rear plug of that outlet?

    I bought the inverter, the parts for dash. I knew wiring needed ram but I could find a kit to buy. So I was gonna make it. If you don’t mind me asking, did you buy the wiring kit or did you make the kit? If you bought it where? If you made it, would u mind me asking some more questions? I simply have been trying to find out what type of pins I need

    • @deanrsnowiii
      @deanrsnowiii Год назад

      I’m going to run oem style the whole way to the inverter itself. Then I’m using an aftermarket high quality sine wave inverter under the seat. I’m going to upgrade wiring to 12 gauge from the plug to the lock panel. Then run 12gauge from kick panel under seat. Also adding an inline circuit breaker for a/c. But my hold up is attempting to find the correct pins at the kick panel and Under seat. I don’t need the oem inverter connector pins or connector itself since it will be different. Thanks in advance
