    Kix not being a massive band is one of the biggest crimes in the history of music

    Steve is one of the best frontmen in rock! The guy deserves so much respect and attention. Incredible performer, still great vocally, and funny and entertaining as all get out. KIX just might be the best live band out there. They knock it out of the park every time I see them.

      Hard to argue with that. He's like a mixture of Mick Jagger, AC/DC, and Redbull/Vodka. :)

    I saw kix every time they played at hammer jacks, damn they tore it down and made it a parking lot. Kix are such a great band, very underrated which is too bad because they are one of the greatest live bands

    I'm so glad I got to see KIX so many times over the years...including the final show at Merriweather. Every year at M3, they were without a doubt the best band on the bill. Steve is a KILLER front man. No one will ever do the "audience participation" part better than him! Check out just about any live version of Cold Blood and you'll know what I mean.

    What blew me away about this band was after me & some friends went down to College Park for a show that was being recorded for what was supposed to have been their "Hot Wire" music video. After the show we went around the back of the arena (Cole Field House) just hoping to get some autographs on the banner one of my friends had airbrushed up for the show.
    They did sign all sign it, and then the guys (except Steve, who had his wife & kid there and needed to get them home) just sat out there in the rain shooting the shit for a good 20 minutes with a bunch of random teenagers (us). This was at the height of their national popularity, right after "Don't Close Your Eyes" blew up & "Tear Down the Walls" was still getting airplay on MTV (and MTV still played music). Just blew me away that a major band would do something like that.

    They were BIG In Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, ever since 1981, then in 82, we moved to Charlotte NC, and about 2 years later KIX got more popular there too. A band getting big anywhere may come down to just ONE fan, playing just a few minutes of a band for another person.

    That is the Maryland (Marilyn) accent in perfect form (Steve Whitman). Steve is one the best front mans of Rock period. Grunge killed off the Rock Glam & Hairbands in the early mid 90s. The record labels were idiots and totally mismanaged this band. I am looking forward to seeing KIX in 2021 post-Covid. Glad to see the band is healthy and I wish them all the best!

    Kix is massively underrated. They are one of the greatest bands of the 80s. Whiteman was a great frontman, always engaged with the audience. Band always sounded nice and tight. The total package. Kix > Motley Crue to me. At least all the members of Kix could actually play there instruments

    Steve my Uber driver in Dewey Beach Delaware the night you guys played a good bottle and cork I went to see my good friends love seed Mama jump instead greatly mistaken time but my Uber driver loves the real Kix said he wouldn't listen to the new Kik cuz he doesn't think it's going to be the same I said I swear to you and I'm not wasting your money it's your going to thank me and you're never going to see me again by their new CD from a few years ago he said are you honest I said I swear to God you're going to thank me and you're never going to see me again

  • @jjladd2129
    @jjladd2129 5 лет назад +4

    pisses me off they should have been billionaires and on any show or documentary about the most honest and creative rock and roll. it's so emblematic of the old "you need something to fall back on." they did everything right. better than Motley Crue Ratt or anyone of the era sorry not sorry Nikki Sixx you guys made good and I love you but KIX is musically superior to all of them. did everything right, have the songs to back it up and they still have to work regular jobs once in a while. Steve Whiteman and the rest should be in the Hall of Fame and be worshiped like the Beatles. MD produced the best hard rock band to ever walk Earth

    I had the first three on vinyl, Fuse on cassette and Hotwire on CD. Saw them at Harpo's in Detroit on Fuse tour. Fun band. Almost went work with their management at Freefall Ent., who also managed Twisted, TNT and Zebra. "Cold Shower" was NOT the first song (I would've) to release(d) from that record. I would've went with "Layin' Rubber", Red Hot or Sex in that order.
