BOB HALLIGAN JR | Artists On Record
Bob Halligan JR musician, music producer and songwriter collaborated KIX, KISS, CHER & JUDAS PRIEST.
Beginning in the mid-1980s, when he co-wrote most of the songs on the band's third album, Midnite Dynamite. Incidentally, one of the most successful songs he has ever written is Kix's near-top ten hits, "Don't Close Your Eyes" (co-written with one-time Crack the Sky frontman John Palumbo and Kix bassist Donnie Purnell), which was featured on the band's follow-up album, Blow My Fuse. The song remains Kix's highest-charting single.

Wish Donnie would have been at the last show. It was amazing 🤘🏼
PLEASE BRING DONNIEE TO THE SHOW...HE IS THE COOLEST
We miss you Donnie! I’d love to see an interview with you and hear what you’ve been up to. Heading over to check out your record right now. Signed, that 12 year old kid you were kind enough to give an autograph to through your brother Craig who was kind enough to mentor kids in section 8 housing via the park program ✌️
Why did you leave kix ,bro your we're sick on stage .
KIX was one of the tightest bands live during the 80's. I mean it was like vacuum packed pocket. People would line up around the block at the Switch in Raleigh just to see them. It was a phenomenon.
Saw them at club xl during the summer, 5th time seeing them, I live in Buffalo, I’m lucky to have seen them but these guys are still just as tight. They are unreal live, they are a hell of a band. Unfortunate to know I’ll never see them again being retired, but they are one of the best live bands ever.
Yeah I was one of those KIX fans. Still am 42 years later
Will Donnie ever put some Kix style of music out again? All us Kix fans have to give big credit to Donnie's writing and of course we want to hear more.
Phil Lynott is why I picked up the Bass at 8. Donnie is why I learned to play it and start my own band. I grew up in southern PA and saw KIX probably 50 times. He is one of my favorite musicians of all time.
I recognize Bob's name from Judas Priest albums & then I saw his name all over Icon's 2nd album (Night of the Crime)
That was a great album.
Nice to finally see his face .
Love the cover of Donnie’s new record!
Donnie Purnell is a world class musician
Stefan--I just recently found your youtube page and I'm already a huge fan (watched the Brian Forsythe/Ronnie Younkins interview and it was incredible). I've been a KIX fan since '85. Have seen them countless times, although I never got to see them with Donnie. I've always wondered what happened to him, since he wrote ALL the KIX tunes. When I saw that he released a new record, I was fascinated...until I heard it. You can't tell me you're not entirely disappointed by this album. It's horrible. I've listened to it 3x thru and I just can't get into a single song. I'm glad to know he's out there somewhere and still recording...and I'm sure he digs his new record. I just don't get it at all.
Such a shame how it all went down between Donnie and the band. Life is to short to hold grudges and hold on to anger man.
Wow Donnie is still making music
Not sure I would call it that. 😂
That was great. Can't wait to hear more. Maybe you can score an interview with Donnie !
Fingers crossed!!
since Starship Donnie has been a fav of mine lol he doesn't live far from me
Judging by the snippets from the album you played on this video, I see this album selling 10s of copies.
Or not.
Very different music. His voice is interesting. Would like to see him perform live.
Some of those songs rock. Sally’s on empty sounds like an AC/DC song. I like the entire album.
Hung with these guys at their homes and dressing rooms and at Soundchecks…sorry folks but he treated all around him horribly…a true jerk
And Vito Bratta disappeared too
Brains of kix
Listen to “Midnite Dynamite”. Then listen to Ratt “out of the cellar”. Sounds like Atlantic made those albums back to back with the same engineer. Same settings. Going for exactly the same sound.
I purchased this album and I put it out back. It keeps all the deer and possums away from my house. It’s the most horrific music I’ve ever heard.
Yeah I didn’t want to say that but yes, I’m not sure what the direction was. It’s clear why Whitman sang.
I tried to listen to Donnie’s new record. Couple songs in it gave me a headache. Maybe I just don’t get it🤷♂️
not to take anthing away from donnie!!!! he killed it in kix! but its mello! nothing that i would have expeted....
This doesn’t really explain “what happened” with him and Kix.
Kix went down hill after he left..🇺🇲🇬🇧🇺🇦🇮🇱✌️✌️
