That looks like a cool program! Thank you for the heads up!
Thanks Mark! 💪
I hope you end up keeping the eco , love the content.
Bless you with all the great contents you bring to this channel, can I program a 2015 ram 1500 new key fob with this device? big thanks for your answer.
Awesome J🤳《☆》Nice tutorial Brother👍Just another reason I still daily a 98 Dakota😎🎱☮🔊🖖👍
Early. Thanks for this video. Helpful
Thanks Luis! 💪
The Alfa might be good but, I installed the Zautomotive Tazer and am most happy, it can bypass the lock.
Could you do a video on how to fix the blue light behind the center console(volume, air knobs)? The lighting on my center console is kind of weak and I don’t have a clue on how to fix or what to expect.
That pretty cool .. soo much one can do these days to do improvements an such .. that was great video very informative an step by step .. good deal bro !! I see your wearing a long sleeve warmer shirt is it not as hot there anymore or ? 👍
Thanks darren! It’s been a little cooler lately. High 40s at night and 60s during the day
For 09-12 ram trucks it will say (set or not set) instead of yes or no
Nice vid
Awesome job as usual John!!!! Hope that the move is going good 👍!!!!!
Thanks Henry!
Would Alpha OBD let me fix intermittent cruise control fail? This occurs randomly then function returns after a variable amount of time even without recycling the system.
Thanks for the informative video!
Just did mine just now and it works. Thanks for all the help and check thumbs up and keep up the good work
Any idea on if you can use this to have the backup camera stay on while in drive?
Can you also do this to keep the mirror puddle lights on while driving? 17’ ram 1500 sport
Thanks much. Your channel is a wealth of info for Ram owners.
I can use any obd scanner or that one in specific
Right on big dog.
Thanks brother 💪
with that obdlinkmx+ can you change the engine brake on the 2016 diesel to work in 1st gear?
Do you have to keep the dongle connected once all changes are complete or will disconnecting it reset the settings to factory?
Can you lower the temperature that the electric fan comes on? Did the v6 fan mod on my Ram and want to have fan come on at a lower temp. If not, what is my best option? Not wanting a to add power from a programmer, just want to change the temp.
Sweet!
Thanks Andrew! 💪
Question. Will this alpha obd program allow me to program a factory trailer brake controller to work after install?
will the fog lights go on together when the high beams go on? Or only when you have the fog lights already on, they will stay on when the high beams go on?
cool stuff! just bought myself a obdlinkmx+ and a security gateway, looks like you can do almost everything with this setup!
Heck yeah let us know how you like it 💪
Awesome video!!!
Is there any way to lower the recommended tire pressure on the truck? Ex my 2017 2500 says 60 psi/80 psi. Im running 45 psi for a better ride.
You will need your pin# either from the dealership or pin pull app
3:45 "Maximum vehicle speed." Can you adjust the governor with this setup?
It also works on a 3rd gen dakota too
I wonder if this will work on my 2002 subaru outback. My fogs always turn off when I out my highbeams on. Also I hate the daytime running lights always on. I wish I could just run my corners with my fogs in the day
So I HAVE to purchase an add on app along with the purchasing of my OBD Mx+??
Does Alfa obd change the wheel sizes and solve the speedometer problem?
I HAVE THE BLUE DRIVER OBG TOOL WITH BLUETOOTH CAPABILITIES. WILL THIS DO THE SAME THING YOUR TOOL DOES.
I wonder if this would work with a physical OBD2 to USB C cable.
Do they sell another security bypass module the one on your description isn’t available I have a 18 ram 2500??
How do you keep the low beam on when you switch to high on a 2008 3500? Thanks
Does this work on 3rd gen 3500? If not any ideas?
Thanks to you, I've done some of the mods you've posted on yt. Thank you sir!
Thanks Tom glad you are liking the vids! 💪
Would this work on 98 dodge Dakota R/T?
Another awesome video brother thank you for all the information you share 👍👍👍💯🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks brother! More on the way
Do I need to have the MX for this to work? I already have the LX lol
Can you turn off the fuel management (4cyl) on 2018 ram 1500 with this?
Can you change the vin on donor modules, say like a hellcat engine, trans upgrade through alpha obd?
Wonder if this works on a 2020 Pacifica?
Will this product work with a 2020 Durango?
Sweet video today man. Do you have a video installing the security bypass for the 2018's?
Thanks Robert! I don’t since my 16 doesn’t need it but I can maybe making a video showing the location and where to put it 🤷♂️
That would be awesome. I would love to get rid of the plate bulb warning(another great video BTW) would love to see more of what the alpha app can do!
It plugs into the obd2 port with a splitter and connects to the canbus port directly above it. (If using the kaodtech bypass). It takes like 5 minutes to connect and is color-coded. There are others that mount behind the stereo. You also have to be sure you get the right one because it's different between gas and diesel trucks.
Will this mess with my tune with Diablo ?
What type of table to get to use Alfa obd
Can you unplug it after you change the settings and the settings stay?
Can I use an autel Maxi device?
I saw there’s a option for speed limiter 0-500 can you really remove the governor?
Thanks for showing this. I had to get the PC interface program as I have an iPhone. The PCC interface does not quite look the same as on the Android or tablet and was a little confusing. I found someone else showing the PC interface for changes connection and selection and it worked great. Now i have to research and look at what annoying things I can turn off from the factory or turn on to make performance better on my 2015 RAM 1500.
Disclaimer: In certain states such as mine lol, it is illegal to run fog lights in conjunction with high beams. Fog lights apparently must disengage when high beams are turn on which is why its programmed that way from the factory. Got me a nice ticket 🎫 here to prove it lol, so be careful gents.
Does this work for Jeep?
Can you fix or mod the tire pressure warning using AlphaOBD as well. I run about 5psi less than recommended and when the temperature drops I get the low tire warning. Only way to reset it is to fully inflate then lower it again. 39psi is just too high IMHO resulting in a rough ride.
You can but you may need to get the 4 digit PIN from your dealer to make the change.
That's what I'm looking to do keep my fog lights on do you have to leave the OBD link in the entire time or how long before you can take it out?.
Only need to leave it on for programming changes with alfaobd then you take it off 💪
What should I do if I don't have the car configuration change button
👍
im not gonna lie miss seeing the hellkota in background
Soon brother ✊
Can anyone confirm if this works on 2016 and up with a factory computer? I know other mods have required a replacement/unlocked computer
Does this have a option to be able to have the amber day time running lights. I’ve been to 3 dealers to get them activated and they keep saying no. But I know it can be done. Thanks.
my dealer only saw option for low beams on quad headlamps, i didn't see alfaobd showing amber, only 3 options lows, highs, fogs and with or without cut off on blinker , this might be different in other model years
What a about the 3rd gens ?
According to AlphaOBD the MX supports Android, Windows, Apple
Very nice upgrade, Have you figured out how to keep the AC on recirculate instead of automatically switching to outside air with exhaust fumes?
@@Room1sixtyfive I'd love to know too
So does this mod make the fog lights shut off on low beam?
Replaced front bumper and fog lights with light bar and I want to use the old fog light harness to trigger a relay to turn the led lights on only when on high beam.
All you have to do is turn the light nob for parking lights only the fogs will come on without headlights
To just run low beam and no fogs push the light button in and will shut off fogs
I have a modified pcm and custom tune. Is this compatible? Also can that thing turn off the rear o2 sensors?
Yes it will still work. This is making changes in a different module (BCM) of the truck. O2 sensors are managed by your PCM
It can connect on some other modules as well, i changed ABS module which you can also initialize with AlfaObd
Boosted, you should go in and activate the "global windows down" feature. Unfortunately it only controls the front windows but its nice to hit the unlock button twice and hold on the second press to put the windows down on a hot day. The only other down side is the "global windows up" function doesn't work.
Do you have to leave this plugged in all the time to keep the settings? Or can it be removed?
Once you make the changes you can remove the device 💪
It's also not married to the vehicle, so you can use it on multiple Chrysler vehicles at the same time
Do we need to buy the gateway bypass module aswell or that depends on the year
My fog lamps stop working and i cannot figure out where the fuse is located please help. TIA.
Has anyone had luck with it keeping LED low beams to stay on. My 15 Ram does a flicker or just turns them off altogether, does it at random times. Also have a load resistor connected.
It's possible the resistors are going bad or you have a loose connection
A link for that socket set ?
😂😂😂yea that caught my eye too
It’s a Canadian socket set i bought when I was like 20 I don’t know if they sell the same kit here in the US 😂
I have an 09 1500 and an 11 2500 that I can't figure out how to remove the led turn signal error. Anyone else have issues w alfa on early gen 4's?
It can read and delete errors codes keep in mind you still have to a drive cycle to clear the codes out of the computer
All these mods does this mean your keeping the truck?
For now I am. I honestly am way too busy to sell and go shopping for a truck and need a truck to move
Can also do this with the zautomotive tazer
Yes, but I believe that unit is married to the vehicle and can only do a small handful of changes. Alfaobd can do so much more and is only slightly more expensive.
@@hunterdan2002 yea Alfa obd isn’t married but the tazer doesn’t need to be left plugged and it does a lot more things than you realize
@@nathanlegradi4098 Tazer does not have to stay plugged in for changes alfaobd does which are programmed in by manufacture, but those which modules don't have programmed and require some additional sequence are operated by Tazer and only function if it stays plugged
@@tallll70 there’s only a few options it needs left plugged in for to work. And plus it’s not difficult to plug and plug back in lol. The live options save and don’t need selected again when you plug it back in either
ONLY do 1 change at a time doing multiple changes at once can cause issues
Where are you located so you can program my truck for a fee?
Tampa Florida
Isn't this illegal in many if not all states?
Depends on the traffic code for your state. I live in Virginia and this would be illegal BUT, the only time you would really get hit for it would be when you go in for a yearly inspection. All you have to do is go back into the BCM and turn it off before inspection and then turn it back on after you get your sicker.
Nice, but I'm more impressed by the 10mm in it's place.
Hahah true!
What about 09 to 12 years ?
I believe some of the changes can be made to those vehicles.
@@hunterdan2002 09 -17 without the security bypass 18 to current you will need the bypass
wait, don't tell me, i know how... you have to move sun wiser down and up 3 times, then open glove box once, then you turn steering wheel 90° first right then left and... lock your truck, that's it... i think this only works with gas cap off
Thank you was curious if I could turn off auto features. I can't stand the auto brights or windows or wipers.
Wipers: its barrly raining you want a liw setting then the wipers get possesed and go into high mode on their own. Annoying.
Brights: they turn themselves off when taking corners so when I pull in my driveway at night they shutoff as I am turning into my driveway which is when I like having them on. They also won't engage when a car is like a half mile ahead of you or if there us still a little daylight so they won't engage in a fog if any daylight is visible which is annoying.
Windows: you only want a little fresh air wanting to crack the window on a cold day and bam your windiw gets thrown wide open. Ford atleast has the switch made better so you can get a little bit of air without having the window drop as the swutch has to be pushed down more, dodge its all or nothin.
Think my next truck I will buy a 90s truck from diwn south.
Only if I had a Dodge truck....

Always remember before you make any changes for the first time upload your factory settings to Google Drive
Wouldn't recommend this. Unfortunately. Always on board for these vids, bit this one....the whole point of shitting off the Fogs when the high beams are turned on is current draw, which also equates to more heat. It loads the system too much and you Could, not will, but Could cause a fire, or any other host of electrical problems. Boosted, c'mon man, at least tell these people to use at own risk...this is just one I can't support you on. I'd never do this and I severely modify all.mynbegiclds, but not this....
So wrong. Fogs, lows and highs all run on separate circuits. There is zero excess heat from running highs and fogs. The reason it's disabled from the factory is because us dot regs require the fogs to drop out when the highs are on. Nothing to do with heat or current draw.
@@hunterdan2002 1 word facts
@@eldelapalma1338 my bad. Going off of older vehicles and what I have personally experienced. And it may in fact be due to the age of the vehicle and it's system rather than the lights. But I've had to fix issues related to this so, my bad.
Why would you want to anyway. I mean, brights are going to Far outshine fogs anyway. So what's the point?
@@onebgbdartemis1381
Yes. On the older cars they ran through the light switches. So it could prematurely burn those out. Later ones used relays. So you could easily add a relay and move the fog lamps over to the new relay to take the load of the relay. However if you go to LED’s then the draw will drop.
@@onebgbdartemis1381 light up the foreground in front of you. Personally, if I'm running my highs, it typically means I want as much available light as possible. So, fogs to light the road directly in front of you, lows to cover your normal light pattern and highs to reach out for distance.
