@@cjbarlow61 order abs module or pump from a place like mymoparparts.com or moparpartsonsale.com. They should have them available. Ordering from dealer is tricky because they all use different warehouses that may or may not have any in stock. ATL warehouse had like 130+ last time I looked
Great video! Finally someone talking about using AlfaOBD and explaining that for RAM 2019+ I needed a security module bypass cable. I bought the OBDLink MX+ and had no problem connecting to it and downloading truck ID information but I could NOT make any changes because the ECM was not responding back to my changes. I believe the missing piece was this Security Module Bypass cable, thank you!!
I have the mxlink+ on order with a Chrysler 12+8 programming cable. Is this going to work? Or do I need the security module bypass cable in addition to the 12+8? It’s so hard to find reliable good information about Alfaobd
@@zachderr213 Depending upon year, model, you might need a different security bypass cable as my truck is a 2020 1500 DS model and it does no have a security gateway module so the 12/8 bypass I bought was useless along with the later bypass cable I purchased (BOD) to plug directly into the can buss receptacles under the dash. That one came with a cable with two male plugs of the same size but the two buss bars have different diamter pins - so again - useless I have so far invested in the MDX + , the Alfa software, two different by pass cables and have wasted my money so don't get too intriqued with this until you firmly establish what your system actually has by way of security lock-out system.
Is there a list that describe the features we can change and/or enable . Some are self explanatory but others I have no clue what the feature description mean. Thanks
I have a 2014 RAM 1500 and am going to replace the ABS module myself to save the ridiculous money the RAM stealer wants and got the OBDLinksMX+ today and am looking to get the AlphaOBD. The OBDLinks is now good for iPhone. How do you back up your factory RAM settings on your truck in case I mess up configuration? Hands down the biggest waste of money I have spent on a tool in a long time. Harness...Software...OBDII device...all for nothing. Windows version of Alfaobd is absolutely trash and the company offers zero support. If you are looking for a more user friendly approach do NOT consider Alfaobd or any of this mess this guy is talking about. I am seeing more people having the same level of success I am having with these products than having the results show in this video....
What issues are you having? I have seen alot of people have success with this once they do a little research and ask for some help if needed. We use this and our hardware with zero issues on a regular.
Yes and I believe in every video you have displayed the use of it you are using an android tablet correct...? We have windows based tablets and laptops in my shop and though we can connect via bluetooth to the OBDLink MX+ the software will not actually see the divice... We are an electronics based business and have been building touchscreen dashes based of CANBus communication for a decade now. I can appreciate the suggestion of asking questions and such but trust we HAVE been asking and Alfaobd only replies with the same rubber stamped response that does NOTHING to address the Windows connectivity issue and only suggests we use an android based device. And yes...absolutely could do that. But we bought a product that is said to work with a Windows platform and that simply is not correct. And to think...All we wanted to do was activate fold in mirrors we added to our service truck... My original comments stands...I am sorry... I think this product is a perfectly good waste of money... And it is not based off anything you have shared but the software company's total lack of support along with KAODTECH offering zero post purchase support.... @@MKSPerformanceOffroad
@@BillyWaggs4052 I have used this same software on a windows based laptop as well because it did perform certain functions better. The software manufacturer is not always easy to get ahold of and other companies like kaod tech to my knowledge dont do this full time which is why you are not getting tech support like you normally would from a large established company. I have been able to successfully help people use this program personally not through a video but walking them through the steps over the phone or even instagram. The program is powerful and can perform a bunch of procedures but you will have to do some learning unfortunately. The recommendations for use of hardware should be considered as this is directly from the developers who have tested these comms devices so we follow them explicitly. What computer system are you using, if you jump over to IG or facebook we could talk about the issues your experiencing.
Yes, it definitely should. You will be limited to whatever Dodge had programming wise for that year model. As we progress through the later model years the capability is greater.

Thanks for your support and question. I would recommend getting the EX or MX+ to allow you to perform any of the processes alfaobd is capable of. Im not sure what the other models will or wont do on a promaster as I have not hooked to one of these.
Your doing this off the WiFi on the tablet correct ? Then Bluetooth to the obd scanner ? Is that how it works in a tablet because i don't have android phone but i do have a tablet with WiFi and Bluetooth
You only need wifi to save the stock file to google drive before you make changes or to update the software. To use the software it is not required to have the wifi as I connect to the Obdlink MX+ via bluetooth. If you have a windows laptop you can use that as well.

I found your video and your answers to questions regarding the AlfaOBD to be most informative. This software can do more than I require, but the cost of it & the security adapter are quite affordable. (2018 RAM 2500 Diesel).
I see you have the ezlynk app on your tablet. Did you use that programmer on your 18 Ram before or after the Raceme programmer? Which one do you prefer? Did you use to have a 2003 Ram that you did videos on for a utility bed install and changing from auto transmission to a stick shift? If so you were a lot of help to me back then. I now have a Big Horn 2018 that I added things like you. Bed lights with switch, amp power steps, engine heater delete, 7” cluster, front and rear park assist sensors and a front camera. No sir I had a 2014 Ram. I have not bought any ezlynk programming and strictly used it for data display. I prefer the raceme because of cost as I had already purchased and I didn’t really want to rely on my phone to display data. I use my phone quite a bit for other things. Personal preference to be honest though but there is some good stuff offered on both platforms. Thanks for the support and Im glad some of my videos helped you out.
@@davidcandao1 hi David. I did make a few videos to explain what I did but it’s very confusing because I broke the black and red plastic harness that plugs into my 8.4 radio. I spent many hours trying to figure out how to put a front camera in but finally got it working with a lot of trail and errors. I have pictures, diagram of how I got it to work. I did tap into my cargo camera and connected a toggle switch to go between front or cargo camera. There’s a lot to doing this and I would be glad to try and help you out. Not sure how to get this info to you. Never posted on RUclips before. What year is your truck and do you have the cargo camera?

Likely that you will need it as Ram started putting in the sgm in 2018. You will need to locate the sgm to verify you have one or simply call dealer and ask them, bet its behind the radio or near driver side dash somewhere near column or kick panel. The 4 digit pin is useful to have for certain procedures and started rolling every 24hrs for 2019+ so you shouldn’t have to worry about that on your 18’. Hope this answers your questions.
I bought the paid version and it will connect to the obd Bluetooth reader I have but I can't actually do anything with the app, it won't even Ren diagnostics. It feels like the app is locked up. Any thoughts?
Will AlfaOBD diagnose those problems for which you get messages only, but not check engine light ? Immediately I get Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Trailer Brake System and driving for couple minutes I get Service 4WD messages . Plus message in reverse that ParkSense rear braking Off and can 't be turned On in setting . Trying to figure out what causing that or if only dealer can diagnose those problems. Truck is 2020 Ram 1500 ecodiesel.
Depends on what you are wanting to get done and use the tool for. I wouldnt say it is pointless, however, with those model years you are limited on what you can enable or disable because the options just weren’t available then.
Heres a good question about this program, can you erase the notorious p1745 transmission line pressure variable force code and p0868 using alphaobd on a 2014 dodge grand Caravan sxt 3.6l with a 62te transmission?
@@Relevantminded great question, I honestly can't answer that as I have not had any experience with that model vehicle. I will say it will erase and clear your codes but if they comeback some troubleshooting will be required.
Several obd readers will work and the obdlink is the recommended reader by alfaobd. With that being said it is not the only one and yours should work just fine. I haven’t tried any others out so please leave a comment on how it worked and if you had any issues.
I know I have programmed keys and remote start but Im not sure if you will be able to replace the module itself. Generally this requires more hardware like a j2534 pass through device and access to dealer level software.
Can this program adjust the interior lighting? I have a problem with my 2017 ram 1500 where my interior lights will not come back on after inital opening of any door after the truck engines been running.

By srt package are you referring to the splash screen option. If so, yes you can. If your talking about any additional features that come with an SRT than you would need to install those options and then activate them.
Yes you will need to purchase the full version. There should be a way to purchase it on windows in the software or on the website. It has been a little while since Ive done it.
Alfaobd is a programming and diagnostic tool. It is not possible to perform the action you are requesting. Recommend contacting a tuning professional to see what options are available.
You plug in the obd mx+ or cable you have and them connect via bluetooth to the comm device. After that you select the appropriate selections for make, model, year and the respective module. Select connect and then open the car with hood up icon
Can you turn off the seatbelt chime with this? And also I have a cab and chassis model and want to activate all 6 speakers instead of just the 2 door speakers, I read somewhere that this would allow me to make those adjustments?
I havent seen the exact procedure for activating speakers, I believe it will do it and I know the chime can be turned off. The chime is one of those things that is often done if you cant get it to turn off any other way. There is supposed to be a procedure you can go through that turns it off but it was just easier for me with the program because I already was in it.
@@michaelbattenfield4100 correct there is a procedure you can follow to turn the seatbelt chime off without this, there have been a few trucks that I have done this procedure without alfaobd where it would not take and it was just easier to use the program. I think its easier to just turn it off while you are already in there anyway.
Put key in ignition, switch to on position but don't crank engine. Buckle seat belt and unbuckle it 3 times on the last time leave it buckled in. Turn switch to off position. If you hear a chime it worked correctly.
@@antoniodavis9848 you likely are having issues connecting to the truck because alfaobd is set to look for the wrong comm port which your cable is connected to.
It connects to the truck but I'm not getting the information am looking for I have a start up issue, I tried to start yesterday and the truck spun over like a choke was on the motor then cut off and I turned the key off and the restarted.
Hope you can help me out. Have to change out my BCM and got a used one but now needing to change my settings on it. How can I find my current settings and change the “new” bcm settings?

After doing a rotation they tire positions are off now. Will this program allow me to recalibrate tpms position? I have already put 100 miles on them and they have not reset. Thanks

I drive a 2008 (DR) Ram 2500 6.7l and I have upgraded the radio so I can't use the radio for wireless connection so I need a way to wirelessly tap into the J1850 (OBD2) connector. Great question, there are many modules on the market that will work but the one that is recommended by the software developer for use is the obdlink modules. I have only used obdlink and have been happy with their products. Hope this helps.
You should be able to go onto the alfaobd website and view the OS requirements. As long as it is a good tablet or computer that has the memory you should be fine. People have issues when they try to get the cheapest tablet possible and it doesn’t have the ability to process information and run the program. If you have an android phone you can try that first.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad I have a Samsung S22 Ultra plenty of memory and processing power. I've heard people talk about it working one second then the next it doesn't because of an update.
Can I use this software to turn off the EGR system? I have a 2012 ram 3500 I want to do the EGR delete soon but I’m trying to see if I can use this to turn off the codes or bypass the system
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad The items are ECM/PCM controlled. So the AlfaODB won’t work. It will allow all functions in the body control module to be turned on/off. Best to add LED lights so no errors appear.
@@SilveradoXST Alfaobd will change bcm config and some diagnostic stuff it is decent at. If you need to get into ECM/PCM you likely need a programmer or j2534 pass thru to access those parameters. Might check into Warp tuning software and a raceme ultra programmer or mm3 programmer. Those would be the more expensive route though to only change those settings.
Can Alpha obd be used to vin match a abs module. Original Abs module damaged and replaced with a used module? Needs vin match and configuration. So says the codes....
No Alphaobd cannot reflash a module. You would need a J2534 pass thru device with appropriate access to the manufacture reflash files in order to do what you are talking about.
Can I used it to flash an OEM remote start on my 2020 RAM 3500 6.4L? I have the new fobs, hood latch and cable on the way. Dealership wants $750 just to flash it and program fobs...
@@theheilious yes you will need the bypass cable. Either the bypass cable that stays installed or the one that connects at the sgm connections. I believe the 2020 has the sgm mounted in an easier location to get to. Obtain your 4 digit pin from dealer parts dept. It is the rf hub 4 digit pin not the 5 digit. It will be good for 24 hours and then a new one will need to be purchased since the code rolls every 24 hrs.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad, I got the installed bypass cable with only 1 CAN buss lead. I am hoping I don't need the second CAN buss lead? Having some trouble getting the MC+ to connect to the app. Android says it's [paired but I never got a chance to input the Pass code in the instructions? it will pair without the code but it won't connect to the app and if I try to reconnect to bluetooth, it gives me a message: " Must connect to an app". I have a 2018 dodge ram 3500 and I want to be able to run my tail lights in LED and also I want to be able to run my head lights with HID's, I have them in now but if I can get rid of the resistors will be great, can you tell me how to get there and do that in the program?
Yes, if you follow my alpharex headlight programming I explain how to set those to led lights, as for tail lights there are settings you can change but I do not currently have a video on this. Best source of information I can point you to is on cumminsforum.com under alfaobd thread or the ramzforum.com . This is a very popular mod that people do and there is alot if info to guide you. @@2LegitTwoQuit You will need to connect to the bcm and enable the HID setting in order to disable PWM (pulse width modulation) which alternates voltage to the Halogen bulbs to prolong the life of them. This isn’t need with the LED bulbs and tends to cause issues.

I don’t see a stationary desoot for the ecodiesel but definitely for the cummins. Might be worth a search on the forums. I’d say they can do the same work but computer is better from what I have seen at programming mileage and hour correction. I do like the tablet for quick stuff though.
Do you know if it can change TPMS frequencies? I’ve had a low tire light for a minute. Need to pair the aftermarket one that was used or replace with a new OEM one and pair.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad the tire shop (Discount Tire) threw on a known brand of aftermarket after damaging the OEM sensor that shows a range that would cover 433hz but the truck doesn’t see it. I bought an OEM one before I took it to them but they didn’t get that memo and used one of theirs. Since then I tried to assign the TRW sensor to the missing wheel on TPMS but it’s not installed so therefore no pressure or spinning motion for the RF-Hub to see active data. Not sure how the RF Hub knows tire position if it’s not programmed, Alfa allows one to assign a sensor and I thought when they replace sensors there’s and activation procedure that helps TPM relearn position but some forums indicate it’s all automatic and senses itself. So far that’s not been my experience. Not only am I missing one on dash but they do not match actual positions.
Shows that you need android version 4.0.3 and up. Works just fine on my newer android devices and people I know that have downloaded it. What issue are you experiencing specifically.
You should be able to turn off applicable air ride suspension settings but that is something you will have to do the research on. Im sure there are people who have done it if you look around on the forums.
You do not have to use the zautomotive one. You can use many different communication modules but the ones recommended are recommended because they have been proven to work the best with no issues

@@MKSPerformanceOffroad the vehicle is a 2021 Dodge Charger SRT8 Scat Pack, the Abs module went bad so I replaced it with a working one from the salvage yard and just wanting to turn off the ABS light (it's annoying) Once again, thank you for your reply and I def will go over to IG and follow
@@blakkatsound you will likely have an issue without a sgm bypass like we do on the ram trucks 2018 and newer. You likely wont be able to do anything without bypassing your security gateway module.
So is it just the windows program then? Saw you had an OBDlink MX but didn’t touch on it. I’m looking at doing an air ride delete on my 17 Rebel (to King coilovers) and I’ve read this will disable air ride and turn the truck to standard coil configuration

Depends on the type of bypass you have, if its the one that plugs in under the dash from obd port to can bus blocks then you can leave it in as long as you want. If it is the one you plug in behind the radio that requires you to remove your radio than no, it needs to be plugged in for each change. Hope this helps.

@@MKSPerformanceOffroad yes trim codes....I was told it's not an option on 2013 through 2016 , those models are vin specific, meaning the injector codes are not put in for those years as long as you buy the vin specific injector for your year truck, that info. Came directly from Alfa obd tech support

@@MKSPerformanceOffroad can't be done on Alfaobd for my year model, there is no option in the drop down menu...not to mention AlfaObd has said the same thing, option is not provided because it's not needed so Long as you buy the correct injector
@@johnstark3058 I didnt think it was needed on the cummins as you said with buying the correct injector. Ive done trim codes for bugger stuff but never these engines. Were you trying to figure out if it was needed or did you have instructions telling you to do this?
Fyi. Still will not be able to use remote start with uconnect app. Even tho FCA will have you download and update the newest 8.16.xx version for(must use a specific brand thumb drive only kingston fyi) infotainment system as they said this would allow me to use remote start function from phone app. After pulling teeth. Found out unless your vehicle was produce from the factory with the remote start option. The dealer install remote will not be an option via the phone app. Unless someone comes out with app outside of Uconnect. 2017 2500 6.7l 44,xxx miles= New gear box, rear diff, front inner drag link(cannot replace as the morons welded via recall even after i declined and document on paper and service manager telling them not to.) 6 months at dealer so far. Various other recalls, switch here, door handle here. Oh yeah I have the hepres of Ram the service electronic brake system warning that cycle and flares up when it wants but never for the dealer. Damn rash i mean my Ram has been in 3 Ram dealerships various FCA complaints. Yeah I am a Chevy guy. You think i learned my lesson 🤔?
kevin c I cant confirm whether or not it will as I have not used it on that MY yet. It is listing on alfaobd.com MY 05-18 but I would suspect that if it has the same modules as an 05 it may work. Your best bet is to check out the alfaobd threads for 3rd Gens on cumminsforum, dodgeramforum, etc.

balzonyr4head I haven’t personally changed gear ratios but I have calibrated the speedometer and I know there is an option to change the gear ratio in the program. You might check out the alfaobd threads on cumminsforum and some of the ram forums out there.
If all your changing is the gear ratio, it will read correctly. If your changing tire size you'll have to recalibrate the speedo. It's not necessary for just the gears.
Quick question, I have a 2014 2500 ram. The dash lights (evic) and the radio lights are not dimmable when the lights are turned off. Can the Alfa obd fix this? The lights are dimmable while in the Auto, parking lights and headlight position. Any feedback is appreciated.
Honestly haven’t ever come across the need for this myself. I would say that if its not an option in the bcm then it wouldnt be possible but I honestly dont know. I can appreciate the suggestion of asking questions and such but trust we HAVE been asking and Alfaobd only replies with the same rubber stamped response that does NOTHING to address the Windows connectivity issue and only suggests we use an android based device. And yes...absolutely could do that. But we bought a product that is said to work with a Windows platform and that simply is not correct. And to think...All we wanted to do was activate fold in mirrors we added to our service truck... My original comments stands...I am sorry... I think this product is a perfectly good waste of money... And it is not based off anything you have shared but the software company's total lack of support along with KAODTECH offering zero post purchase support....

@@BillyWaggs4052 I have used this same software on a windows based laptop as well because it did perform certain functions better. The software manufacturer is not always easy to get ahold of and other companies like kaod tech to my knowledge dont do this full time which is why you are not getting tech support like you normally would from a large established company. I have been able to successfully help people use this program personally not through a video but walking them through the steps over the phone or even instagram. The program is powerful and can perform a bunch of procedures but you will have to do some learning unfortunately. The recommendations for use of hardware should be considered as this is directly from the developers who have tested these comms devices so we follow them explicitly. What computer system are you using, if you jump over to IG or facebook we could talk about the issues your experiencing.

Thanks for your support and question. I would recommend getting the EX or MX+ to allow you to perform any of the processes alfaobd is capable of. Im not sure what the other models will or wont do on a promaster as I have not hooked to one of these.

You only need wifi to save the stock file to google drive before you make changes or to update the software. To use the software it is not required to have the wifi as I connect to the Obdlink MX+ via bluetooth. If you have a windows laptop you can use that as well.

No sir I had a 2014 Ram. I have not bought any ezlynk programming and strictly used it for data display. I prefer the raceme because of cost as I had already purchased and I didn’t really want to rely on my phone to display data. I use my phone quite a bit for other things. Personal preference to be honest though but there is some good stuff offered on both platforms. Thanks for the support and Im glad some of my videos helped you out.

@@davidcandao1 hi David. I did make a few videos to explain what I did but it’s very confusing because I broke the black and red plastic harness that plugs into my 8.4 radio.
I spent many hours trying to figure out how to put a front camera in but finally got it working with a lot of trail and errors.
I have pictures, diagram of how I got it to work. I did tap into my cargo camera and connected a toggle switch to go between front or cargo camera.
There’s a lot to doing this and I would be glad to try and help you out.

You need to pull your original log and compare to current log to see what is different in the settings. You will need to go line by line.

Likely that you will need it as Ram started putting in the sgm in 2018. You will need to locate the sgm to verify you have one or simply call dealer and ask them, bet its behind the radio or near driver side dash somewhere near column or kick panel. The 4 digit pin is useful to have for certain procedures and started rolling every 24hrs for 2019+ so you shouldn’t have to worry about that on your 18’. Hope this answers your questions.

Will AlfaOBD diagnose those problems for which you get messages only, but not check engine light ? Immediately I get Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Trailer Brake System and driving for couple minutes I get Service 4WD messages . Plus message in reverse that ParkSense rear braking Off and can 't be turned On in setting . Trying to figure out what causing that or if only dealer can diagnose those problems. Truck is 2020 Ram 1500 ecodiesel.
Those are all things you should be able to see and perform with alfa obd. Forums have a ton of info on using it as well.
Almost pointless for 09-12 ram trucks (non powernet) very few usable features
Depends on what you are wanting to get done and use the tool for. I wouldnt say it is pointless, however, with those model years you are limited on what you can enable or disable because the options just weren’t available then.

Several obd readers will work and the obdlink is the recommended reader by alfaobd. With that being said it is not the only one and yours should work just fine. I haven’t tried any others out so please leave a comment on how it worked and if you had any issues.

I know I have programmed keys and remote start but Im not sure if you will be able to replace the module itself. Generally this requires more hardware like a j2534 pass through device and access to dealer level software.

By srt package are you referring to the splash screen option. If so, yes you can. If your talking about any additional features that come with an SRT than you would need to install those options and then activate them.

You plug in the obd mx+ or cable you have and them connect via bluetooth to the comm device. After that you select the appropriate selections for make, model, year and the respective module. Select connect and then open the car with hood up icon

Can you turn off the seatbelt chime with this? And also I have a cab and chassis model and want to activate all 6 speakers instead of just the 2 door speakers, I read somewhere that this would allow me to make those adjustments?
I havent seen the exact procedure for activating speakers, I believe it will do it and I know the chime can be turned off. The chime is one of those things that is often done if you cant get it to turn off any other way. There is supposed to be a procedure you can go through that turns it off but it was just easier for me with the program because I already was in it.
You don't need this to turn off the seatbelt chime - there is a procedure to turn that off via a key/buckle/unbuckle sequence
@@michaelbattenfield4100 correct there is a procedure you can follow to turn the seatbelt chime off without this, there have been a few trucks that I have done this procedure without alfaobd where it would not take and it was just easier to use the program. I think its easier to just turn it off while you are already in there anyway.

Put key in ignition, switch to on position but don't crank engine. Buckle seat belt and unbuckle it 3 times on the last time leave it buckled in. Turn switch to off position. If you hear a chime it worked correctly.

@@antoniodavis9848 you likely are having issues connecting to the truck because alfaobd is set to look for the wrong comm port which your cable is connected to.
It connects to the truck but I'm not getting the information am looking for I have a start up issue, I tried to start yesterday and the truck spun over like a choke was on the motor then cut off and I turned the key off and the restarted.

They should reset on their own, if Im not mistaken you need to drive over 55mph+ for 15-20 min.

Great question, there are many modules on the market that will work but the one that is recommended by the software developer for use is the obdlink modules. I have only used obdlink and have been happy with their products. Hope this helps.

You should be able to go onto the alfaobd website and view the OS requirements. As long as it is a good tablet or computer that has the memory you should be fine. People have issues when they try to get the cheapest tablet possible and it doesn’t have the ability to process information and run the program. If you have an android phone you can try that first.

The items are ECM/PCM controlled. So the AlfaODB won’t work. It will allow all functions in the body control module to be turned on/off. Best to add LED lights so no errors appear.
@@SilveradoXST Alfaobd will change bcm config and some diagnostic stuff it is decent at. If you need to get into ECM/PCM you likely need a programmer or j2534 pass thru to access those parameters. Might check into Warp tuning software and a raceme ultra programmer or mm3 programmer. Those would be the more expensive route though to only change those settings.
Can Alpha obd be used to vin match a abs module. Original Abs module damaged and replaced with a used module? Needs vin match and configuration. So says the codes....
No Alphaobd cannot reflash a module. You would need a J2534 pass thru device with appropriate access to the manufacture reflash files in order to do what you are talking about.

@@theheilious yes you will need the bypass cable. Either the bypass cable that stays installed or the one that connects at the sgm connections. I believe the 2020 has the sgm mounted in an easier location to get to. Obtain your 4 digit pin from dealer parts dept. It is the rf hub 4 digit pin not the 5 digit. It will be good for 24 hours and then a new one will need to be purchased since the code rolls every 24 hrs.

Having some trouble getting the MC+ to connect to the app. Android says it's [paired but I never got a chance to input the Pass code in the instructions? it will pair without the code but it won't connect to the app and if I try to reconnect to bluetooth, it gives me a message: " Must connect to an app". Yes, if you follow my alpharex headlight programming I explain how to set those to led lights, as for tail lights there are settings you can change but I do not currently have a video on this. Best source of information I can point you to is on cumminsforum.com under alfaobd thread or the ramzforum.com . This is a very popular mod that people do and there is alot if info to guide you. @@2LegitTwoQuit You will need to connect to the bcm and enable the HID setting in order to disable PWM (pulse width modulation) which alternates voltage to the Halogen bulbs to prolong the life of them. This isn’t need with the LED bulbs and tends to cause issues.

I don’t see a stationary desoot for the ecodiesel but definitely for the cummins. Might be worth a search on the forums. I’d say they can do the same work but computer is better from what I have seen at programming mileage and hour correction. I do like the tablet for quick stuff though.

No, the frequency is set and the tpm sensor should be the same frequency as the system reads which I believe is 433mhz
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad the tire shop (Discount Tire) threw on a known brand of aftermarket after damaging the OEM sensor that shows a range that would cover 433hz but the truck doesn’t see it. I bought an OEM one before I took it to them but they didn’t get that memo and used one of theirs. Since then I tried to assign the TRW sensor to the missing wheel on TPMS but it’s not installed so therefore no pressure or spinning motion for the RF-Hub to see active data. Not sure how the RF Hub knows tire position if it’s not programmed, Alfa allows one to assign a sensor and I thought when they replace sensors there’s and activation procedure that helps TPM relearn position but some forums indicate it’s all automatic and senses itself. So far that’s not been my experience. Not only am I missing one on dash but they do not match actual positions.

You should be able to turn off applicable air ride suspension settings but that is something you will have to do the research on. Im sure there are people who have done it if you look around on the forums.

You do not have to use the zautomotive one. You can use many different communication modules but the ones recommended are recommended because they have been proven to work the best with no issues

@@blakkatsound you will likely have an issue without a sgm bypass like we do on the ram trucks 2018 and newer. You likely wont be able to do anything without bypassing your security gateway module.
What info does it give for the cummins?
So is it just the windows program then? Saw you had an OBDlink MX but didn’t touch on it. I’m looking at doing an air ride delete on my 17 Rebel (to King coilovers) and I’ve read this will disable air ride and turn the truck to standard coil configuration
This program will do much more than just a windows program and should be capable of configuring your truck without air ride.

Depends on the type of bypass you have, if its the one that plugs in under the dash from obd port to can bus blocks then you can leave it in as long as you want. If it is the one you plug in behind the radio that requires you to remove your radio than no, it needs to be plugged in for each change. Hope this helps.

David Ritchey I cant say for sure but if the parameters are there in the BCM then it allow you to change them. Most stuff I work on is newer models

Are you referring to the RSA unlock cable that unlocks the ECM?

If your talking about programming the factory program then no, you would need a j2534 passthrough device and access to mopar program file to reflash.

I do believe it is an option, are you referring to the trim codes for installing new injectors?
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad yes trim codes....I was told it's not an option on 2013 through 2016 , those models are vin specific, meaning the injector codes are not put in for those years as long as you buy the vin specific injector for your year truck, that info. Came directly from Alfa obd tech support
@@johnstark3058 have you looked on ramforumz.com or cumminsforum.com and seen if anyone has successfully done this? I cant say I have because I havent performed this function with alfaobd. I know I saw several people who were able to do this in ecodiesels.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad can't be done on Alfaobd for my year model, there is no option in the drop down menu...not to mention AlfaObd has said the same thing, option is not provided because it's not needed so Long as you buy the correct injector
@@johnstark3058 I didnt think it was needed on the cummins as you said with buying the correct injector. Ive done trim codes for bugger stuff but never these engines. Were you trying to figure out if it was needed or did you have instructions telling you to do this?

Yes you will be able to see pretty much all options that can be added and just need to tell the truck it has them now.
The fog lights are direct, they dont go through tipm

Fyi. Still will not be able to use remote start with uconnect app. Even tho FCA will have you download and update the newest 8.16.xx version for(must use a specific brand thumb drive only kingston fyi) infotainment system as they said this would allow me to use remote start function from phone app. After pulling teeth. Found out unless your vehicle was produce from the factory with the remote start option. The dealer install remote will not be an option via the phone app. Unless someone comes out with app outside of Uconnect.
2017 2500 6.7l 44,xxx miles= New gear box, rear diff, front inner drag link(cannot replace as the morons welded via recall even after i declined and document on paper and service manager telling them not to.) 6 months at dealer so far.
Various other recalls, switch here, door handle here. Oh yeah I have the hepres of Ram the service electronic brake system warning that cycle and flares up when it wants but never for the dealer. Damn rash i mean my Ram has been in 3 Ram dealerships various FCA complaints.

No sir, those parameters are found in the engine ecm and would need other software to access them.
2015+ the ecm is locked you can't make any changes to the ecm however you can buy an unlocked ecm and have it programmed
will it work on a 2004 ram 2500 cumin. I need to set up my daytime running lights
kevin c I cant confirm whether or not it will as I have not used it on that MY yet. It is listing on alfaobd.com MY 05-18 but I would suspect that if it has the same modules as an 05 it may work. Your best bet is to check out the alfaobd threads for 3rd Gens on cumminsforum, dodgeramforum, etc.

I'm looking at doing a rear gear change and I don't want my speedo to be all out of whack so can I change gear ratio on this app?
balzonyr4head I haven’t personally changed gear ratios but I have calibrated the speedometer and I know there is an option to change the gear ratio in the program. You might check out the alfaobd threads on cumminsforum and some of the ram forums out there.
If all your changing is the gear ratio, it will read correctly. If your changing tire size you'll have to recalibrate the speedo. It's not necessary for just the gears.

Yes, it is possible to add keyless entry with alfaobd

Quick question, I have a 2014 2500 ram. The dash lights (evic) and the radio lights are not dimmable when the lights are turned off. Can the Alfa obd fix this? The lights are dimmable while in the Auto, parking lights and headlight position. Any feedback is appreciated.
Honestly haven’t ever come across the need for this myself. I would say that if its not an option in the bcm then it wouldnt be possible but I honestly dont know. Best place to ask would be on the alfaobd success thread on Alfa OBD Success!
