This is amazing and that’s an a understatement.
I'm old enough to remember watching the ceremony live on a CRT tv in a Sendai train station, when the emperor was crowned. The atmosphere was electric. He didn't have any connection to the royal family, but he spoke japanese so fluently, and he loved japan so much, they had to give it to him.
He told a touching story about how when he was younger, a bully said to him, "if you love japan so much, why don't you marry it?". Then he broke down in tears. The entire country felt that. If you've ever wondered why clips of the emperor appear in so much classic anime, now you probably understand.

@@glads-bw6he Back in the day, the fansub communities were active on 4chan so they would inject those sensibilities into the shows. One of the most famous groups back then was commiesubs who was known for their heavy handed localization. They would add slang or reference memes that sometimes didn’t match the personality of the characters. But if they also didn’t care for the show, their translations would become more trollish, purposefully using poor localization to annoy the fans. I could totally see a happy little girl saying “forreal, homeboy?” If they didn’t like it.
The bit with the demon holding the bomb just straightup SENDS me. Like in a complete nonsense world, that one part somehow tops it all. This short was brilliant
1:03 and 4:51 did it for me. Funny visual gags that did not need to be explained and just happen because the creator literally thought it be funny even if they may not make complete sense.
Except that one that just brought a bomb with it. Some say he is back in hell, contemplating what was the game plan with it. Was he just a Kamikaze struck with amnesia? A Grenadier who is dyslexic? we will never know
This is the best thing I've seen in years. A love letter to 90's anime and all of its glorious cheesiness while the jokes come non-stop. And huge props to the Japanese voice actors, they did a perfect job.
This… this is indie animation I’m fully supportive of. *This* deserves a series, and not just because of nostalgia, but because of the sheer quality of literally every aspect of it.

This entire thing was a genuine laugh from scene to scene. I wish it was a genuine series. Just the first joke is so simple but immediately builds into a hilarious surprise. Gasping and inhaling the alarm clock. Only to make the same noise when making her mother. A visual gag on a trope that turns on expectations. This was way too well written to be a one off thing.
Considering Nono is a hybrid, the demon lord's ring being on his ring finger and Mom being suspicious and awkward in the tournament, i sense the remnants of a controversial marriage.
Also how the mother would know that the Demon Lord needed glasses and why did she get annoyed so fast ? I feel like this was a common thing that happened when they where a couple. Would explain the strength of Gogo and her sister being a demon.
This was an amazing ride! So much love was put into this! Hope we get to see more in the future. Also the humor in this was beautifully crafted, thank you.
hey guys! thanks for watching PPF! i will be making more to those who've been asking. its just gonna take a while! EDIT #3678: alright the video still seems to not be showing up for some people when they search, but does for others. idk whats happening anymore. thank you RUclips! this rocks!
Had a bunch of these recorded in 1993 but I accidentally tripped and fell and suplexed all my fucking VHS recordings of it instantly demolishing the entire box. Glad someone is taking the time to upload their own recordings of it, hopefully I can finally watch the Godfist Kool-Aid arc once again
Godfist Kool-Aid is my favorite character. His filler episodes are worth watching to flesh out his convoluted relationship with the Demon King’s assistant.
Do we know if we get the movies? I know technically they are non canon but "Biscuit Clash in the Time Washer" had that amazing scene between Nono and Krunko that still makes me cry to this very day.
This is SO amazing. The little ad cuts, the theme song, the HUMOR? This reminds me of old animations you’d find on RUclips. Really hits a weird nostalgia I didn’t know I missed. Feels like 2000’s era Cartoon Network shorts that I binged as a child and would stay up just to watch.
Very impressed with the production team keeping this absolute classic show up for 62737 weeks in a row. It might've taken over 1200 years, but the story they told was a truly heartwarming one that everyone should check out at least once.
No, I read in my 1990 World Encyclopedia that they had two teams working in tandem. They managed to make biweekly releases, so it only took 600 years, giver or take. My favorites were any episodes that were a multiple of 6, 66, etc... because all the demons became human and vice-versa. But they used sitcom rules on those, so everything went back to status quo after. And who can forget the musical season!
@bsharpmajorscale yeah but all of that material is non-canon and Speedoru clearly said that he wasn't gonna be including any of it in the main story. When's the last time you saw Kung POW aside from a nonsequitor gag in the last 3 manga arcs?
This cartoon feels more cartoonish than any cartoon I've seen in the past 10~ years. It's like if Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Spongebob, Newgrounds animations, and anime all got smashed into one video on RUclips. S-Tier.
@@creativecipher Corny means: trite, banal, or mawkishly sentimental. It's hard to convey if you're not used to the phrases OP is using but his first sentence is way too overreaching when their actual point is just "I really like this animation style." It's essentially like making an authoritative statement about the quality of music in a certain genre when the person making the statement has only listened to one song in said genre. Their second sentence is also a pretty overused phrase and is also meaningless platitude when their point is still "I just really like this animation." If OP had actually elaborated on their feelings rather than just using a statement that they have no way of proving followed by a meaningless platitude then it'd be way less corny.
The random comedic/unhinged bits are not only well-animated but also paced/timed well. The transition into the car flying off the cliff, the mom dragged like a JPEG into the crowd, the demon emperor’s “oh fuck” along with the quick bit of Gogo having a shredded body when the art contrasts so much from her head. It’s all fantastic and I’m super excited for more to come with this animation!!
Can't imagine how long this person, speedoru has been working on this or how much work has gone into this production but this is AMAZING, speedoru and their team deserves all the praise bro.
I get the vibe that this was meant as a one-off episode it's just so damn silly... But if you guys keep making cartoons, and they're as hilarious as this one, I don't care if you make episode 2!!! I loved every second of this insanity.
I’ve probably watched this 9 times & all I can say is I need a 6 season box set, a movie & several hundred posters/merch. Everything about this is art.
The fact that I didn't realize that my video size was cutting out the captions until like three quarters of the way through and was still able to follow everything just fine is such a marvel in visual storytelling! Independent animation is proving to be amazing as usual!

Sounds legit
Personally, I was terrified of the fact he was a giant and thought they gave him, an outsider, the ancestral throne for that reason.

Oh man I didn't even notice that! Translating majide (まじで) to "Forreal, homeboy?" is such a great reference to the old fansubbing communities.
I don't understand the joke :(
If only somebody can explain it to me...
@@glads-bw6he old anime's are subbed mostly by fans, and some fans add like these funny things to the translation but still retains the idea of what the character said in japanese. majide (まじで) means "Really?" in that context, So forreal homeboy is the same but funnier.

@@glads-bw6he Back in the day, the fansub communities were active on 4chan so they would inject those sensibilities into the shows.
And who can forget the musical season!
didn't enjoy the sauce :(

@@creativecipher Corny means: trite, banal, or mawkishly sentimental. It's hard to convey if you're not used to the phrases OP is using but his first sentence is way too overreaching when their actual point is just "I really like this animation style." It's essentially like making an authoritative statement about the quality of music in a certain genre when the person making the statement has only listened to one song in said genre.
Their second sentence is also a pretty overused phrase and is also meaningless platitude when their point is still "I just really like this animation."
If OP had actually elaborated on their feelings rather than just using a statement that they have no way of proving followed by a meaningless platitude then it'd be way less corny.
