I don't expect much when it's chicken curry and not curried chicken
Talk truth 😂
First thing i said soon as i clicked on it 😂
THIS!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought I was the only one side eyeing the title 😂😂
i love the mom who judged entirely neutral even though she knew her sons food lmao
Because it’s her recipe 😂
She like it tastes a little like mine but he definitely missing something.
Omg I was watching before she came on thinking which one is his mom?? Bc she looks good for having a son his age 😂
Right!
If anything she's probably biased against her son; how dare you embarrass my recipe like this
Notice how he said both the other dishes were salty & the girls said his dish was bland 😂😂
I thought, he must've been in LA too long and they ruined his taste buds 😂
I know 😂 but I thought maybe I can relate because I have hypertension so low-sodium is my life. But they straight up say it’s bland
His own momma said it needed more seasoning and it was her recipe lol
But the guy is pretty cute ngl
he used to the white women making his food lol jk
I knew his was going to be bland with no salt. 😂😂😂😂 Because he claimed that everyone else's was too salty. 😂😂😂
It has no color
Well good for him…. He won’t end up getting hypertension….
@@angelicdazzleHypertension is from too much salt. Not just using salt at all. If someone doesn't use salt or uses minimal salt, everything is going to be too salty. Even if it's an all right amount of salt.
Right! His was all ashy, I knew he was lacking seasoning! He probably told his mom hers was too salty too!
u know his mom gave him the edited-for-his-taste recipe...cuz she was like, "This has no pepper"...that's not the version she eats...he was prob that lil kid who was like, "Mom, it's too salty! It's too spicy!" so she made it bland for him....but the rest of the family got the regular version
Y’all 😂this is not Caribbean, especially Jamaican. These are African individuals. Let them make it
Alright I guess we can cut we yeye past it.
@@prestonmatthews725mi never expect much from it from mi see “chicken curry”
@@angelfahlife6000That’s because it’s Curried Chicken! But we can go on and on about it. Guess it just depends on where you come from when it comes to the names of many dishes.
Definitely not Caribbean if yu don't like plantains.
That first lady made fried chicken
Not this being the nicest cast and the saltiest comments 💀
Literally 😂 like damn ppl find any reason to hate
Bruhhh
Bruv-
Frr like I think the guy could have added more salt but too much seasoning also isn’t the healthiest thing ever. Gotta find a balance between the two
She needs to be a secondary judge on all these videos. She was so fair in her judgment. So kind and lovely.
Fr I like her ❤
The fact that all 3 women, including his mom, said his dish needs more seasoning and he had the nerve to say the first two dishes were too salty is sending me 😭😭😭
His mum said more pepper needed just a Scotch bonnet or two, but they was enough salt, I know West Africans they put more salt then anyway else on this earth 😂
Right 😂😂😂😂
He Probably Been On A Low Sodium Diet
Its called having different tastes
Probably the best cast I’ve seen, I’d want to try all their dishes
Two of them didn't even bring chicken curry. How can it be the best cast? 😬
@@eeee8479 they seemed like their criticism was really honest even if they’re curry dishes weren’t what you were expecting.
@@eeee8479 these might be more of what you were looking for 1. m.ruclips.net/video/ROql8n9g5yI/видео.html

Me too!!!
@@NuellaTrueMusicthats not traditional curry at all wtf 😭
I liked this group. They seemed truthful and not out to just rate the other dishes low because they wanted to win. More people like these.
The cocoa butter channel definitely understood the assignment that the people try each other‘s & date my plate videos are simply the best ☺️😂
Most well-behaved cast ever! I'm so proud of these three!
I'm Jamaican 🇯🇲 I make curry chicken all the time but I've never had African chicken curry it looks good I'd like to try the African version.
They didn't have any gravy but I will still try too 😂
Thanks! It’s not always island style!
Love to see Mamoudou here! He is such a talented actor! I thoroughly enjoy watching everything he’s been in!!
Yes, he is handsome also!!!!!
He is!!!!! Like he’s underrated but is getting his shine w/his latest roles!🤌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾
This was good! A cool idea would be 3 siblings compete and get rated by a 4th family member.
I feel like that was done during Covid MAYBE on buzzfeed main or tasty
@@nadiadansani2139you right, I believe I watched that too😊
By a Parent or another Elder 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, African curry chicken hit different compared to Caribbean curry chicken. Honestly @cocoabutter, yall should have a Caribbena vs. African vs. Indian curry chicken special. That would be GOLD!
I love his mother’s voice. So soothing and sweet.
This is one of those rare reaction videos where the comments are honest and all the opponents were respectful of each other's dishes. I enjoyed this!
It's nice to see how different regions cook. I was a little taken aback by the first dish because it didn't look like the curry I know. I'm from The Bahamas, and it's curry chicken, and looks more like the last one. There is no right or wrong way to make food. The only criteria is for it to taste good. I might try my hand at making some African-inspired chicken curry.
I loved seeing the different takes too. The first one was more my style, but I’d eat all of them tbh. I’m amazed how well each dish looked too cuz usually there’s at least one dish that doesn’t pass the aesthetics test.
You are sooo ritht
yeah when I saw the last one I was like, yup, that's Jamaican curry chicken...but DEF spicier than his no-pepper version
The one that won the adaptation of chicken curry I have never tasted it and would like to, I wish she had shared her recipe and we could all try it.
My mummy name garnell also 😂❤🇧🇸
As a Jamaican, I can say I have eaten curry chicken from cultures that say chicken curry and have thoroughly enjoyed it!! Trust me, it's all in the preparation and not what it's called😂😂
I was expecting Caribbean people! Definitely learned something new
Ok I had no idea curry chicken (or chicken curry) was a common dish is some African countries. Learn something new every day.
Me too I didn't know they ate curry either
Only because of Indian influence
Same.
Lol, Jamaicans in the comments think they are the only people who can cook chicken in a sauce. It's okay for different cultures to call the same meal different things. Seems pretty straightforward for an adult to know that.
I'm sure we all know that. We also know that Jamaican curry is better than African curry and more traditional due to the significant amount of Indian heritage in the culture. Only an African would say otherwise. Why do you think they favored the one that is most reminiscent of Caribbean curry? We know why.
@MickeyAndMore I don't see where I mentioned anything about taste. My comment is specifically about the name.
Also, who has more influence of Indian heritage? Jamaicans or Africans? Not too clear from your comment.
@@MickeyAndMore Its all dependant on taste. Jamaicans having indian heritage in the culture dosen't it make it automatically better or valid
@@tawanamukasa9498 I agree! Either having whichever heritage, doesn't make it better.
Besides, that's not a great argument because East Africa - especially Kenya/Tanzania has a massive Indian community, and alot of the dishes have Indian influence. So the first response on this thread, doesn't hold that much weight.
@@_Sharon_JTotally agree. One of my professors from college gave me a food history article on Indian food and it’s world influence because he admired my love of history, and I found out that among the places influenced besides Africa and the Caribbean were places like the UK (curry masala), other Asian countries (curry), and Mexico (mole). It’s rather ridiculous that some Jamaicans in the comments are acting like Indians only shared their food culture in Jamaica.
I love that they loved each other's food! We need more of this: people who are willing to enjoy the food of others without feeling like its threatening their own.
Lmao I love that he was so critical about flavor, only for his mom to say his was missing flavor. You seen him go back to a little boy for a moment 😂 he was so excited to share his mama recipe. That's how I was when my granny told me her recipes... Everyone cooked with love this episode and it all looked so good!!! You can tell Binta makes curry chicken all the time at friend gatherings. The young lady with the braids, 😂😂😂 I can just imagine her saying "imma fuck them up with this" as she was cooking. All of you are top teir🎉🎉🎉🎉
He said they were too salty. So, his lacking flavor actually made sense.
his mom gave him the recipe for HIS taste...not the one she and the rest of the family eats...I was a picky child so my mom made my dishes different from everyone else's...so I know
She didn’t say his was missing flavor, she said it was missing spice
not buzzfeed inciting a diaspora war askdjkasj 😭😂
I hope you say that about the white Americans here who have no idea where they are really from. Which cave which mountain?
@@faithfletcher2365 lucky for you, i dont care about them folks and their unseasoned food 🤭
@@Melaniavelli understood 🤣
It is sweet how he looks at his mom and talks about her. You can tell he loves and admires her.
Now this was a good set of cast! Everyone was respectful, nice, humble, not cocky, and they rated fairly. I like that even the winner didn’t end up being cocky, she just had confidence 👍🏽
Also this goes to show how peoples taste buds really are different bc the guy thought each plate was too salty but the 2 girls thought his food needed more salt… really comes down to peoples preferences and taste buds
I love Mamoudou! He was amazing in Archive 81. Love Everyone in this episode. Everyone was kind and respectful of eachother's dishes.
The Queen Mother is stunning in every way. 👑
Where my Caribbean peeps 👀👀
Exactly
🇧🇿 🇧🇿 🇧🇿
Not in the video that's for sure
This was a great episode. I loved the mom judging and everyone was fair. Thank you.
ok, so I feel like I saw 2 party jollof dishes which I guess comes in a variation called Chicken Curry and one curried chicken dish (the rice did look a little too sticky). This is probably one of those where this needs to be broken down within the diaspora: West Indian curried chicken (maybe between any set of islands, but two have to be Trinidad and Jamaica) needs its own episode.
Well you just throw grenada 🇬🇩 aside and ain't look back nah🤣🤣 we does make a wicked curry too.
But they all were from Africa. It just showed the variety in the African version of the dish. The 3rd person was not from the Caribbean. They were from East Africa.
@@deb1920 their dishes looked delicious, I just know all we West Indian massive were initially confused.
@@XMachete I know. I'm just saying that even though the 3rd one looked more familiar, it was still from Africa. Your comment seemed like you thought it was West Indian and needed to be in the separate videos you mentioned.
@@deb1920 oh! Nahhh, just that it was the only one that even looked something like what we would expect!
Best looking dishes, best mannered guests it didn't feel like there was an antagonistic person they were all nice and wholesome all throughout. This is my favorite episode so far
I love this!!! My mother is Guyanese, my theee favorite chicken curries are Guyanese, Jamaican, and Trinidadian ❤ I have NEVER tried African curry! But I really want to now because food from every country in Africa is AMAZING!❤❤❤❤❤
Only people that can curry to my liking are trinis, grenadians & Guyanese 🎉...for the record, I'm trinidadian! But you are right 👌🏾
I am Jamaican and I was taken aback but still want to try😊
for me Guyanese and Trini curry is the best. Especially roti🤤🤤🤤
I really like that they weren’t lying. The first girl said the guys dish wasn’t salty enough, and he said hers was too salty. That’s how you know they’re not pulling stuff out of their ass lol
Wow… y’all really didn’t call me for this one? That’s WILD 🇬🇾 smh
Exactly 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
GGGGGTTTTT!! 🇬🇾🇬🇾
🤣🤣 I thought for sure this was allyuh own🤣🤣🤣🇬🇩
If you call it "chicken curry" I automatically assume the worst. We Jamaicans say curry chicken!
Lol fr 😂 like it’s curry chicken
Exactly i was thinking that it's curry chicken lol
Belizeans say ‘curry chicken’ as well 😂
Yea mon
@@wadehiggins1114don’t do that
So glad Binta won!hers really did look the best to me and she was so humble. Although ngl, I love curried chicken with white rice
I love how they were positive about each plate. Just honest but nice.
His mom is so beautiful! Congrats to Binta her plate looked sooo good and I would go for seconds plus a doggy bag for later 😋
They’re all so nice! Cocoa butter been doing good lately with the people they pick. Everyone really showed potential down to the praise and their dishes. Congratulations to the winner though :)
The most humble and polite cast so far
His mother was very honest, lol. His Chicken Curry didn't have spice. Feels like a setup, lol.
Ya'll, I don't think this is the carribean curried chicken that they were showing. Seems to be an African twist on a chicken curry recipe.
Right.
Well said that’s definitely not Caribbean
Definitely Not Caribbean at all !!
An African twist on a chicken curry? It's just African food, not a twist on anything. Is yours a twist on Indian food since they originated it? Lmao.
@marthal8862 It's not that serious babes
Wait a minute…
WHAT KINDA CURRY IS DIS???
As a white male I love this show for two reason, 1. Learning how to cook better 2. Enjoy the vibes that cooking brings to the table 💜🤙
Shout out to the BEAUTIFUL AMARACHI! Nigeria 🇳🇬!!! My NAIJA FLEX 👏🏾🙌🏾☝🏾👌🏾💪🏾✊🏾
He already looks as if black pepper is too spicy for him. When he said he didn’t like plantains , that confirmed it 😂
Honestly, all of their dishes looked really good!
I knew he didn't season his food when he was tasting theirs... Both these ladies are beautiful especially the winner! 👋🏿
The winner looks so... moisturized ! I love it ❤❤❤
❤ the mom gave everyone a high score love her
Binta winning was no surprise to me. Her's looked the best! Plus she is VERY beautiful 😍
First time i see people not hating other peoples food just to hate
I loved (as in great acting) Mamoudou in the Netflix series archive 81 I’m so mad they cancelled it.
Yea. Currently his movie Elemental is in cinemas. It's a Disney cartoon
This my whole man
He's such a great actor. He's definitely headed for an oscar very soon. One to watch.
@@DeeDiamond2981it’s good! I saw it last weekend and Cried.
@@smileycakes9593 so heartfelt. I loved Wade..
As a Jamaican who travels and have contacts with people from different parts of Asia, Europe and Africa the ' curry ' differs. Most think of curry as a turmeric dish and there are so much diffrent curries. Jamaicans put the word ' curry ' before the protein or vegetables and the word curry is a noun so we Jamaicans actually have it ( wrong ) but we are also ( right ). We say rice and peas and not beans and rice. India has so much curry it would blow your minds and take an extensive time to try them out.
Imma let you finish but Jamaica got the best curry dish in the world 🌍.. honorable mention is Asian curry dishes.. i personally feel like Indian curry dishes is just too much going on.. simplicity is the best imo
@@Lvnthvbs777I’ve had both. Indian curry 1000000% winning every time
@@sayo_xo8569 that’s your personal opinion and that’s completely fine. For me, it’s always gonna be Jamaican curry over any other culture’s version 💯
I love this! Everyone could cook. His mother was fair and honest. I love these "people try" series!
Idk if it’s the clip I smoked, glass of wine, or headsets turned up, but everyone’s voice in this video is mad soothing!!! Lemme not make excuses…. They all just have podcast sounds!🥰😫✨😂😂
I love that everybody is very positive and respectful
It's curry, only one had curry sauce! Mamoudou absolutely saved this one. His dish reminded me of a creole curry poulet that I would have a child 🤩.
Exactly...
The other two cooked the rice in the curry sauce the way they would with jollof rice hence the comparisons🙄
Literally. If I see chicken curry, I'm expecting curry sauce and rice the way it is in Asia and the West Indies. The man was the automatic winner for me.
@@JAZZDkitchen I get what your saying but even Ghanaians & Nigerians would agree its not a curry sauce the rice is cooked in. It's more or less a tomato based sauce with chillie, peppers & other stock ingredients. But it's probably a US understanding of what's considered a curry. All love though.
GOD FORBID different countries make theirs differently.
MamaDouDou and Binta need to go on a cooking date together!! His mama already approves🥰
I love these videos of people try and the date one's I just wish there were more!! keep em coming!!
Mom needs to be an official food critic because she did this like she was doing this her whole life
Why are there so many people in the comments thinking they own curry lmao? It's chicken curry everywhere but the West Indies, relax!
Maybe go check on wikipedia what curry means. This ain't curry.
The mom is so elegant
Amarachi kinda favors T Boz to me 🤎 & I loveee watching these episodes! Especially when there is a judge at the end to rate the dishes as well.
I like how they are all nice and had something positive to say about every dish
Appreciated this and loved seeing Mamadou.
I really liked this episode, everyone was really kind and nice to each other which was great to see. And I loved the mum at the end, it was such a nice ending and really enjoyable to watch! ❤️
Been scrolling endlessly, and I haven’t noticed anyone, yet, who mentioned Archive 81. Thank you Mamoudou Athie for bringing us such a thrilling performance! I watched the show literally 2 weeks ago, while I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic. It was a treat for a fan of good thriller and drama! Keep on doing what you’re doing!
I love that yall are still doing these
I didn’t even know Africans made curry chicken! I thought it was just us Caribbeans ❤
Everybody makes curry chicken my dear. Even Japan have their own style. Of course south Asains too😊. Curry is comfort food.
There’s a heavy Indian Arabic influence in African cuisine, so no surprise there!
Yes because chicken curry is a carribean dish? Y’all didn’t even invent it it’s an Indian dish and u even say the name of the dish wrong
ITS CURRY CHICKEN NOT CHICKEN CURRY !!! 🇯🇲
That’s right! I’m cringing every time I hear chicken curry 😬
Hi, not everyone says curry chicken. Not even all of the caribbean. Stop acting as if Jamaica owns curry!
Curry originatedin India anyway, and they say Chicken Curry.
@@jayedith9398 In India, Curry is a plethora of dishes (,as it refers to the style of cooking from what I understand), if you ask for Chicken Curry you can get at least 5 different dishes and only maybe a couple will look yellow.
So even you are wrong.
@@HandleUnclearExactly. I’ve never heard a South Asian say “curry”, even when the a dish looks like a curry. Japan has a type of curry too (but I personally really dislike the taste of theirs😅)
@@HandleUnclear I said that it is chicken curry. Ok?
I AM NOT WRONG.
It doesnt matter if you are from North or South. The name of the protein/main ingredient is said first, THEN the style it is cooked. CHICKEN curry. KADDU sabzi. CHANA masala.
India has over 1 billion people. This is how it is said. I was not talking about which varaiation. I am talking about rude Jamaicans acting as if they invented the dish.
Stupidest part is that the people in this video were from different parts of Africa!!!
Why would they call it the JAMAICAN WAY.
It is Chicken Curry for them. Jamaicans should call it Curry Chicken if THEY MADE IT!!!
STOP GUARDING THE NAME!!!! NARCISSIST.
You're on fire with the videos. Loved this one. Loved the special judge.
Wow, I was surprised that the "mom" was the actual MOM. She looks so young and glowing ❤
Mamoudou's mom is so sweet. Also, this is a very good looking group. My people are beautiful.
White rice is the base and the curry is the flavouring here…having a flavoured rice takes away from the curry itself
I love how everyone was so respectful 💯
This was very enticing to watch. The whole cast was very respectful of each other's plates and the mom was a fair judge. I would love to try some of the mom's cooking. Please keep these videos coming, Cocoa Butter.
That girl was on After Happily Ever After.. loved her. The show was messy but good 😂
Best Group ever!! They all seemed fair and genuine in their ratings and comments. Even Mom!
All dishes looked amazing!!
this is probably one of the best vids and cast. Binta was so bright, she deserved it
Why he keep saying it taste like jambalaya😂😂😂
Because she said she kind of made jollof which is similar to jambalaya 😂
Cause give or take an ingredient here or there they are extremely similar and not that far off from one another
I actually love white rice I'd definitely try all their dishes
I never thought about cooking chicken curry the way Amarachi & Binta did- by cooking the rice in the sauce. I’m gonna try it, it looks soo good 🤩
i really enjoyed the guy and the winner, they were respectful and gave constructive criticism without being rude. i'd like to see more of them, especially the guy; he was my favorite

It was so nice seeing him on here. Black Box was one of my favorite Blumhouse movies and the Get Down was such a good series. His food looked good too.

Omg the mother and son interaction at the end melted my heart. Boys usually love their moms cooking!❤
Mamoudou was COUGHING from the second dish😂
