My autistic animator ass has rewinded and rewatched this series to death. I am laughing my ass off every time. The obvious foreshadowing, the mom's slip-up, Gogo's "luxury" outhouse, the painted tree vs handrawn, the "hai" translation, the "hideous" Geiko bit, the "I hate animating water", everything is turly gold. I am loving every second of this, KEEP 👏 IT 👏 UP!
Really enjoyed the first episode but this one is absolutely brilliant, I don’t normally laugh out loud at movies and videos but the writing and timing here was so consistently well done I was laughing every 20 seconds or so, massive props, love this series a whole lot! (animation and everything else was also perfect)

Throughout the whole thing I was fine. I was doing okay. But the "yes." ("hai") absolutely shattered me. CURRRSSEEEE YOUUUU SPEEDORUUU!!!! I hereby vow! You will rue this day!!
If anyone is curious where the "bright colored object is the moving one" thing came from, it's how older cartoons were animated. The background would be on a bottom layer, then in layers on top of that you'd have moving objects, then characters, whatever else on a clear film. This allowed them to add action without having to redraw the background every frame. Although clear, the layers would shift colors slightly and block some light. So the objects characters would interact with would appear brighter meaning the audience would always get queued in on what things aren't part of the background and likely to be interacted with. It's why the tree gag works. "The bright thing is the moving thing" expectation gets subverted because computers work on layers that don't color shift.
And not to mention backgrounds usually were painterly, whereas things that were supposed to be animated usually had clear linework and were mostly painted in color flats. This way, you could almost always know just by looking at a frame what the characters were going to interact with.
I always found that annoying & funny at the same time when watching Scooby Doo as a kid. There's a trope name for it at Tvtropes. Conspicuously Light Patch. Edit: Ha, I just found out a clip of this video is already the example video at the bottom of that trope's page at Tvtropes.
I've been saying that since I was 10 every time i got a limb hurt in some way. With no other proof, I will say Speedo stole my joke despite having never interacted with me in any way.
It's a really small detail in the grand scheme of things, but I really like how the cut on Gogo's cheek actually stayed there instead of just dissapearing two scenes later. It really helps add extra tension to the fight, as silly as the whole thing is.

Now that there are officially two episodes I can finally say that this is the best RUclips animated SERIES I’ve ever seen. The animation is perfect, and it’s hilarious.

There's a few references like that, the axe to the face is reference to Part 7 and Gogo dressing up as the father is a reference to Part 2 when the protag of that film dresses up as Jason's mother to trick him.

@@Hromovlad1 Yes, but they usually 'reveal the truth' in like...the 4th or 5th to last episode of Season 1 or somewhere at the beginning of Season 2. The latter would implicate that confronting the father in person would be the end goal of the 2nd Season.

My autistic animator ass has rewinded and rewatched this series to death. I am laughing my ass off every time. The obvious foreshadowing, the mom's slip-up, Gogo's "luxury" outhouse, the painted tree vs handrawn, the "hai" translation, the "hideous" Geiko bit, the "I hate animating water", everything is turly gold. I am loving every second of this, KEEP 👏 IT 👏 UP!

Really enjoyed the first episode but this one is absolutely brilliant, I don’t normally laugh out loud at movies and videos but the writing and timing here was so consistently well done I was laughing every 20 seconds or so, massive props, love this series a whole lot! (animation and everything else was also perfect)

The animation and the voice acting is so satisfying, the color scheme, vfx, the visual gags, everything is perfect

Nono's VA is my fav in this series, which is really impressive considering how talented literally all of them are. Just listen to her reaction to Geiko's face at 9:10. Priceless!

Throughout the whole thing I was fine. I was doing okay. But the "yes." ("hai") absolutely shattered me. CURRRSSEEEE YOUUUU SPEEDORUUU!!!! I hereby vow! You will rue this day!!
If anyone is curious where the "bright colored object is the moving one" thing came from, it's how older cartoons were animated. The background would be on a bottom layer, then in layers on top of that you'd have moving objects, then characters, whatever else on a clear film. This allowed them to add action without having to redraw the background every frame. Although clear, the layers would shift colors slightly and block some light. So the objects characters would interact with would appear brighter meaning the audience would always get queued in on what things aren't part of the background and likely to be interacted with. It's why the tree gag works. "The bright thing is the moving thing" expectation gets subverted because computers work on layers that don't color shift.

And not to mention backgrounds usually were painterly, whereas things that were supposed to be animated usually had clear linework and were mostly painted in color flats. This way, you could almost always know just by looking at a frame what the characters were going to interact with.

It's a really small detail in the grand scheme of things, but I really like how the cut on Gogo's cheek actually stayed there instead of just dissapearing two scenes later.
It really helps add extra tension to the fight, as silly as the whole thing is.

Now that there are officially two episodes I can finally say that this is the best RUclips animated SERIES I’ve ever seen. The animation is perfect, and it’s hilarious.

All the terrible fates listed at 9:29* are actual things that have happened to Jason across the FT13 movies. Love the attention to detail.
There's a few references like that, the axe to the face is reference to Part 7 and Gogo dressing up as the father is a reference to Part 2 when the protag of that film dresses up as Jason's mother to trick him.
