- Loads of crumbs/scraps that you need to use up in quilts? This tutorial will walk you step by step through the process of making great Crumb Fabric for gorgeous quilts!
(FYI: Toward the end of the video there is about a 7-second clip with no sound as I am sharing info on the threads that I'm using for the applique of the Crumb Hexies! My apologies! The threads I am using are Aurifil in the bobbin and an Embroidery (rayon) thread for the applique in the needle.)

I like the doggy snoring.
Based on this video, I now know what I am going do for a block that I am going to cut up to use as a triangle for a few blocks that I created from crumbs. I could never use the block even as an orphan block, but as part of a crumb block, it will serve a beautiful purpose.
Enjoyed your video. Grew up in a family that taught to not waste. Really beautiful way.
Thank you very much for sharing. Please keep your dog near and the snoring. Animals make experiences more joyous.
Bailey LOVES to sew with me. I just feel badly when she gets so loud that my viewers might not be able to hear me! Boston Terriers have the short snout & they definitely snore loudly! 🙂 She is a sweetie and we love her & spoil her!
I use dryer sheets, after they come out of the dryer to use for appliqué and backing for scrap crumb squares/rectangles/ hexies/circles.
I love crumbquilting. Your blocks look fabulous! I can't wait to see how the quilt is going to look
I love seeing how you made fabric out of crumbs. I also like your ideas of cutting the crumb fabric in shapes and apliquing them to background blocks using interfacing. I look forward to seeing how you complete this.
Great video and visual instructions! My puppy Polly starting snoring along with Bailey❤ Thank you
Thank you! So glad you (& Polly) enjoyed the video!! Polly was probably quilting in her dreams too!! Lol! 💕
Neat idea 😊
Loved the video and your doggy. Beautiful idea. Thanks.
Can hardly wait to see the final quilt/wall hanging. Thanks for the video 😊
You are so welcome! Blessings to you!
Love this so much, thanks for sharing. Dog is adorable ❤ I have a Janome, and I love it 🥰
That is going to be so pretty 😊💖
Thanks, Linda! I'm having fun working on it!
Haha. I love to hear a dog snore.
You will love your new Janome. It’s the best machine I’ve ever had!!!
Love this! Thanks.
Beautiful. Thanks for the video.
You are so welcome! Enjoy!
❤❤❤
When cutting the fabric across seams, do they ever unravel? What stitch length do you use to join the scraps to possibly prevent that?
I haven’t had any problems with my seams unraveling. You could certainly use a shorter stitch length to help avoid any issues also! Try a 1.8 or a 2.0 stitch length.
Could you please tell me what kind of sewing machine you are using? Great video.
Thank you!
My new machine is a Janome Horizon Memory Craft 9450 QCP.
I love the machine! It is fabulous for everything from garment sewing to quilting to everything in between! Great machine!
I recommend it!
I have another question. What color is the background fabric? Thank you
The background fabric is a soft (pale) yellow.
Where is your video on how you made the crumb blocks? I don't see it listed in the description, thanks!
Cathy, I made the Crumb fabric (blocks) for this quilt starting at the time stamp 13:47... So, if you scroll over to that point, I take you through how I made all the crumb fabric from which I cut out the blocks (hexies and orange peel shapes) ... Please let me know if this answers your question!! Happy quilting!
@@quiltingwithlori thanks, I was hoping more for how those pieces already made at 13:47 were built, but I'm sure I can find another video, thanks again.
