- Do you have a lower model truck and want to upgrade to leather and have all the audio controls? Well this is how to swap your wheel out with another one in a simple process. If you just wanna remove your wheel and add the audio controls you can also do that. I upgraded to the leather wheel in this process. I have around $100 in the swap just to add the audio controls to the wheel that came on the truck was around $130 so I figured a swap was a better option. That is one brave mechanic to remove that airbag without disconnecting the battery. I've removed those many times without incident and have seen people try to remove them and almost get killed when the airbag deployed. Glad it worked out though.

little late here..... regarding the wiring is it just plug the harness back in? You didnt show where the electrical harness was connected at, and if you just plug it back in without having to rewire anything? About to do this swap myself but want to make sure its just plug and play, like if i need to rewire the harness to accomodate the radio control back buttons?
You guys should figure out how to add adaptive cruise without buying a new truck.

Looks like I should shut my mouth. I purchased on 1/7/2020 for 47.44 shipped from all mopar parts.com. They have it up to 146.28! Crazy, I must have got a steal or they had it mispriced when I purchased. Sorry bud!

Awww man, I miss driving a manual... What I don't like about my steering wheel is I can't goose the horn; the only option seems to be this loud obnoxious blast.

Swapped in the same cluster to my 13 express, but I don’t get the Ram animation on start up. It goes straight to a TPMS reading failure and the fuel mileage isn’t accurate. Any help?
I have a ram 2014 ram 1500 that for some reason the cruise control button has stopped working (i think its jammed) do you think if i replace the steering wheel like in your video it could fix my issue?

I got here seeing what 40's on 20" rims look like but for my 17 MegaCab and found the 3500 stuff. Mine is Longhorn (Lonestar for Texas) only missing a couple of the nice things that a Laramie doesn't have and the OBD changes I know that can be done.
Only thing probably hardest to do is the surround sound and woofer Alpine stereo from a Bighorn to put in Tradesman, as the speakers in the roof in the rear make it sound nice.
And funny, I just got back yesterday from whole family trip to Tennessee, just east side of center of Tennessee. If we randomly saw you, I would have said "look honey your color on my truck". She likes Ryobi similar color of green.

Where did you buy the steering wheel. I need a new one on my Laramie. For some reason my leather steering wheel is delaminating at the top pretty badly. It’s driving me nuts. I miss my G56 transmission, however I also have the Aisin which I love.

What would it take to get your backup camera to show up on the 8 inch screen? Do you need a new camera wiring or a programming issue?
Nick Barry I have to pin it to the back of the video output on the radio. Never got to that yet doesn’t really bother me I can see it in my rear view camera

a few minutes for a tech...your bill won't be a few minutes! You got a hook up...not everyone can do this.
Why you dont have the backup camera signal in the radio? Is easy to get that signal.

So.. not a matter of minutes.. it might cost you $100 for a wheel, but it's gonna cost majority of American's $500 in labor fees and a "2 hour install time" while they wait in a stealership lobby sipping stale coffee.

Is your truck a 2019 or 2018 I am trying to look for a kit that will plug and play but everywhere I look they are saying the steering wheel volume controls will not work on a 2019.
2018 a 2019 classic is the same
@7:03 I don't get it. There were only 2 plugs (yellow & black clips) that attached to the airbag. How does the new steering wheel audio controls communicate with the Uconnect radio? I've seen other videos for Ram trucks and they have an additional harness under the airbag. I have a 2021 2500 with 8 inch Uconnect and NO audio controls on the steering wheel. My old truck had them and I miss it. Local dealer said it can't be done. I desperately want controls on the steering wheel.
The factory wiring harness is there for the audio behind the bag from factory you just plug into them. It can be done you can buy them to add to your current wheel or swap the wheel like I did. It’s really simple
I think you only need the different clock spring if heated. If not heated the harness is always back there.
I tried to watch but I just can't do it. Over two minutes of riding around?? Just do something already. There may be something interesting at the end, I didn't make it that far. Such a waste.
