This guy gives solid advise. I had an I7 6700k back in the day and swapped to the R7 2700x. It had massive stutter in many games so bad that I went back to the 6700k. Then I finally upgraded to the R7 5700x from the I7 6700k and it seemed ok but didn't feel smooth. It definitly wasn't as smooth as the 6700k but I had already sold that cpu. I swapped to the I7 13700k and I couldn't be happier. So, I've tried AMD on two occasions and ended up swapping back to intel. Think I'm done messing around with AMD cpu's for a while.

      @K31TH3R
"You're getting FPS fluctuations from IF error correction caused by an unstable FCLK and/or insufficient spreads of CLDO VDDG IOD and VDDG CCD that is reducing IF signal SNR. Incorrect CLDOs for the SoC voltage and FCLK frequency can degrade SNR and cause non-verbose error correction on the IF link between the IMC and CCD, this will cause stutters whenever error correction is present on the IF. You can either reduce the FCLK/MCLK so you can run auto CLDO (noob method) or you can do a manual binary search of VDDG CCD and run DRAM read bandwidth tests with different CLDO CCD values until the number comes to a peak (competent method).
CLDO VDDG's are problematic on AMD and they often sabotage otherwise good system builders when this problems crops up at high FCLK/MCLK. Per Sampson, AMD is working on adding automatic CLDO tuning functionality to Ryzen Master to help people unfamiliar with tuning on AMD to reach higher FCLK/MCLK stable without error correction kicking in and causing FPS fluctuations.
Stabilize the FCLK/MCLK by either reducing them until you can run Auto VDDG CCD stable, or work on dialing VDDG IOD/CCD in until DRAM bandwidth peaks and there are also no WHEA 19 errors present in event viewer. Correctly tuned, the error correction stops, the FPS fluctuations go away, and you'll see the 7800X3D either match or exceed the 0.1% and1% lows of 13th and 14th gen Intel.
Granted, tuning AMD correctly is a PITA and it's way more time consuming versus Intel, but this "AM dip" thing you talk about is not actually a problem inherent to Ryzen, it's due to IF error correction caused by incorrect CLDOs in relation to the SoC voltage and FCLK/MCLK frequency."

Then, considering workload stuff, the 7800x3d is literally a third of the i9 when it comes to multi-tasking and work related raw processing power, like video editing and etc.
Even AMDs flagship R9 7950x needs to be at negative 140c to compete in cinebench with a room temp aio cooled 14900k lol. Idk bout ya all, but I like to breathe and multitask, so ln2 cooling for daily driving is a no-go 😅. Ill stick with a 14900k and hopefully soon ks.

Exactly dude the 7800x3d is AMD’s best CPU and the only one that matters on Zen 4. However the CPU it’s self is a one trick pony being great at only games that benefit from 3D v cache. Games and applications that don’t benefit make it slower than the 7700x in performance. It’s not great at multitasking because only 8 cores and 16 threads. The best all a rounder is the i7 14700k and the best you can get is an i9 14900k hands down. The 7950x3d is overpriced hot garbage. It’s a 16 core 32 SMT CPU that cuts its cores in half in order to take advantage of 3D v cache. Along with it having no scheduler to give it consistent performance and use the right CCD cores.

So ddr5 at 6000mt is effectively 96gb/s but fclk of 2000 limits that to 64gb unless you're using dual ccd chips (7800x3d is single ccd). Dipping into weak bandwidth from super fast L3$=AMDip.

The i9 uses far more power and gets hotter. So even if money is no concern, that's something to heavily consider.
Sure Warzone favors Intel and people playing for money would rather choose it, but these CPUs don't show the same results in every competitive game.
Not to throw shade on Jufes and his work, but Warzone isn't even the most played competitive fps. In many others, the brand difference is almost negligible.
If playing warzone/cod, go intel. Everything else, more research needed but the answer isn't as obvious.
CS2 is a game AMD outperforms intel in, in large part due to the high amount of cache. Similar case with valorant and battlefield.
Overwatch and Fortnite don't seem to do worse on either or CPU. I have a 13900K but I see the value in having so much cache. The X3D CPUs are really something else.

Yeah. That's the downside of the Chiplet architecture. Since it has to access memory through the i/o die its gonna have some inherent Latency. The benefit of chiplet architecture is its cheaper to manufacture for AMD. But it only makes sense to us consumers when AMD passes those savings on to us. Like they did when they dropped the 7800X3D to $299 for that short period. Other than that, You are paying for an inferior experience if you care about 1% lows and smoothness of your games.

@@Beltronicsx well many AMD cpus clearly have the poor 1% lows behaviour in situations like this. You can perhaps provide proof that yours does not?

AMD makes 90% margin on manufacturing cost of their consumer chips, and on enterprise it's closer to 99%. They aren't passing savings onto anyone!

@@NUCLEARARMAMENT Exactly. But, The Fanboys will tell you. AMD Saved PC Gaming. AMD actually cares about Gamers. LMFAO. HAHAHHAHA! AMD a Corporation just like all the other ones, They don't care about you. They care about profits and their Shareholders.

I have a 5950X based gaming + work PC myself and 5600H based laptop. It would be to my benefit if AMD CPUs were perfect.

Hi my friend, what about 14700kf setup vs 7800x3d for games like PUBG mainly, and warzone and cs go? i just want more 1% lows and performance in competitive matches, im pubg pro player, with 9000 hours.

iam new to pc but -30 fps in the 1%lows should mean much tho when you still have 200+ fps already

this is true if anyone tried dota 2 on 4k playing custom games where theres alot of cpu involvement it totally starts studdering 30-50 -90 fps my amd 5950x cannot keep up whats so ever. Intel cpu are so much smoother on desktop you can feel it and it shows here.

Is it Worth moving on from 12900k? I have been looking to build something new should I go to 13900k or 14900k? Or stay where I am at and wait for next gen. New to optimizing and pushing my system. love this channel and learning a lot. keep up the great content.

im on a 12900k, went from DDR4 4000c19 super loose timings to 4000C14 super tight and my fps in most games that struggled to get 360 easily hit 500 now seems like faster ram is a better play before new CPU if you dont have good ram yet, worst case you can bring it over to a 14900k or if ur waiting for the 15900k (i personally think the 15900k will obsolete 12-14th gen so im waiting)

You should really do this in pubg as well. A very cpu heavy unreal 4 engine game that has epic fps issues between diff cpu models. Its the most cpu heavy game out there, which gets 10x worse in competition when there are many alive in a small urban space
