Just bought my truck from Preston (5/14/2021). He was excellent and diligent in helping me with everything that needed to get done. Most of the deal was done over the phone and I was not disappointed when I met him in person to pick up the truck. He was able to explain all the features of the vehicle and some best practices. It was worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to buy from someone who really cared about their customer. I will definitely recommend getting your next truck from him.

With eTorque you don't need a battery trickle charger. The 48 volt battery keeps the 12 volt battery topped off using energy regenerated and stored from braking and upshifting. It also eliminates the traditional alternator.
Some 2019 DT RAM 1500’s had rain water leaks above the rear window, some from cracked trim and some from a bad seal around the 3rd brake light housing. My 2020 has been dry. However, as a preventative measure I cut one continuous length of clear plastic tubing (1/4” outer diameter I believe) and carefully wedged it into the gap around the top and both sides of the rear brake light housing. It prevents water and gunk accumulation as well as preventing UV degradation at the factory seal, costs less than a dollar, does no harm, and is completely reversible (unlike a messy caulk job). I highly recommend the tubing wedge mod as it could prevent mold and musty smell in the cabin and expensive repair costs.
Yes 2019 longhorn laramie..Laramie.. roof leak they fixed it but the headliner is all stained in the back ..only had it for a year but they wouldn't replace headliner and ..I'm the only one using it half the finish is off on the front seat ...all of the trucks previous were ford's never had an issue. I just had my leak fixed in my 19 ram classic. 350 $ but good to go and they shampooed the headliner water stains as well. Came from roof seams seater strip and 3rd brake light
My 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie was a nice truck. However, I quickly learned the build quality was not what I expected. I had problems with a whistling noise in the lower part of the windshield on the driver side. It drove me crazy in the freeway over 65 mph. Also, the widow controls on the driver side were acting up. I would sometimes have the windows half down and wanted to bring them back up and the window would go in the opposite direction. I had squeaking noises coming from the right front suspension whenever I drove over small to medium sized bumps in the road. Other than that, the truck was great. I decided to sell the truck back to a Dodge dealer since values went up and I made some cash.
Very interesting. I’ve owned several Ram/Dodge trucks over the years (most recently a 2022 Rebel) and I learned more tidbits from this 4 minute video that I didn’t know in decades of Ram ownership. THANKS.

I have only rented Rams. I prefer older trucks. I was T-boned in my F150 and if it wasn't sturdy steel, I wouldn't be here, so Fords for me. I check the yearly crash tests before I buy any vehicle now.
Great video on features........Just purchased a 2021 Laramie this past summer. I somewhat like the truck, but I believe it is missing some features 1.) No wireless Apple Airplay. (need to plug in the USB cable for CarPlay to connect....... I am told it comes on the 2022). 2.) No Adaptive Cruise Control 3.) No Lane Assist (LaneSene by RAM). 4.) No backup camera 360 view. I originally looked at the Limited which may have had those features, however, I did not like the suspension adjustment feature as I plan to slightly raise the truck along with new rims/tires in the future. My distaste for the Limited suspension setup really blinded my view of these other 4 missing features. I did not notice these missing features until 10 days or so after I bought the truck. All the Ford F150s I have driven in the recent past had those features. These missing features tend to drive me crazy. My dealership experience in Dallas was also less than stellar. Pushy salesman, horrible interest rate, no customer handoff. I know it was my fault in not seeing the missing features.. However, I now kind of wish I purchased a Ford. Make sure you really research every feature on these new trucks before purchase. Oh well, I only have 10 years or so to wait for another truck. :-/
I have a 2021 Limited and looked at a few others. It depends on the package you got with the truck. My Limited came with all of that. Only thing I did not get/want is the Sunroof. The thing I wanted and did not get, the HUD. It came with everything else. On the Laramie you have to pick the package and the options. Not sure why the dealer miss on doing an upsell for those great features you would have liked...crazy if you ask me.
I wonder if you can back up with the door open? My 2016 wouldn't move with the door open. Sometimes when the tailgate was down and I only wanted to back up one foot etc I'd like to look out the door to gauge my distance. It wouldn't do anything. Then when I closed the door it wasn't moving at first then all of a sudden raced back and bent the tailgate. Of course it sounds funny but not so nice in reality. It's easier to gauge the distance when the door is open and you look at a mark on the ground with the door open.
100% disappointed that it took 6 months and 75,000 views before someone pointed that out. 🤣🤣 I thought of doing a bad dub over on it, but decided to roll with the mistake. I think of it like a snake charmer, but I like your idea better.
Oh, and where are my manners? I forgot to thank you for that part of the video. Very informative and I will be using that in the future. Thank you! My wife and I recently visted a national park where we didn't need to wear seat belts on the slow-speed-limit, one-way-traffic roads. We buckled them behind us, which was kind of uncomfortable.
I agree that many of the vehicles built in the last couple of years have this +5 mph/+10 kmh function. That's not always been the case. I appreciate your support of the channel.
How does one adjust the front seat driver's headrest on a 2021 Ram 1500 Lone Star Crew Cab 5.7 V-8 Hemi? I can't seem to change it to a comfortable position. It's sloping forward 30 or 40 degrees and won't adjust further back to a more upward angle. Also, heating & A/C fan seems to have a lowest setting of '1'. There doesn't seem to be an 'Off' position - the fan is always running on '1'. Keep up the great videos!
Thank you! Is your truck a new body style or a classic body style? I’m not sure about the fan. If mine drops below 4, then my truck acts like it doesn’t know who the driver is. 😃
Have you tried taking them out and turning them around? Other than that, you’ve got the range of motion front to back and then up and down rang of motion.
Push head rest all the way to the front and watch it spring back. Readjust angle. AC fan noise is from ventilated seats. Turn both AC and ventilated seats off. Fans will go silent.
Ok I have one. I worked a 14 hour shift last week, come out to find I had never turned the engine off when I went into the office that morning, parking lot is open outside. 14 hours later and I have the “key fob has left the vehicle” message and I had maybe a gallon of gas to get to a station. Why would the engine not have turned off?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 I guess I would think at some point it would turn off. If someone made that mistake in their garage the end result could be very bad.
I understand. I have a customer that started their vehicle, went inside, put their keys down, went back to the car, left to get gas and after turning the car off, realized the keys were at their house. 😳 They weren’t happy the vehicle could be driven without the key fob. I don’t know why you can take it out of park without the key fob. But, I can understand why it’s still drivable without the fob.
Best I can tell you is to stay below 25 mph. Off-road 2 isn't designed to be driven over 25 mph. If you go above 25 mph, then the system will lower you to off-road 1. You'll stay in OR1 until you exceed 20 seconds between 40 and 50 mph or until you exceed 50 mph..
Finally had an opportunity to look into this. I took a 21 Lone Star with the Level 1 equipment group out today. It didn’t have adaptive cruise control. It still changed in increments of 5 when I held the set +/- button down. What trim package do you have on your truck?
Bought a 2022 1500 Bighorn with 18" wheels. Purchased a set of take off 20's Polished 5 spoke off a Laramie. TPMS is blank. Is there anything I can do or is the Bighorn and Laramie sensors different?
Some folks want the chime disabled because they will drive their truck in pastures or down long driveways. And some folks don't want the truck telling them what to do...lol
I have a 2021 Ram 1500 and I have found out that if it's really cold outside the electronic emergency brake freezes and won't release, therefore making the truck undrivable. I called the dealership and I was told just wait for it to thaw out. But what if it stays cold for 4 or 5 days? Same solution.
I would avoid using the electronic brake in extreme cold weather. Other than that, some source of a small amount of heat, but I'm not sure where you would put the heat source to help prevent this.
Thanks for the reply. But my driveway is sloped and by not setting the parking brake all the weight of the vehicle is sitting on the transmission which can't be good for it. I guess I'd have to chock the tires in cold weather which would be a pain to remember each winter. It seems like a design flaw to me. Technology is good, until it's not. @@prestonflanikensellscars9640

Of course it doesn’t happen at the dealership…. Pretty frustrating. When you’re in the split screen, do you have the Sirius card on top or bottom? Does the glitch occur with Sirius regardless if it’s on top or bottom?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 . It doesn’t matter top or bottom and its not all the time. Sometimes I get the beep when I touch it but doesn’t change channels. Like I said,if I try it a couple times it changes the preset to the current one.
Try videoing it next time it happens so you can show the dealership. I haven’t seen this before, but I’m not a technician.
Good idea ,as long as I’m not driving. Thanks for your response.
Very good video. How to enable the seatbelt beeper again ?
Hey Carol, Just repeat the same process.
Oh man thankssssss...seatbelt chime was driving me nuts
Interesting chime disable feature. My roommate just bought a RAM 1500.
I hope your roommate enjoys the truck.
I have only rented Rams. I prefer older trucks. I was T-boned in my F150 and if it wasn't sturdy steel, I wouldn't be here, so Fords for me. I check the yearly crash tests before I buy any vehicle now.
Ford bodies are made from aluminum now. Both Ram and Ford are IIHS Top Safety Pick rated.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Ordered a new truck and can't wait to see if that works.
What are you looking forward to the most?
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 Having a truck in general. I currently drive a 91 Miata and carrying Lumber is a challenge.
Lol….I would say so. Hope you enjoy the truck!
Great video on features........Just purchased a 2021 Laramie this past summer. I somewhat like the truck, but I believe it is missing some features
1.) No wireless Apple Airplay. (need to plug in the USB cable for CarPlay to connect....... I am told it comes on the 2022).
2.) No Adaptive Cruise Control
3.) No Lane Assist (LaneSene by RAM).
Yes, you can, but the truck will engage the electric park brake. You have to manually disengage the park brake.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 Thanks I'll remember that next time.
Great vid sir, thanks for the upload
Thank you!
I cannot back up to my trailer with the driver door open and it drives me nuts... can you disable that feature some how?
Leave your seat belt on OR manually disengage the emergency brake.
Seat belt "charm"... Is that a chime and alarm together? LOL!
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 Awe man, you should have done the poorly-audio-edited dub. Would have been hilarious.

First time with cruise cintrol? Every vehicle with it works the same way, in Canada holding it does increments of 10km
I agree that many of the vehicles built in the last couple of years have this +5 mph/+10 kmh function. That's not always been the case. I appreciate your support of the channel.
@Preston Flaniken Sells Cars I dont know about the last couple years..my 99 blazer did it
My 14 Ram doesn't. 🙁
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 It's a 2021 Ram 1500 Lone Star Crew Cab (new body style)
If it were a Laramie, then I’d agree with you. But, he said has a Lone Star. Ventilated seats aren’t available on Lone Stars.
Very informative tips!
Also according to manufacturers specs the 8 speed transmission which is a sealed unit still has to have its fluid changed at 100,000 kilometers.
this is awesome. do a part 2! im sure you found more stuff didnt you?
Great tips, thank you.
How do you disable the seT belt chime if you have a keyed ignition instead of the push start? 2023 Ram 1500 Classic for example.
Same process, but keep your foot off the brake and turn the key to the run position.
It’s going to sound like I’m being a smart-aleck, but the truck is doing what it thought you told it to do.
Great review. Thank you.
How bout something on the air suspension? How to leave it in off-road 2 with driving around town….etc. thanks
Grear tips! Ty.
It only does increments of 5 when it has adaptive cruise control
Finally had an opportunity to look into this. I took a 21 Lone Star with the Level 1 equipment group out today. It didn’t have adaptive cruise control. It still changed in increments of 5 when I held the set +/- button down. What trim package do you have on your truck?
I just picked up a 2021 rebel. Mine goes up in increments of 10. I don't have the adaptive cruise
I have a 2019 Ecodiesel, how do I take it take it out of overdrive when I accidentally push the 1-8 gear button while driving?
So where do you put the gun rack?
I’mma work on figuring that out!
Thanks for sharing. Good information.

I just bought a 2021 dodge ram "Big Horn ".
Was that truck supposed to have the trailer receiver factory installed or do I have to buy it extra
Depends on the package you get. Mine is a 2020 and had all of the trailering gear installed.
Is it the same setup for abling it back to the normal Cham 🤔
Yes.

Bought a 2022 1500 Bighorn with 18" wheels. Purchased a set of take off 20's Polished 5 spoke off a Laramie. TPMS is blank. Is there anything I can do or is the Bighorn and Laramie sensors different?
Sensors might need to be retrained.
Does the seat belt deal work for the passenger's seat?
I have a dog that likes to sit there and the damn thing keeps going on.
I’m certain enough that it works that I’d bet a large amount money on it.
Any trick on if your Fuel Door is stuck. 😅 It will not open. It is a push to open fuel door

Great question. You just need to repeat the same process and it will enable the chime.
@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 , i thought it was pronounced _'charm'_

It seems like a design flaw to me. also, cant seem to disable the speed limit beem set at 70mph, is there a way to rid of it or put if to a different number?
cheers
The only way that I know to show video on the radio screen is through some sort of jailbreak method.
If you are asking about the speed limit being displayed on either the radio screen or driver display then, I would assume that the speed limit would only be displayed if the navigation maps are loaded for the country you are driving in. Here's some info for you about that.... ruclips.net/video/liZYp3QxbOo/видео.html
I'm not sure what you mean by "speed limit beem."
Does the ram big horn 2022 have cooled seats ? Or is it just heated seats ?

I've been driving cadillac for 6 years and it's sometimes hard to remember I need to push the handle button or lock with the fob...

I would have to check, but I think it’s in the settings under passive arming or something like that!
I think you’re referring to passive entry. That is still going to require him to push the button on the handle.
