The banana bread looks delicious 😋
Will definitely try the recipe. Love that it contains sour cream.
I often make banana bread myself, but I don‘t use sugar because I give it to my little daughter and I don‘t want her to get used to a lot of sugar at a young age. It tastes really great though, even without the sugar because of the natural sweetness of the bananas/apple.
If you two should ever have children, here’s the recipe:
I mash 2 ripe bananas and grate a sweet apple. I add an egg and 1/3 cup milled, roasted hazelnuts, depending on the size of your banana and eggs you will need to add 1-1,5 Cups of wheat or spelt flour (both works), 1 teaspoon baking powder, pinch of salt and cinamon (to your liking).
    Bake 30 min at 180C (I don‘t know how much F it is...sorry).
    Greetings from Austria

I have been binge watching your videos! I have learned so much. You mentioned that you always buy salted butter which I do too. But lately I have been buying a couple pounds at a time of unsalted when I find it on sale. I like to add Himalayan salt, roasted garlic, and a mix of fresh herbs. It's an amazing butter to top a steak, chicken, steamed veggies, couscous, etc. You can roll it into a log with parchment paper and refrigerate. After it's nice and cold, you can just cut it into tablespoons, put into a freezer bag, and take out a couple tablespoons when needed.

Not sure if anyone else shared this tip already:
When you check your baked goods, lift them out of the oven as quickly as is safe and close the oven door. Then you can check on whatever is needed on the countertop. Believe it or not, ovens can drop as much as 100-150 degrees in only 30 seconds of being left open, which can really affect the baking process/time. 😯
Loving your channel. I'm new and totally binging!

Banana bread tip: a pinch of ground cloves amps up the banana flavor. There is a flavor compound in both bananas and cloves so adding cloves bumps up that flavor.
As you know cloves can overwhelm, so I just use a good pinch - maybe any eighth teaspoon per loaf.

I also add freshly ground nutmeg along with the cinnamon & cloves.
We love nutmeg & lots of cinnamon on top of plain Greek (Fage') yogurt with honey 🍯. Hubby loves a lot of honey in his, I just put enough to cover the top on mine & I mix it in well & serve.
The benefits of nutmeg will surprise you. Google it & be prepared to be amazed 😳 😊. I buy organic nutmeg & cinnamon- Saigon or Cylon.
I put about a tbsp of cinnamon on the yogurt & a good grinding of nutmeg on top 🥰❣

Looks great. I make a 'Snickerdoodle Banana bread' that's just heavy on the cinnamon which I'm obsessed with. One extra step to make it that bit special is to sprinkle a mix of cinnamon & sugar on the whole inside of your pan after greasing it & before adding the mixture. And then another sprinkle of it on the top of the mixture before cooking - it's extra indulgent, but gives it a nice caramelised flavour.

Ohhhh Becky, I know this recipe is gonna be good with sour cream in it... a few years ago I was looking on line for a recipe for Irish soda bread, for a St Patricks day pot luck at my apt bldg. I found a recipe that calls for sour cream and I made it...so good, like a dense cake!!! ( I do add just a bit more sugar than calls for too) I discovered that traditional Irish soda bread is a bit dry, but not the case with the recipe that I found. I am now convinced that any baked goods with sour cream is gonna be good!!! For that matter, any recipe of any kind made with sour cream is most likely gonna be good!!! Sour cream is such a wonderful thing to have around... Lol. Thanks for this very special recipe, I already know its gonna be a keeper!!! Lol. 🍃🐣🍃

When we baked more we also had a produce store we could buy heaping banana and apple boxes of aged produce for pennies or less on tne dollar; a box of bananas were almost always were available. I used to peel, cut away the bad, mash, measure in 1 or 2 cup volumes, put in plastic containers to create chubs, freeze, pop the chubs out like ice cubes, then stuff them down a bread bag selerated by 2-4 layers of waxed paper. This can be done with cooked, dry beans; broths and stocks; cooked meats with just enough f.uid to keep them bound; and a lot of other things. Now when I do this, I freeze in glass (like Pyrex et al) with thier plastic lids then run water around the outside edges/ set on the counter and wait fkr the chub to loosen around the edges; a fork or inexpensive knife stuck in tne middle then twisted speeds this process up. - Pre measured quantities takes more up frint time but reduces the time when used.

I just throw the over ripe bananas in the freezer (in the skin) and when I need them I thaw on a plate, cut the stem off and squeeze the thawed banana into my bowl (kinda like milking a cow 😊) and proceed w the recipe

Next time spread peanut butter on top insted of regular butter. Any nut butter or tahini work well too.

The sour cream is actually the key to why the banana bread is super moist!

My mother always said, it's not a "true" home experience until the dogs show up!
I believe your dogs noses lend the best approval of your bread!
Sniff, sniff! Yummy stuffs Ma! Lol!
    Peace on your doorstep!
