Phindoll was one of the coolest characters imo, he’s one of the only ones that wasn’t mean or agressive towards her-he did hit her, but that was part of the ritual. I really hope we’ll get to see all these other ‘NPCs’ again

Yes except we can string together the stuff characters say to make some sense no matter how small. Although yes they work well as slice of life episodes. There are a lot of things that stay consistent such as the implications of a lot of ENAs (the royal-esque looking guy saying "like the rest of them", that being in the sunflower field "another ENA troublemaker", the Rubik thing in Extinction party saying "Simpletons" in plural). This is just an example but it's the easiest one to string together

I think the reason why the blue side of her turned yellow is that her wish was for it to be gone. During the series, she would often apologize or try to excuse herself after an outburst, so she probably feels very insecure and shameful because of it.

ive been thinking about this, and i think maybe that since she was in such a state of agony, the sadness fully took over not just become the dominant half, but her happy side literally blew up and there was no division in her, and she was so engrossed in her suffering that it was like she BECAME it (face=identity, her face on her hands covering her now blank face in pain) as for the gray color, maybe since it's black+white (two sides of her face when she experiences extreme emotion), or maybe she's "muting" her other side or ability to function normally, whether by choice or by being overwhelmed edit: upon further viewing (and listening) it seems like the arms run away as well
it seems like a pretty textbook panic attack to me.. albeit with the usual surreal weird crap idk i dont see it as all that different from the rest of the ena stuff
Dumb theory: Anyone else notice how fluid ENA's movements become after a while? It's no long stop, turn, walk, stop, look around. It becomes looking around while walking. It reminds me of the process of faking you're fine. Her sad voice speaks with the happy face like the choppy steps of hiding sadness. Also she has to go through a code to get to the next area, like reprogramming yourself.
I keep coming back to these videos and I keep getting a weird sense of nostalgia that reminds me of programming and scripting of 90’s and 00’s games and software. Maybe that’s the idea behind these of Joel’s just making strange but passionate art with his animations and videos. Either way, will always come back to rewatch these videos.

I feel like ENA lives in an old, outdated, and unused computer where data and files are free to roam anywhere within the computer. I also feel like maybe this computer was damaged and there for no longer in use, and allows for what I previously mentioned.
Reboot was this concept to a T, minus the fact that the computer is actually used to play games regularly. But yeah Ena wears its references on its sleeves

I’m wondering how much that detail ties into all this. We also don’t technically know what Runas looks like, I guess; that big thing with legs could just be a vehicle, with Runas behind the door in some kind of pocket space, and we don’t really know what’s up with that mannequin with a dress that it zorped into.

I hate how no one else is talking about Ulysses. I love his character design and I feel like what he says isn’t even considered for theories. He seems to only give Ena the option to leave once she mentions her bet with Moony. The music also begins to fade as he talks about her failing “like the rest of them” which to me seems like a very clear indicator that he has also encountered multiple Enas just like the Shepherd. This also brings up something strange: How are these others getting into the Great Runas? I assume the goal is to beat Runas to the standing figure before time runs out, and Ena appeared there after failing the challenge by a small margin allowing her to be taken in. If the other Enas were already in Runas, this has to mean other Enas were present for previous Runas parties and all failed as well. Does this mean a few inevitably succeeded? And if Runas parties only happen every few years, how far in the past do these other Enas originate from? “Desires are never quenched” is also something to take into consideration. If he means that Runas wishes don’t grant what the wisher truly wants, then why did Moony’s wish to be thinner get granted? Perhaps her wish to be thinner wasn’t granted how she wished, as she ended up hatching into an entirely new entity.
I'd like to add that when he speaks he seems to be luring and warding ENA away simultaneously. Almost like he has to let her through but fears what will happen within. But he presumably hasn't been through the Holy Code so how does he know they failed?
Someone here pointed out that the rude way some characters have spoken to Ena (sans Moony) suggests that she's not unique, but rather a type of being in that world. If this is true, does this tie into how Ena keeps "breaking down" and glitching? So far she's the only one who does it seemingly unintentionally (Moony at the end wasn't glitching so much as she was like, hatching or having lipo IDK), and it seems she keeps getting worse, although due to the rules of the world it's hard to say. The frog had to punch her out of that new gray form and she rebooted herself, Phindoll was noticeably taken aback by the violent outburst of her sad white form, too. Plus at the end, she was slowly turning fully yellow. Which leads to my theory: Is Ena a robot/android of some sort? Or is her unstable mind and body a staple of her kind, and if that's so, is that why others look down upon her? *Edit:* WAIT ANOTHER THING I NOTICED: The broken down Enas at the room after Shepherd's briefly glitch into the same mannequins that appear at the start, outside Runa's walking world. Maybe this could be further proof Ena really is just a type of being that the rest regard as expendable/simple?
Assuming that this is a virtual world, she is more likely to be a program. A glitchy one. Maybe virus, as we see that she is but many. Probably these events were attempts of a firewall to get rid of her and/or Moony. Like, they wanted to Run As, meaning they wanted full control of a system. I bet there is some hystorical virus that sounds like the names of the main characters.
By the looked of it, the broken down enas are a single colour plus they flicker into being the default human model. Its possible ENA is a skin over such a blank avatar - further reinforcing the 'sentient chat world' theory

I feel like if we ended up in a future where everyone's immortal minds get stuck in a VR world where you can literally create anything but the concept quickly becomes pointless, this would be the kind of world made. Just an endless universe of realms rooms and voids created by individual minds on a whim, so vast that there no longer remains a place where more than a few people at a time can get together because literally everyone is either in their own created world or endlessly wandering (or trapped) in someone else's. In such a world, ena and the moon chick just feel like two beings who randomly found each other and just spend their time roaming these endless planes of existence, their minds slowly continuing to decay due to the potent mix of total isolation and sensory overload from the strange worlds they head through, and wacky characters they talk to.

Is anyone gonna talk about how ENA quite literally broke herself in the beggining? That gray ENA was not normal, even for her.

ive been thinking about this, and i think maybe that since she was in such a state of agony, the sadness fully took over
not just become the dominant half, but her happy side literally blew up and there was no division in her, and she was so engrossed in her suffering that it was like she BECAME it (face=identity, her face on her hands covering her now blank face in pain)
as for the gray color, maybe since it's black+white (two sides of her face when she experiences extreme emotion), or maybe she's "muting" her other side or ability to function normally, whether by choice or by being overwhelmed
edit: upon further viewing (and listening) it seems like the arms run away as well
also, this could be related to those other sides of Ena we saw in extinction party when she was drunk, this being the opposite of that perhaps

Dumb theory: Anyone else notice how fluid ENA's movements become after a while? It's no long stop, turn, walk, stop, look around. It becomes looking around while walking. It reminds me of the process of faking you're fine. Her sad voice speaks with the happy face like the choppy steps of hiding sadness. Also she has to go through a code to get to the next area, like reprogramming yourself.

@@adrian.412 Naw, I’m thinking Moony was behind ENA at first with the headstart and all, but she clearly managed to get past ENA and reach the Great Runas first. I’m wondering how much that detail ties into all this.
We also don’t technically know what Runas looks like, I guess; that big thing with legs could just be a vehicle, with Runas behind the door in some kind of pocket space, and we don’t really know what’s up with that mannequin with a dress that it zorped into.
I just found this channel in November ‘24. I guess youtube was onto something by recommending this because I really like surreal, avant-garde art and storytelling. After reading through the comments, I guess this is a series? I’m definitely subscribing!

I hate how no one else is talking about Ulysses. I love his character design and I feel like what he says isn’t even considered for theories. He seems to only give Ena the option to leave once she mentions her bet with Moony. The music also begins to fade as he talks about her failing “like the rest of them” which to me seems like a very clear indicator that he has also encountered multiple Enas just like the Shepherd. This also brings up something strange:
How are these others getting into the Great Runas? I assume the goal is to beat Runas to the standing figure before time runs out, and Ena appeared there after failing the challenge by a small margin allowing her to be taken in. If the other Enas were already in Runas, this has to mean other Enas were present for previous Runas parties and all failed as well. Does this mean a few inevitably succeeded? And if Runas parties only happen every few years, how far in the past do these other Enas originate from?
“Desires are never quenched” is also something to take into consideration. If he means that Runas wishes don’t grant what the wisher truly wants, then why did Moony’s wish to be thinner get granted? Perhaps her wish to be thinner wasn’t granted how she wished, as she ended up hatching into an entirely new entity.

I'd like to add that when he speaks he seems to be luring and warding ENA away simultaneously. Almost like he has to let her through but fears what will happen within. But he presumably hasn't been through the Holy Code so how does he know they failed?

Someone here pointed out that the rude way some characters have spoken to Ena (sans Moony) suggests that she's not unique, but rather a type of being in that world. If this is true, does this tie into how Ena keeps "breaking down" and glitching? So far she's the only one who does it seemingly unintentionally (Moony at the end wasn't glitching so much as she was like, hatching or having lipo IDK), and it seems she keeps getting worse, although due to the rules of the world it's hard to say.
The frog had to punch her out of that new gray form and she rebooted herself, Phindoll was noticeably taken aback by the violent outburst of her sad white form, too. Plus at the end, she was slowly turning fully yellow.
Which leads to my theory: Is Ena a robot/android of some sort? Or is her unstable mind and body a staple of her kind, and if that's so, is that why others look down upon her?
*Edit:* WAIT ANOTHER THING I NOTICED: The broken down Enas at the room after Shepherd's briefly glitch into the same mannequins that appear at the start, outside Runa's walking world. Maybe this could be further proof Ena really is just a type of being that the rest regard as expendable/simple?

Assuming that this is a virtual world, she is more likely to be a program. A glitchy one. Maybe virus, as we see that she is but many. Probably these events were attempts of a firewall to get rid of her and/or Moony. Like, they wanted to Run As, meaning they wanted full control of a system. I bet there is some hystorical virus that sounds like the names of the main characters.

By the looked of it, the broken down enas are a single colour plus they flicker into being the default human model. Its possible ENA is a skin over such a blank avatar - further reinforcing the 'sentient chat world' theory

I feel like if we ended up in a future where everyone's immortal minds get stuck in a VR world where you can literally create anything but the concept quickly becomes pointless, this would be the kind of world made.
Just an endless universe of realms rooms and voids created by individual minds on a whim, so vast that there no longer remains a place where more than a few people at a time can get together because literally everyone is either in their own created world or endlessly wandering (or trapped) in someone else's.
In such a world, ena and the moon chick just feel like two beings who randomly found each other and just spend their time roaming these endless planes of existence, their minds slowly continuing to decay due to the potent mix of total isolation and sensory overload from the strange worlds they head through, and wacky characters they talk to.
This is such a well written/thought out concept, I love this interpretation!!
