When I return back to my 80’s rock days,KIX is ALWAYS blasted through my speakers! Their sound, their singer, everything clicked with this band! They DEFINITELY deserved more recognition than they got! There’s not another band out there like them. ANY show of KIX is and was worth the money! God bless you guys on retiring the band…we’re gonna miss ya!

We open up with Blow my fuse .To this day it was one of the coolest moments of my life. We didn't win , but we were the loudest band that played and everyone went crazy for Blow my fuse. Thank you kix😊

One of my favorite bands since first hearing them on 98 Rock in Baltimore. I was 11 and a few years later seeing them play live. So many awesome memories. Hammerjacks, Network, some high school, 80’s In the Park, Monsters of Rock Cruise, and M3. I’m sure I’m missing some other places I’ve seen KIX. But I sure will miss seeing them live. Nicest guys and one of the greatest bands ever. 🤘🏼❤️

I have seen this band a half a dozen times and the first time was in Raleigh, NC in 85. They were so rocking that I had a tattoo with their name put on my upper arm. I have seen over 100 shows in my life and these guys for me would be in the top 5 bands live that I have ever seen. Walking Away, Cold Shower and Scarlet Fever were my fav songs on Midnight Dynamite. You had to be there to understand just how great they really were. Love this group!!!

Brian is such an incredible guy - he conversed with me over email about how they did the guitar tracking on Rock Your Face Off. And I used to go see them back in the early days - man, back then when KIX came to town, the Switch would be sold out months in advance. People would rap around the building hoping to get in. It was a hell of a good time.

I recall seeing Kix open or Britney Fox and Ratt headline the 3 band bill. I was so excited to see Ratt because I was a huge lifelong Ratt fan. I remember thinking that Kix sounded great and had great stage energy. Britney Fox was largely forgettable and left me thinking that Britney Fox should be opening for Kix. Ratt came out and sounded simply awful. I was so disappointed. I’m not sure if it was Ratt or their sound man because I couldn’t tell what song it was until the guitar solos because the sound was so loud and distorted and just a jumbled mess of noise. I was so disheartened by how terrible Ratt sounded but the one bright spot of the evening was Kix.👍

I rememer being at a Ratt/Jackyl show in Mid Michigan at the River Roar.. Dee Sneider was the MC. We were all just chilin out while the crowd was coming in. It was an outdoor show. Bay City, Michigan. Anyways they always have music playing before the show, and it was cool. Then came on Blow My Fuse, and honesty it had been a hot minute since i heard it. The damn crowd Came alive all tge sudden as if the show started. And i mean everybody was jammin. Even the younger cats out there. And i thought to myself Damn Kix has not been forgotten at all. It was cool. I think shortly after that Kix played at Rocklahoma and Blew everyone away.. Man i cant believe they are gonna retire.. 😢..

One thing I always dug about this band was their great, big, heavy duty rocking guitar sound. They kicked butt. The other bands in that were, as mentioned, for playing the goofy, pointy hockey stick guitars and sounded weak. Kix was one of the more rocking bands of that era that knew how to put on a show. Not a lazy band by any means.

My introduction to Kix was through a friend. He went to see Kiss with King Cobra. They announced that King Cobra wasn't able to play so taking their place would be Kix. They blew him away! And Kiss. He went and bought their album and called me to come listen to it. Been a fan ever since. Since they got back together they have been playing every December in our area. They were booked for this year but when i went to get tickets they were no longet listed. Then i heard an interview with Steve saying they were retiring. Bummer

I remember moving to Maryland and was working construction where the guys blasted music all day . Some of the guys asked me about Kix ! I never heard of them ,I wasnt from Maryland. Back then all they had was the debut out. So I reluctantly bought it thinking oh geez, punk rock or Marylands version of The Ramones ! But anyways first song with the sirens I thought of Sabbaths War Pigs and I loved them. Let me tell you , they played at Coast to Coast and Hammerjacks alot ! Anyone from a Metal fan or Skynyrd fan would like Kix ! One time we got tickets for Kix on New Years Eve at Hammerjacks, about as cool as you can get for a Marylander !

To be brutally honest Triumph was killer. The pairing was terrible. That would be like having Pantara open for Bon Jovi.

OMG😂.... I've never seen this show before! Hilarious!!! KIX seems so cool and the host? "What were they? Mormons"?.... "Dress British, think Yiddish".... what a character! Good, good stuff. 👍

I saw Kix open for David Lee Roth. When they played their encore they got shut down and we all booed. I'm sure that pissed off David Lee.

Everyone raves about DLR being the ultimate front man, He sucked compared to Steve Whiteman. I liked Dave in the studio but he was awful on stage when it came to actually singing the songs. Steve had the energy and actually sang true to records. Of the the many times I saw KIX they never disappointed.

We were definitely intimidated by these guys when we saw them in their rock star clothes and long hair, that's why we sucked! I wish someone would have videotaped that night.

The original lineup was the band that had edge!
When Donnie Purnell left that was the end of any hit songs. Any grit. And the live stage presence. I miss those early days when they owned Hammerjacks !

Kix was so look good! There was so much of a glut of bands around that time that were pushed hard by their record companies that Mix got lost in the shuffle. A real shame..
