Bodycam: Half Pound of Weed, Gun Found in Alabama College Footballer’s Car After 141 mph Pursuit

- Опубликовано: 26 апр 2023
- Bodycam shows the arrest of now-suspended University of Alabama freshman football player Tony Mitchell for allegedly fleeing police at 141 mph on March 15. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office said deputies searched his vehicle after smelling an odor of marijuana, finding half a pound of weed, a loaded gun, and $7,000 in cash. The defensive back tearfully pleaded with deputies while in custody, at one point asking if he could get off if his passenger took the blame. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie has the full story.

I had a friend in college who lived in a honors dorm freshman year which meant he had a very high GPA out of high school. He just mysteriously disappeared one day and I learned that he was caught riding in a car with several stolen guns and everyone in the car took the charge since nobody wanted to tell who's guns they were. If you have a bright future, stay away from people who aren't headed where you want to go in life because they will throw you off course. My friend lost his full ride scholarship and never finished college because of that 1 day he got in that car.

Unless he went to prison for a long time was there maybe another reason he didn’t finish college?

These officers were just incredible, they truly did everything they could to help this young man. This was pretty gut wrenching to watch, hopefully he rebounds and learns from his mistake
Exactly! This is so sad.
What lol. They just played him to tell on his friend

Bro met up with his plug and got pulled over
THIS IS WHAT REAL POLICE OFFICERS ACTS LIKE!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
I agree unfortunately there are too many people that would say this kid deserves it all and everything. But in my opinion kids really do deserve a chance to change and often times it can take something real like this incident to make you wake up. Most of the kids I grew up with that got I. Serious trouble at a young age straightened out. The ones who never really got in trouble tho, they seemed to have a harder time.
These are good cops. Most are messed up. I've been let go a few times just because they were cool and they understood .
I disagree
@@esaisrodriguez399 I love you for that comment coming from the streets the real dope boys love you
Why did they pull him over that's not being said
Once he said “you know I love you right” I knew it was over 💀😭
mans starting singing like a bird🤦🏽♂️
Hold on I gotta find that part 😂😭
Throw the book at him, privileged. He should be treated like any other citizen.
This kid has no business riding around in a new car just cuz he plays a child's game. He'll be working at Arby's now!
The fact that the guy didn't get lost after outrunning the same officer that pulled him over is arguably the WORST decision he made that night..
are you planning on fixing that mustang or shooting it with that gun?
@@juansolano240 Sold it. Had bought the project mustang and that glock on the same day. hence the pic
Facts I’m not saying what I’m about to say is right, but they definitely probably had enough time to toss the weed and gun at the least. They had under 10k on them so the money would’ve been good.
And he already had outran the officer that pulled him didn't he...wonder how he looped around and got caught by same cop??🤔
I feel sorry for ol guy though...that sucks, and for his career too. Like one comment said, if ppl u hangin around ain't trying to go where you're headed.... lose em, they mean no good anyhow.
Right they should have been threw everything out what was they thinking that’s the whole point of running 😂😂😂😂 even the cop said you were way ahead of us
When 'keeping it real' goes wrong...
😅
naw , half pound ain't shxx . personal consumption for a college student .
He said he “loved” him too. That makes it clear he felt guilty. If that were really true, he would've taken that charge for his boy to keep his record clear and him in football regardless of whose it was. This gangster street lifestyle is really just pathetic, spineless, and scummy. Because even if the passenger did take that charge, he'd probably just continue committing crimes and dragging his boy into it.
Dave Chappell tried to warn us 😂😂😂
Amazing police officers, that kid got so many breaks from those cops man. This was a beautiful police interaction.
I swear to get a Dodge Challenger or a charger the requirement is to have either active warrants or to be using the vehicle to commit felonies.

I’m not saying this as only a fan of Alabama but as somebody that’s been in this dudes shoes. God gifted him with the talent to play football kids like this deserve a chance to get away from “friends” like this and be around better influences. His life will go a lot better once he kicks negative people out of his life.
The situation sucks big time. This situation may be a blessing in disguise. He is going to end up playing football for some other school and he will has his head screwed on tight
@@pmueyebrowmicroblading2375 he wont be playing football again.
@@pmueyebrowmicroblading2375.....I bet the Alabama boosters are nervous, too much attention on that brand new HellCat.....in a few weeks we will get news of the moneytrail..
He always had that chance to get away from bad influences but you are taking it at face value he was telling the truth. The guy wanted his friend to take the wrap so that it wouldn't screw up his career.
he had a chance and he tossed it away as you can see.
I bet she was happy to say that he was suspended from the football team. With that smirk smile she made at the end
Officers were very professional and he knew he wasn’t catching that scatpack😂
This is why you choose better friends and people to be around you. They will influence you and your life. I’m not sure what the outcome was but he made poor choices and if it was his friends stuff, his life potentially was ruined bc of the choices his friends made around him.
I promise man, ppl do not have yo best interest at heart 💯
There’s also the possibility it was his stuff and his friend made a poor choice, or they were dealing together and both made a poor choice.
@@rayray8687 *"There’s also the possibility it was his stuff and his friend made a poor choice, or they were dealing together and both made a poor choice."*
You can have this take but it's a poor one at that. Tony Mitchell is a top 150 nationally 4 star recruited player going to a team that produces countless NFL prospects. Not mention a decent NIL package for Alabama. So money isn't an issue for him. This him making a poor choice in a friend and should kept with his brothers on the football field.
@@StoicBehavioR: It’s not necessarily a poor conjecture when you consider how often we hear of people who ‘don’t need the money’ being involved in criminal activity. This seems especially prevalent among sports figures and rap singers. Everybody wants to be gangsta until they get caught.
ik a lot of people like him. that’s stuff was definitely his, hes just using that excuse. everyone says it’s someone else’s to try to get the blame off of them. but you are right, he’s definitely influenced by his friends and/or family
Sadly I’ve been in a similar situation and I can say that cop was very nice and polite. You could’ve gotten several charges besides the intent. Especially in Florida. Hopefully that made him change his life around like it did for me.
They probably know how ridiculous the weed laws are but their hands are tied
Everyone trying to be a Goon till you get stopped and break 🤣🤣

These cops are awesome man. You can tell even before he said he’s a Freshman football player for the best college in the country that they felt for him and even more so after that. You could hear it in their voice, they didn’t want to ruin this young man’s future and I hope it doesn’t and he learns his lesson from this and we see him in the league one day!
