Here's my MSQC affiliate link: glnk.io/mzmmj/sewthedistance Here's my blog for this one: www.sewthedistance.com/blog/just-one-layer-cake-crazy-quilt Just was made aware that my video sequencing at the end is out of order! Sorry about that! I did not trim the quilt before quilting it. I placed the voiceover and the video in the wrong place! Eek!
Congrats on your partnership with MSQC! If you ask me (and no one did lol) they are the lucky ones to have you. Your enthusiasm and excitement is something they are blessed to have. Please don’t loose your creativity and avidity for sewing and quilting; it is such a breath of fresh air. I would hate to see them put a bunch of parameters around in sending you items you have to work with or patterns you have to use. I hope we will still see your own creative patterns here in the channel. We all absolutely love watching you and now you’ll have the even broader audience that deserves you! ❤😊👍🏼
So sorry! I guess I spelled Weft wrong, too! I wish I could fix both, but the editing tool on RUclips (post-publish) won't allow me even add text. Sigh. Oh well. Live and learn! And I must have watched that video 10 times before uploading it. Can't believe I missed that!
Oh, thank you so much, @ambermyers4256 ! You are so sweet! They are wonderful to work with! I get a budget and then I submit a proposal, so I get to keep my creative freedom, which I like! It is also a nice way to make a little money to help support my channel. So far it has been great! Thanks again for your kind words. It means a lot. 🥰
I’m glad Missouri star thinks you’re as great as we do and you have teamed with them. What a great team. Thanks for everything you do. I think you should call it scrappiness as happiness.
Such fun! If you want to go completely scrappy - and especially if accumulating pieces over time: put together a storage box with dividers based on the template pieces. When you have 20 or 30 or so of each, you're ready to start stitching.
I bought a quilt kit from the Quilted Twins in Dade City Florida. It's name is Crazy for Florida. Very much like this but has 8 or 9 pieces. And does anyone know if they carry templates for that many pieces? 06
I love it when you say there are no quilt police and what works for me! I tend to want everything perfect which never works out to be. That fact makes me overwhelmed and depressed which is not what quilting is meant to be!
Yay! So glad this is a bit freeing for you! I completely understand as I am married so someone like this. My husband is a woodworker and is the exact same way. In fact, he helped me line up the backing for this quilt and when I said, "Close enough!," he was upset that I didn't take out the seam and try again. The upside to being like this is that I am sure your work is impeccable! There's something to be said about that, too! ❤️
If you've yet to name this quilt, Crazy Lazy Summertime or Crazy Summer Nights might be fun. What name did you finally call the quilt finally? Love this quilt, your videos and very much appreciated your quilting and sewing style. You are amazing.
These are great names! I actually haven't named it yet. I am still trying to decide! I am planning on making a bunch of labels this weekend, so I have to figure it out. Of course, I can also always change the label, right? Thank you for suggestions!
It would be cute to make all the center stars you showed us in all the same fabric and maybe add sashing too. The border always adds so much to a quilt.
Love the quilt Kris, but especially love watching you. Your tips and explanations are great and your enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you for sharing your love of quilting with us. Always an interesting time and also come away happy and sometimes a little wiser.
Kris you did a fantastic job with your teaching this quilt! You always do. Your happiness is always present. Thank you for bringing joy to my day. Blessings. See you on line again soon.
This is the first time I’ve seen anyone trim the batting and backing off before quilting. I’m in awe. Love this quilt! I’d considered the templates in the past but now they are going on my Wish List!
I am so sorry about that! I placed it in the wrong order! I quilted before I trimmed. 😳 Whoops! So glad you love this one! ❤️ Thank you for watching and mentioning this!
I wish I could go in and "fix" it, but post-publishing editing is limited and I can't. My biggest concern is messing up new quilters! I hope that doesn't happen.
I love hearing that you partnered with Missouri Star Quilt Company. I have been following them for years. I also am looking forward to more of your videos.
Thank you! This would make a great scrappy quilt, for sure! The wall hanging is made from an AccuQuilt die. Here's a link to it: www.accuquilt.com/go-owl.html Hope this helps!
Awesome. I love the navy border. Is t it amazing how many colors blend together regardless of colors. Glad you are with Missouri Star . you all are amazing and fun and just see without stress.
You generate energy! My brain is /was having a moment of insanity. The method is a good change for me. I am glad to see forward thinking about making an adjustment to join the pieces differently than actual instructions. I was able to keep up with you the whole time. I was afraid I had misunderstood previous video’s about the trimming of the edges. I’m clear now, thanks. I enjoyed every minute of this class.
Hi Kris - loved your tips for these templates. They are great fun. Your organizational tips are excellent and I love the idea of making templates from dollar store cutting mats - genius! I've made a couple of these and included a video on my channel on how to use yardage rather than precuts. And to look at the template shapes to pick a star or pinwheel design. The star video (called Puzzle Quilt) is up now, and the pinwheel is coming soon.
Oh no! Who's knocking on the door? It's the quilt police! Go away! Kris said I could make it my way. So there. Fun quilt Kris. Thank you! If border added, I like the dark flower fabric the best. Marion in Oregon.
Love the quilt. I've been doing so many fall color quilts so seeing the bright, cheerful colors of this quilt has made me decide I've got to get out of the darker colors for a while. Watching your enthusiasm and love of quilting makes me very happy. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh, wow! My pleasure! I am so happy you love this and it has inspired you! I am drawn to darker colors, too, but I am trying to be more courageous with color. This quilt makes me so happy just by looking at it! Glad you like it, too! Thank you for your kind words! You are so sweet!
I love your quilt. Wasn’t loving the polka dot binding suggestion on your design wall but that’s because I’m still learning how to put design together in my head. I was thinking that it looked too busy. Well can I tell you that seeing your finished product brought it all together for me. I need to learn to trust the process. How gorgeous it turned out with the polka dot binding. I absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing this project. I feel like I learned so much ❤
Hi! You are both right! I am so sorry about this. The video is out of order. I recorded the clips at different times as I was working through the making of this one and when I dropped them into the editing software, I put them out of sequence. Unfortunately, I can't fix it now that it's up. 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you so much for mentioning this and for your kind words. ❤️
For further variety, for half of your total number of blocks, you could flip all of the templates over (with the letters facing down against the fabric) before cutting. (Can always put a masking tape spot with the appropriate letter on the reverse side to stay organized). Then, after sewing all the mirror-reverse blocks, you'd have 8 different shape orientation layouts instead of the original 4 (each orientation achieved by rotating the block 90 degrees, 180, 270, etc). A truly glorious mix! Loved this video! Thanks for so many tips!!! 🥰
I love the no border look. I frequently just do the binding and am done with it. I hate using templates so won’t be trying this one but, nice video. I always learn something new when I watch your videos and I’ve been quilting for 24 years.
Oh, thank you so much! I understand about the templates. I have been using borders less and less. I am with you--the binding often is enough to frame it. So happy this video is helpful, too! Thank you for watching and for your kind words. 🥰
That's crazy gorgeous! I actually prefer the version without sashing; it's just so exuberantly chaotic, but then I do like color chaos 😉. Thank you for sharing your whole process. A couple observations: First, the crosswise grain is called weft, not waft. And second, wavy borders will make life very difficult for your longarmer 😢, so unless you'll be tying your quilt, it really is best to take the necessary steps (touched on in this video) to get your quilt borders on so they will lay flat, quilt police or no.
Thanks so much! We agree! ❤️ Thanks so much for watching. I did make a few mistakes (waft typo and the quilting/trimming sequencing which was an editing error). It happens, right? Thank you so much for watching and your feedback. ❤️
I loved your video. I agree with you to cut an alongside the salvage instead of salvage to salvage. I’ve had such great reports on not bending not stretching the edges. Continue II loved your video. I agree with you to cut a alongside the salvage instead of salvage to salvage. I’ve had such great reports on not bending not stretching the edges continue I enjoy your joyful responses on your entire project. It was beautiful.
Kris, Just watched you for the first time, WOW! Love your presentation and the finished quilt is wonderful. Missouri Star Quilt Company picked a winner. Thank you, letting mistake's be ok. I'll be back. Sandy
Wow! Look at you go! In fact, your process is very close to mine. I haven't used the spray but after watching this, I think I should give it a shot. I also pin and baste! The navy dots was an inspired choice for this quilt binding. Crazy quilts can be super busy to the eye and the navy dots sort of anchors and contains the crazy. Love it! Have you ever done feather stitching embroidery on the seams? I see this on vintage crazy quilts and I would like to try it on one of my old quilt tops. Thank you again, Kris, fir the inspiring video.
You are so welcome! So happy you love this! I am thrilled I am not the only one who does both. LOL! I know it seems crazy, but I like my quilts to be flat. Sounds like you do, too! 😀 I have used a feather stitch! So funny you mentioned that! I thought about using tha stitch on this one, but I thought it would get lost since the fabric is so busy. I may make another with less crazy fabric and do that and some embroidery. I really love this template set. Thanks so much for watching and sharing! 🥰
Kris, love your approach to designing and adapting this quilt! Agree with your five-at-a-time method to get a consistent variation of fabrics. Blue is such a unifying color! Perfect pattern for a layer cake *and* for using up older stash fabrics cut into layer cake size. Mixing the two adds some spice to scrappy blocks. ❤
I had to look them up! Thank you so much! I learned this technique from my grandmother 30 years ago. Everything old is new again, right? Thank you so much for watching and sharing! I am sure your jacket is amazing! ❤️🥰❤️
Thank you so much! I am thrilled that you love this! Oh, good idea! I don't have the crazy quilt templates for my AccuQuilt yet! I may have to get them! Thanks for the tip!
LOVE that quilt. I have that ruler - I have to use it now! Thanks for the info. I am with you on the navy blue with white polka dot binding - looks great! April
It's beautiful! I love the bright colors! I think I prefer the sashing between the blocks, and that navy was perfect! But you made a good choice using it as binding. So nice. I love it!😊
Thank you so much! I love the sashing, too, but I wanted to stay true to the "just one layer cake" quilt. I may have to make another one! LOL! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words!
Your measurements book was written in part my Harriet Hargrave..She was an amazing quilter and author. I took lessons with Harriet before she retired to Missouri and loved ever minute. My complement to you is I enjoyed you instruction..I only discovered you during Jenny's Christmas Box. I have saved your site and will enjoy you in the future , I know. I have had the crazy quilt templates for some time and did not tackle..You inspired me.
Oh wow! Thank you so much! I am thrilled that you like my videos and the instructions! I didn't realize it is written, in part, by her! It is wonderful you got to take lessons from her. Thank you so much for pointing that out! ❤️
That came out really nice. I just got that layer cake in the mail and have been looking for the perfect pattern. I might have to give this a go. I absolutely adore this fabric line.
Thank you so much! YAY! I love when that happens! It is a fun quilt to make! If you have any questions as you start making it, please let me know. Happy to help!
Congratulations on becoming an MSQC affiliate! And thank you for sharing the discount link with us! When you have a minute, could you please explain when the discount can be used at MSQC? (i.e., Does it not work on sale items? Can we use it as often as we want or only once? etc.) Again, many thanks!
Thank you so much! Great questions! The discount changes monthly, and I post that month's "special" on my Facebook page. For example, this month (April 2024), the discount is 20% off purchases of $50 or more. Simply click on my link and then go shopping. I hope this helps.
OH! I have that template...AND a super old old Layer Cake from a Tuesday Morning Store, that has been closed since 2018...and the L.Cake is from years before that as well! Excited to try out this pattern! Thanks!
Ohhhh, I miss Tuesday Morning Store! We used to live in New England and it was the best place to get precuts! Best kept secret! Thank you for this reminder! So glad you are going to make one! It is fun! You are so welcome. Thank you for watching and sharing! Great memories. ❤️
You are so welcome! Thank you so much! I liked the sashing too, and I also agree, but since I promised a One Layer Cake quilt video, I didn't want to do that and go back on my promise. I had a lot of discussions with friends if it is still a one layer cake quilt if you add sashing. I am still not sure, so I decided to error on the safe side. So glad you love this!
Call it Playing Crazy with Chris or Kris ( oops lol) It's so funky! 💖 Props for hand basting the edges down. Q: when you hand stitch the binding down on the back what thread do you use? If sewing thread , double? Ty for sharing your adventures it was really enjoyable .🩷☘️🍁
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching and for your kind words! 🥰 Oh, I love that name! Perfect! Great questions! I use a single strand of cotton thread. I match the thread to the backing not to the binding. I find it blends in better. I know many people who double it, however. That would work, too. I hope this helps!
My second time viewing. I saved it this time why I didn’t before I thought I would remember it. 😢 Now I will have it when I am ready to start a new project. I just want to say thanks you. I love your videos. You did a great job start to finish showing each step not just to quilt top finish but actual quilt finish, how you laid the backing down ,batting next and the trimming edges and squaring up even your basting together. It was fantastic to watch. Have you ever tried gluing your binding instead of clips. When I bind I sew from back. Fold to front and glue down. I usually use a print backing so I can sew on the front as I can control how my stitching looks just a little finicky thing on my part. I also loved your simple quilting. I am going to try it on my machine.
Such a happy quilt! The sashing really sets off the blocks, but I also love the way the quilt looks with the all over scramble. Your tutorial triggered my interest in the ruler , so I ordered it using your link and I’m ready to try my own version. Wish me luck!
I learned a valuable lesson today. I wanted to use the kite block shapes as the “star” legs in my block. I was going to use patterned fabric for the rest of the pieces and a solid for the kites. I realized after doing my first round of blocks that using a directional fabric can be an issue. I changed directions and fussy cut those kite pieces so that they would work in my design. I just cut it on folded fabric so I got mirror images. Love your excitement and videos!!!
🤣 I love it! We are really filling up that Bingo board! I thought about making one for one of my freebies for my website newsletter! LOL! Thanks for the laugh! So glad you love this video! It was a fun one to make!
GREAT JOB, Kris!!! I love your choice of fabric for the border. Now I have to go order those rulers from MS Quilt. Thank you for a fantastic tutorial! Have a wonderful rest of your week.
Love your quilt. I have made a quilt with these templates but you did give me some great tips on the cutting. All in all my group of ladies that I quilt with loved my quilt and they all have ordered the templates. This was such a fun video to watch-thank you so much and I love how you get so excited.
Oh, wow! Yay! This is awesome! Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching my video! I love those templates. Can't wait to make some more things with them. 🥰
Loved this I have the templates and the tutorial showing how to use was helpful. I make borders the same as you do but I take a tip I got from Anita Grossman Soloman by ironing batting tape on the quilt edge this helps because both edges work together. I have even had longarmers praise me about the straightness of the edges.
I bought the template set years ago and never used it. THANK YOU for inspiring me to actually make it! I thoroughly enjoyed your step by step video. I would name it "Still crazy" (after all these years). Lyrics from a song from years ago.
YAY! You are so welcome! Thank you for watching and sharing! I love that this has inspired you. That's what it is all about! ❤️ Oh! YESSS! So funny you say that! I usually name my quilts after songs! Still Crazy is perfect! Thank you!
❤❤ Loved seeing you make this quilt. I have all 3 sets of these templates. There are also accompanying booklets for each set of the templates that show the different ways the templates can be used to make different quilts. The notches make everything fit. I would love to see videos on some of the variations. Thank you.
Yay! Love that you love this video! Thank you for your kind words! Great ideas! Thank you! Let me see how I can do that! I do love these templates and I want to get some of the other crazy quilt sets. 🥰
Thank you! Made this quilt with navy sashing and its beautiful. Gonna add some embroidery as part of the quilting to make it unique to hand down. Thanks again and keep it up.
YAY! So glad you made this! I would love to see pictures! You can email them to me at sewthedistance@gmail.com if you'd like (You don't have to. 🤗 Only if you want to.) Love the idea of adding embroidery! Thanks so much for sharing that idea and for watching my videos!
Crazy Crochet would be a good name! I have a couple of pieces of this yardage. I think it is really pretty! Thank you for taking us on this journey! A wonderful trip! Love your quilt!
Congrats on your new association with MSQC! I love your quilt - to me, it looks very retro - the fabric is really gorgeous. I have this template set and it's really fun to use. I put black sashing between my blocks and used bright solids and it came out like stained glass.
Beautiful. I was just looking at this very fabric at MSQC, & I have the crazy quilt templates. The backing fabric makes it Extra wonderful. Thanks for this fun video.⚘️
I know exactly what you mean about elevating a quilt at each stage. It improves as you go along but my favourite part is finishing the binding not because it’s the end of the quilt but because suddenly it looks perfect 😊
Yes! We think alike! It just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? They slowly come to life. It is like magic. Thank you so much for watching and sharing! 🥰
That is cute. And yes, the blue poke-a-dot binding is perfect. A lot of cute names for the quilt, but I guess I'm not that creative. I would simply have called it "My Crazy 8's quilt".
I loved this video. The fabric is beautiful. The crazy templates look great fun. I took on board all your tips and tricks. I need all I can learn. haha. The first thing I thought of when you said you are putting the name of the quilt on it is Razzle Dazzle. Don't ask me but I would call a quilt like that Razzle Dazzle. Thanks for this video Kris.
Love love love how your crazy quilt turned out! I especially love your cutting tips and the templates you made so you don’t have to measure each time! So smart! I’m not creative with names so I have no good suggestions… the front porch quilt came to mind but that’s so long! lol
You are so welcome! Happy to help! ❤️ So happy you loved the quilting. I was going to follow the crazy quilt seams, but this just made a bit more sense since it is a busy quilt. I am glad you like it!
Beautiful, bright quilt. Sometimes if there is more than 1/2" variation in my top measurements, I'll take a seam up a little to even it up before I put the borders on. That way I don't get puckers on the longarm.
I am so glad I found this video. I ordered the kit from TEMU and my pieces are a little wonky. I will be going to the dollar store and picking up some of them tomorrow and then I will try again! Thanks so much!
I have a set of those crazy eight templates never used them, but I might have changed my mind now that I have seen your quilt. That blue polka dot really looks great and the fabric on the back is really nice. I will probably use sashing between the blocks, Kris thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome! My pleasure! Oh, I love that this is inspired you. I love the dots, too. I may need to make another and use it. I was so conflicted because I wanted to challenge myself to make this with just one layer cake, but I also loved the dots. 😀 Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
Start to finish, I learned so many great tips throughout your video! I've been wanting to try this template but didn't know if the piecing would be too fussy. Can't wait to see what you decide for the label. Florarama is what it screams to me. Such a fun print set. Thank you!

Oh, wow! My pleasure! I am so happy you love this and it has inspired you! I am drawn to darker colors, too, but I am trying to be more courageous with color. This quilt makes me so happy just by looking at it! Glad you like it, too! Thank you for your kind words! You are so sweet!
I prefer muted colors in the quilts I make for myself, but that quilt is super fun & happy! What a fun template set, too.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun to make!
I would definitely need the sashed version. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure! ❤️
I understand that! Thank you so much for watching!
I feel like I learned so much ❤
Hi, thanks for all the info. I was taught to not cut the batting (Square it up) until you quilt it as it will get "Wonky" Love the quilt, looks great.
Yes, I was taught the same thing - square up the quilt after quilting!
Hi! You are both right! I am so sorry about this. The video is out of order. I recorded the clips at different times as I was working through the making of this one and when I dropped them into the editing software, I put them out of sequence. Unfortunately, I can't fix it now that it's up. 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you so much for mentioning this and for your kind words.
My pleasure! Thanks for the great idea!
That is a beautiful quilt! Love it. Thanks for the tute!
You are so welcome! Glad you like it! Thank you for watching. ❤️
Patches...great fun quilt❤
Oh, I love that! Thank you!
Thank you so much! Thank you so much for watching and for sharing this information about cutting borders. I feel like this is rarely discussed. ❤️
You’re adorable. I love your energy.super cute quilt! I have the crazy eight templates and never used them. Thanks for the video
You are so welcome! ❤️
You are so sweet! Thank you for watching and for your kind words! ❤️
I'm inspired to tackle my closet! Thank you. Yes, I adore your hair!
Yay! So happy you are going to make this!
Thank you about my hair, too!
Kris, Just watched you for the first time, WOW! Love your presentation and the finished quilt is wonderful. Missouri Star Quilt Company picked a winner.
Thank you, letting mistake's be ok.
I'll be back.
Sandy
Oh, thank you! You are so sweet! ❤️ So happy you love my videos and are coming back to see more! ❤️❤️❤️
You are so cute!! I enjoyed this video so much!! Can’t wait to make one like this myself! ❤
Aww! Thank you so much!! 🥰
Love MSQC! I personally like the sashing. And would use the same fabric for the border.
It is nice, isn't it? I may have to make another! LOL! Thank you so much for watching!
I have used a feather stitch! So funny you mentioned that! I thought about using tha stitch on this one, but I thought it would get lost since the fabric is so busy. I may make another with less crazy fabric and do that and some embroidery. I really love this template set.
Thanks so much for watching and sharing! 🥰
omg please make a scrappy version of this!!! gorgeous
That would be so much fun!! 🤩 Thank you! 😍
Thank you so much! So glad you like it! It is a fun one. I want to get more of this fabric. I just love it!
That is similar to a BUGGY BARN quilt!! I’ve also make a jacket with this same way of mixing up the😊. Cute!
I had to look them up! Thank you so much! I learned this technique from my grandmother 30 years ago. Everything old is new again, right? Thank you so much for watching and sharing! I am sure your jacket is amazing! ❤️🥰❤️
I love buggy Barn!!!
I have a crazy quilt block for my Accuquilt cutter and love it. So easy. I enjoyed watching your video and those fabrics are so fun!
April
Hi April! Thank you so much! You can’t go wrong with Creative Grid rulers! Love them. So glad you like this. Thanks for watching. ❤️
I love your enthusiasm! Your channel is one of my favorites.
Oh, thank you so much! 🥰
I just cut my border in strips across the bias.I just cut at least 4 and it goes together ,no problem!
Thank you for sharing! ❤️
@@SewtheDistance It does, thank you!
Hi Kris. I'm so glad I found you. You explain everything so well that even I can understand. That is so kewl that you partner with MSQC
Yay! So happy this is helpful!
Thank you so much! It is a great company to work with, for sure. They have been amazing!
Entertaining as well as educational. You rock, 🇦🇺❤️
Thank you so much! 🥰 You are so sweet!
Thanks Kris. Great tip on TBE templates and Borders. I did like the sashin vesion. It made the blocks stand out and not so busy.
Oh, I love that name!
YAY! So glad this inspired you! It is a fun one, for sure. It makes me happy just looking at it. Thank you so much for watching and sharing! 🥰
I love how this turned out and your material choice. It is beautiful.
Thank you so much! 🥰
Loved the navy sashing option! This is going to be such a fun porch quilt! The backing is great too.
Thank you! I think so, too! Now if spring could just hurry up and get here! LOL!
Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
Wonderful! Glad you were able to fussy cut them!
So happy you love my videos! Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
Love this video, Kris! I’m adding “and wonderful” to our Sew the Distance bingo card. One of these days, I’m actually going to make one!
🤣 I love it! We are really filling up that Bingo board! I thought about making one for one of my freebies for my website newsletter! LOL! Thanks for the laugh!
So glad you love this video! It was a fun one to make!
Such a fun quilt! I hope the templates will be on sale at some point.
Thank you! Oh, I hope so, too. They are great!
Crazy Daze - that would be my suggestion. Great video - nice hack for the cutting of the blocks. Thanks so much.
My pleasure! Happy you like this and the hack!
LOVE the name! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching. ❤️
GREAT JOB, Kris!!! I love your choice of fabric for the border. Now I have to go order those rulers from MS Quilt. Thank you for a fantastic tutorial! Have a wonderful rest of your week.
Yay! Thank you SO much! You are so sweet! Glad you love it and are going to make one! They are a lot of fun!
That's a wonderful idea! Thank you so much! I never thought to do that!
Oh!
Love the blue poka dot
Isn't it great? Love it, too!
I'm trying this, lol, and I LOVE your gleeful enthusiasm!! Didn't hear the name you gave it, so I've called it "Sew Craziness ". 💜💙💛🧡💚
Thank you so much! Great name! I haven't named it yet and am looking for suggestions! ❤️
Thanks Kris luv listening to you and some great tips the quilt turned out beautiful and cheerful
Yay! So glad this is helpful!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Crazy Crochet would be a good name! I have a couple of pieces of this yardage. I think it is really pretty! Thank you for taking us on this journey! A wonderful trip! Love your quilt!
Ohhh! Love that name! Thank you!
Isn't it a great fabric line? So much fun!
Your quilt is adorable! Thanks Kris!
You are so welcome! Thank you! So glad you like it!
Congrats on your new association with MSQC! I love your quilt - to me, it looks very retro - the fabric is really gorgeous. I have this template set and it's really fun to use. I put black sashing between my blocks and used bright solids and it came out like stained glass.
Thank you so much! i am thrilled to be partnered with them! They have been amazing to work with, too.
LOVE that idea! That's a great idea! Thank you!
I just love your excitement! The quilt is crazy love for sure!
Oh! I love this! Perfect name for this quilt!
I’m glad my excitement shines through in the video. Thanks so much for watching and sharing! 🥰
Beautiful. I was just looking at this very fabric at MSQC, & I have the crazy quilt templates.
The backing fabric makes it Extra wonderful. Thanks for this fun video.⚘️
Thank you so much!
Yay! So glad you like it! It was a fun one to make.
Love how it turned out. It's going to look great on your porch this summer. Thanks for sharing another great tutorial with us!!
You are so welcome! I love this one so much! It turned out better than I expected. Thank you for watching and for being so sweet!
Your welcome. I enjoy and look forward to your tutorials!!
@@SewtheDistance
Thank you! 🥰
what a happy quilt. thank you for your very clear explanation of the construction.
You are so welcome! That's a great way to describe it! It just sings!
That is cute. And yes, the blue poke-a-dot binding is perfect. A lot of cute names for the quilt, but I guess I'm not that creative. I would simply have called it "My Crazy 8's quilt".
Thank you so much! Love that name, too!
Fun, fun, fun! Love the other commenter’s scrappy idea
Yay! Thank you! Love that, too! It would make a great scrappy quilt!
You are so welcome! OHHHH! I love that name! That's perfect! Thank you! So glad you like this video, too!
Love love love how your crazy quilt turned out! I especially love your cutting tips and the templates you made so you don’t have to measure each time! So smart!
I’m not creative with names so I have no good suggestions… the front porch quilt came to mind but that’s so long! lol
That's a great name! Thanks so much, Fallon! Glad you love this! And thanks for all the behind-the-scenes support on this one! 😀
Kris is a pro! I enjoy listening to her. She gives understandable explanations. Beautiful crazy quilt😊
Oh thank you so much! You are the sweetest! This is Kris, by the way. I am a one-woman show. 🥰
Thanks and best wishes ❤❤
Thank you! You, too! 🥰
Thank you, I’m going to be cutting my borders differently. It makes since the way you explained it. Love the quilting that you did 👍🏻👍🏻 ❤️
You are so welcome! Happy to help! ❤️
So happy you loved the quilting.
Thank you so much! Glad you like this!
Wonderful tip! Thank you! ❤️
♥️♥️♥️ the quilt, it looks like a reversible quilt
It really does, doesn't it? I love how it turned out! 🥰
I am so glad I found this video. I ordered the kit from TEMU and my pieces are a little wonky. I will be going to the dollar store and picking up some of them tomorrow and then I will try again! Thanks so much!
Good luck. Let me know how it goes. 😊
Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
I love this video, as always Kris your amazing and a wonderful teacher🥰🥰 thank you
You are so welcome! YOU are so sweet! Thank you for the love! ❤️
When I made a quilt with these templates, I didn’t need to trim up any of my blocks. Miraculously they all came out the same size. I was amazed.
That is awesome! I think it was probably me. 🤣 But the nice thing is that you can trim them up, right? 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Absolutely! There’s no such thing as a deal breaker in quilting. You can always make something work
Great point!
Start to finish, I learned so many great tips throughout your video! I've been wanting to try this template but didn't know if the piecing would be too fussy. Can't wait to see what you decide for the label. Florarama is what it screams to me. Such a fun print set. Thank you!
Yay! So glad you like this video and learned from it! This makes me so happy! 😍
Florarama! Yessss! I love this name! Thank you!
I think you do such a great job with your tutorials! Such fun to watch!
Thank you! So glad you like them! 🤩 Thank you for watching!
Gorgeous quilt! I love, love, LOVE the navy binding!
Thank you! That navy really does bring it together! I am in love. Such wonderful fabrics!
