Cry. In that case, it means that the HDMI output is handled by the CPU through the integrated graphics, not the graphics card itself, so you're really limited in options.

Hi there, I've got a question. I have an ASUS TUF Dash F15 laptop. Whenever I connect it to my 4K 144Hz monitor, it has a problem. I can set the resolution and refresh rate to 4K 60Hz with no problems however if I change the refresh rate to 144Hz, the laptop blue screens. Also, on 1080P it can do 120Hz, but 144Hz blue screens the laptop. Any solutions?

There is no such thing as "Being built for 60hz". While it's true that GPUs are made with specific resolutions and refresh rates in mind, there is no reason to not run your monitor at it's highest available refresh rate. In other words, No. Don't put your external monitor back to 60hz.

Hello, I recently bought a 165hz monitor to connect to my acer nitro 5, but since the monitor comes only with a display port I am unable to connect it to my laptop that has an hdmi 2.0 port. Should I use a hdmi 2.0 cable or 1.4 cable and could you link the cable that supports 144hz or 165hz for the monitor. Btw the monitor supports only 1.4 hdmi cables. Also can you use a display port cable to hdmi cable?
I have Samsung odyssey G6 which is freesync premium and I use g-sync compatible checkbox on my Lenovo legion 5 with cable thunder bolt- display port 8K Jadaya at 2K resolution and 240 hz. So far so good in Jedi Survivor, no interruptions. So you need g-sync compatible (freesync) which works with nvidia.

I as well have an acer nitro 5 and when I check my display settings it says 60hz which that is the max my laptop display goes, if I were to connect a monitor with higher hz would I be able to change it to the hz that the monitor runs or will my laptop only be able to run 60hz on that external display.

If you’re running your laptop with the monitor plugged in, you should be running with the laptop’s charger plugged in. If you MUST use the monitor without the charger, yes it will use more power, as you’re rendering multiple displays on the laptops processors.
If the external monitor is 165hz, it will be the only screen that can show 165hz. Connecting a 165hz monitor to the laptop doesn’t make the laptop panel 165hz.
I just bought a new LG monitor, it says to get gsync to work I have to use the displayport 1.4. Now my USB C 3.2 as well as my HDMI 2.1 both are connected directly to my graphics card. If I don't have a displayport on my laptop does that mean I can't get gsync to work? I heard you can use the USB c 3.2 to connect to the monitors displayport. Is that correct?
Typically GSync doesn't work over HDMI, and if it does it limits you to 60hz. I do not have experience with Type C, especially if it's not thunderbolt 3 or 4. Your best bet would be displayport.

Both are good depending of the resolution you are going for. HDMI 2.0 is more mainstream and will work fine for up to 1080p 240hz.

I have the same laptop and you can use either of the 2 but 2.0 is better
hdmi 2.0 would be ideal, followed by 1.4, followed by dp to hdmi adapters.

It isn’t an issue with the cable. If you have an Nvidia card you can try switching the PhysX config, but no guarentees

do you mean displayport? hdmi 2.0 is years old and pretty much most modern monitors should have hdmi 2.0
Hdmi 2.0 and 1.4 are compatible, but you will be limited by 1.4. The max resolution and refresh rate 1.4 supports is 1080p 144hz.
Also I wouldn’t recommend closing the lid or else your laptop will overheat.

The custom installation allows you to select the option to uninstall the previous graphics driver.

Yes. It keeps your C drive clean and reduces the strain on your GPU. I honestly don’t know why they don’t uninstall it automatically.

Better to connect directly through the on board HDMI output. Chances are the dock doesn't support HDMI 2.1 @4k 120+

It will not reduce actual input lag but it will reduce the amount of input lag you feel.

You can, but if you use your laptop for anything performance intensive, it could cause thermal throttling.

Its because your probably using a hdmi cable. Use a display port
Hey so every time i plug the hdmi cable into my laptop it immediately switches my main monitor to that of what shows on my laptop. every video i have watched shows the opposite happening and none of them address this as a possible issue so what’s going on?
I connected the HDMI to monitor and the laptop but I dont know why I changed to HDMI port, my main monitor turn in a second screen for my laptop, why is that?
