if you want an fps boost only use the external monitor. you'll get a really big jump in fps in some games and some games may see little to no fps boost. point is if you want an fps boost don't run your laptop and monitor at the same time. only run your external monitor

You can also disable the intel graphics in the device manager. So you can make your 2nd monitor as a main. Just make sure enable it after you playing. Or it’s okay to not if you’re not going to turn off your laptop.

What is response time? Any difference at all? For example we buy 1 ms monitors to “gain” advantages over slower displays. Would running a bigger monitor than the 15 inch equate to any difference? I’m not sure the metric to measure it but I’m sure there are programs that can tell you.

I don't see a problem for those who use cloud gaming... believe me clouding doesn't care about it and gives you full gaming experience tho u need to have a pretty damn good internet connection

The only option I have to connect this thing is through HDMI port which is only allowing me to get 144hz refresh rate on the monitor. It might be better it’s hard to say as I’ve never used your laptop. But for csgo and dota there pretty easy games to run so hopefully you do get more performance

Do not duplicate the screen, choose show on 2 only. if you bypassed Optimus then you should get a 10-30fps boost across all games.

I’d say 24/27 inch is the sweet spot much bigger and it will be hard for the laptop to run.

If your running a monitor your best having your laptop screen turned off as your gpu will struggle to run both screens. Hope this helps

Does the length of the hdmi cable matter when it comes to fps? Like does having a longer cable transfer slower response than a shorter cable?

I run a Freesync display and have a NVIDIA card it does not make much difference. and you can run Gsync/Freesync over HDMI.

It might be as simple as the hdmi cable you have isn’t good enough
You want a 2.0 or a 2.1 do you no which you have? That’s what I’d check first

I have a question, when I connect external monitor, then move the mouse right to left and I see the GPU running. If I use only laptop monitor GPU not running while u moving the mouse.
My question is this can make my laptop performance drop while I'm in games ?
Usually the monitor will give you more performance. How are you monitoring the gpu while using the monitor and is it in game?

16 ram and 1000 gb if I buy a 240 hertz monitor like mine is 144 hertz whether
will it work that much or will it be difficult in the big gaming titles and should I if I buy a 240 Hz monitor close my laptop or leave it in normal shape with the screen open as I have a cooler with two fans under the laptop and will I have to change some settings for example in the control panel please answer

Im using a Huawei Matebook D15. and my question is, will I still get an fps boost? Would I still get an fps boost regardless if im not using a gaming laptop? Im just playing CSGO, Valorant and DOTA 2.
It might be better it’s hard to say as I’ve never used your laptop.
But for csgo and dota there pretty easy games to run so hopefully you do get more performance

Is closing the lid necessary? My laptop (Helios 300) has air vents at the front (Above keyboard area).
It’s better to have the lid open more heat can escape through the keyboard

no, you just have to change the refresh rate on external monitor to 144hz

how do you get it to do nothing when you close the lid on windows 11 its not an option anymore

You can run the quality of the monitor but it may struggle to run 2k if you laptop is only setup for 1080

It would work but 360hz may be hard for the laptop to reach those higher fps

You can set it on your settings to have the laptop screen on or off depending on what you want.
How to know if your laptop specs support 4k? Plan to buy 4k screen for my gaming.
I wouldn’t run a 4K monitor off my laptop it’s far to much for it. Your fps would be very low especially on demanding games such as warzone ect
