    It’s no secret that COD benefits from higher single thread performance, which Intel clearly has had the lead on for quite some time. Considering that the 14900k costs $200 more, I purchased a 7800X3D because I rarely use productivity software and I use my computer mainly for games. The 7800X3D may not be the absolute no-holds-barred best consumer-grade CPU on the market today, but it sure as hell packs a huge punch for gamers like me.

    This is for sure good info, BUT my man.. you gotta remember the price increase + power draw on the intel system. If money and heat is no issue then sure intel is still king. I definitely wouldn't shit on AMD just because it has 10-15% less performance in 1% lows. Not to mention you buy into a dead platform. Then again if you have infinite money, this still doesn't matter.

      They both have their pros and cons. I don't even play Cod anymore so this doesn't pertain to me anyway. He should do some benchmarks on Unreal Engine 5 games with the 13900K / 14900K vs Amd Equivalents. A lot of UE5 games have major issues with 13900k / 14900k cpus. You will see people getting Crashes upon just launching the game, or "out of memory error" or when the game is building the shaders. It is more common than people think. The "fix" is to downclock the cpu / lower the multiplier. On some UE5 games the Ecores on the 13900K / 14900k are causing random performance issues and the "fix" is to disable the ecores or use process lasso. For every game you find an issue with Amd cpu's, the Intel's have the same if not more.

    In my case for running everything in a Mini-ITX computer case, it doesn't help to have better '1% lows' with the 14900K over the 7800X3D when the 14900K needs a nuclear reactor to power the damn thing and need a CPU cooler in the size of an iceberg to cool the 14900K properly while the 7800X3D can be run and cooled way easier.
    How much 'watt' did your overclocked 13900K use in this video?
    If you do use a computer case in the size of a wardrobe, then sure, the 14900K will probably be all fine and be the best to use.

    Intel is always faster and smoother in 1% lows when max tuned, but maybe it's worth mentioning that Ryzen isn't that much worse, especially in non competitive and single player, casual gaming, and with weaker gpus... I’d love to move to intel tbh for my next CPU, but I just can’t justify the CPU eating almost the same power as my GPU. Will have to wait for Intels new chips, to see whether they can get the power draw down to the same or close to the same numbers as ryzen.

    • @Greez1337
      @Greez1337 9 месяцев назад +4

      I used to think the same, until I got and tuned a 13700K and it used less power and cooled easier than my old Tuned 5900X. Stop looking at cinebench and uncapped frames with a 4090 as indicative of power draw for all scenarios. I've never gone beyond 110W CPU gaming load doing 165HZ gaming at 1440p with my 7900XTX. A basic ass 240mm Thermalrite cooler and an AK620 keeps it sub 65C during gaming.
      If you don't care about emulation, or maximizing software compatability, just go for value or to meet your needs though.
