Thank you Ronnie for being a piece of the soundtrack to my life, so happy to see you healthy and look forward to the new music. Thanks Jason for all that you've been doing for OUR music scene
Ronnie still has that great smile and twinkle in his eye!
Another great interview with someone who inspired so many of us on the mid Atlantic circuit. His chemistry with Brian onstage is legendary. Glad he's feeling healthy.
Keep it up Ronnie! Rooting for you dude!
Met Ronnie a couple of times and he's one of the nicest guys around. Great to see his life back on track.
40+ years of *Kix?*
Damn, where does the time go...
Time keeps on slipping into the future.
Glad to see he is doing well.
I saw them live at Hammerjacks 87 88ish and it was An amazing gig! As a young Geetar player I was in aw of those 2 guitar players! They made cool swanky back alley Northern city rock look easy! I held the cool kids cassette in my hand with pride and I studied it and the others!
Can't wait to hear from Ronnie!!!!
KIX..GET IT🔥
Awesome. Congrats Ronnie on your sobriety. That ain't easy. 2523 days here. Love jasons channel. Stand up dude. Thank you for sharing your story. Works if you work it. Miracles are there if you just let them be. Somedays, most it starts with page 417. And its worked great. God bless yall. Your doing a great thing jason.
So glad Ronnie is doing well and will get to participate in the final show. Thx for another great interview Jason. Catch you live soon.🤘🏻😎👍🏻
Happy to hear Ronnie's story. Thank you for sharing it.
kix is my fave band live these guys are incredible once i saw them and the singer said Ronnie is in rehab and Brian himself played alone but he sounded huge and beautiful tone, i think to myself how Brian can get a huge sound even with single coils tele yea these guys are something special and the singer is hilarious too, love kix
Love the 10/10 and Damage combination.
Waited since Martha Quinn showed me these guys....finally FINALLY in 2017 I got see Kix in concert! They blew away Queensryche....that new singer gots to go....Ronnie was absent from this show and the band showed deep love 4 him....they really care for Ronnie. Brian did ALL guitars and it sounded amazing but the fans and the band were missing Ronnie. Great video here Jason and Ronnie makes me 😃 smile. He is a good dude!
What a guy! What a fighter! And, what strikes me is that he is as humble and honest as Steve and Brian have been in your interviews with them. As for Kix retiring I fully understand it. They've been around for so long and as much as they still rock time takes it's toll on people. And no matter what, the music will live on!
Hats off to you Ronnie! Glad you’re clean and sober and look forward to you creating new music. You’re definitely an inspiration to others struggling with addiction and a inspiration to guitar players also.
I appreciate Bob for help keeping KIX alive! Hoping to see a lot more Ronnie than just a few songs that's for sure.
In death I may find
True peace of mind
But while I'm alive
Free choice is mine
It's either Dead, Jail or Rock 'n' Roll... (Lyrics by Michael Monroe)
Stick with Rock 'n' Roll Ronnie... Best of luck in your sobriety!
Remember going to see KIX numerous times at The Bayou in D.C. Also, remember looking over at the urinal next to me at George Mason Univ. before a show and it's Steve Whiteman!! He was like "What's up guys"
Great interview!
Ronnie, thank you for a lifetime of music. I’m a 1981 to 20?? fan.
A show favorite is “Nut Wagon”, you and Brian look like you two really enjoyed that part of the show.
Stay well and play LOUD!
Awesome to see Ronnie!!! Great show Jason.
I took lessons w Ronnie back in the day at Machen Music. I literally love him. He has always been a kind and thoughtful guy. I'm so happy to see this and see that he is doing well. Thank You for posting this. We will be there on the 17th Ronnie. Once that I heard that you would be there I bought tickets. Looking forward to the new Blues Vultures Album and hopefully some shows. Jeff and Jeannie. ❤
They added a December date tjet should make another album do a full usa tour 2024
@@brandonbergfelt536 Cool The 17th at Merriweather is definitely on. Will see what happens after that. Hopefully some Blues Vulture shows in the future too.
Its been over 25 years since i last saw Kix play live. Bmore native and to be able to take my 16 y/o daughter to see them play their last show is going to be amazing.
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Another great interview Jason!
Love you Ronnie. 💖🙏
Love KIX and hate to hear of retirement since I've never gotten the chance to see them live.Another great interview @jasongreen !
Dude you've got to make that happen then! They're phenomenal live, not to be missed! They still have a few shows between now and the final one
SAW THE LAST SHOW WITHOUT U RON....... DUDE I'VE BEEN WITH U SINCE I WAS 16 IM 56....... U GAVE US A GREAT RUN THANK U VERY MUCH ... STEVE ANNOUNCED U WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM..... GET BETTER SOON BUD👊🏻😎
Much respect for you my music brother. One day at a time. We are all here when you need us. Peace and rock. Stay strong bud. See you soon.
Wonders if Donnie will come and play on some songs on the final show
Great interview, really miss Ronnie in KIX but Donnie, wtf. Mad about someone playing your songs in a club after your prime.
❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed the interview- however it was really difficult hearing him - his audio was very inconsistent
Sad to hear Kix will be no more after this fall. But honestly they have done more shows the past few years then many other bands in a lifetime. Why Donnie still is hateful is beyond me as he must have made some royalties off his songs. But glad to see Ronnie doing well. He and Brian were a hullva team, complimenting each other’s styles. Loved the band from album one all the way to now, and still have a soft spot for Baby Timebomb, Red Red Hot and the Itch.
I missed it
Addiction is a real situation, and It's life long. It's not a 'illness' like cancer or dementia, however it is life long. Either you have it under control or you don't. People don't understand that it's not just drugs like heroin or meth or drinking alcohol.. If you have the need to ingest something everyday that changes your brain chemistry in any way. I e. Caffeine, nicotine, marijuana, you are a addict... For me it doesn't matter if you smoke a joint to get right, or smoke meth. A drug is a drug. Dependency on that substance or you get an attitude makes you an addict. Also it's all or nothing. Addicts cant socially use. "I only shoot heroin on Friday and Saturday nites"... Bullshit. You either shoot dope everyday as often as you can OR you don't. Period... It's that black and white.
If Ronnie's going to be there I don't see why he couldn't just play the set with them instead of being a special guest. Also, like any other Ticketmaster event, "people" didn't buy all those pavilion tickets
What happened to Donnie Purnell?
The other guys stole the copyright of the name to do reunion shows in 2003 for 20 years. Band was done in 1996
@@gregpeterson994 you don't just steal a copyright, that isn't how it works. Just ask RATT.
@@gregpeterson994 Steal? More than likely when they decided to get back together, they learned nobody owned the name so they grabbed it. Nothing Donnie could do because he didn't start the band. And if Donnie was involved in the so called reunion, it would have never happened. It's a fact the other guys were not happy with Donnie controlling everything, especially Steve. Mike Mc brought up Ratt. Stephen Pearcy started Ratt. It was his band. For a knucklehead like Bobby Blotzer to take the name, add a bunch of nobodies, and call it Ratt is as lame as it gets.
@@mikemc5221 Donnie got his publishing money for his song writing on them reissues. So Donnie can stop being a bitch. He has done nothing in music since KIX 96.
Could them all a bunch of no good a$$holes after them when Steve called him to tell him that Steve was going to record a song that Steve and Donnie wrote together.
Was that a beer can on his amp lol
How about Brad Divens? Cool Kids is a classic! Right up there with Appetite for Destruction
I think Steve Whiteman mentioned in one of the interviews that they want to ask him as well to take part in that farewell show.
