Can’t believe you ate one of those swamp rats! We got 10 cents a piece for those in the willamette valley of Oregon when I was a kid! Farmers hated them. Great bow and .22 practice. Since a kid I have had peanut butter and syrup on pancakes French toast and waffles! Great video!
I watched y'all catch frogs yesterday during the storm here in East TX. No power, rain banging on the roof, coal oil lamp. It was like I was in the boat with ya.
Just found y'alls channel and I love it. i grew up in Donner Louisiana and did a crapload of fishing in Lake Verret. I miss those old days. We used to fish some of the old oilfield canals that we called the willow tree and the crackhead. Beatlespins for Socalet and catch some perch to cut up and throw out jug lines for catfish....loved it and miss it dearly.
Butter and syrup on my french toast. My dad and I used to trap. We would keep a few nutrias that were still alive in the trap. We used to smother them down just like a rabbit, and eat that with white beans. We also made nutria sausage mixed with pork fat. That sausage was delicious. Going back and watching older videos til Sunday. Love you guys.

I said I need to go fishing and it has to be some place warm.... Never gave a thought of your neck of the woods. But you answered my questions, bass was number 1 on my list. Is there public fishing around there. What is the normal winter like down there.. Here in PA. we got snow last night.... so I am jealous of your conditions I have to go and plow snow now. Keep warm.
Not too much normal about our weather. Lately it's been in the upper 30s in the morning and 40s and 50s during the day which isn't too bad. Still cold for us but bearable. There are plenty of public places to fish. Everywhere I go is fair game to anyone. Appreciate it buddy! 🎣🎣🎣🍻
Hey Kieth, up here in Ontario Canada we call nutras muskrats. I have never eaten one but I might correct that. I have eaten groundhog and it is mighty tasty so I suspect it might be a similar rodent. 29:21

Was just thinking, from your dock, you could run a pretty long hook line to left and another to right, still do your jugs out front. Easy little boat maneuver to run lines tied to your neighbors dock, like when/if they not there? More hooks = more looks.
We don't have those in Fla (yet)... would really apptreciate a video on how to clean -n- cook one... they look like a relative of a muskrat... tell us how they taste. 👍🥰🎣😊
We will be cooking the nutria in the next video. I clean them just like a rabbit. The taste of the meat is mild. Not a gamey taste. Smothered down or in a stew is the way I like it best.
I shot a bunch of nutria at a duck camp a few weeks ago and kept the hind legs for a sauce piquant. I tried it last year and meat was delicious. That fire looks inviting ....need to put some cane syrup on French toast
Sauce piquant sounds pretty dang good! The meat is very good. I've had French toast with cane syrup and it was delicious. My granny use to fix my French toast with peanut butter and powder sugar. It's my favorite way to eat it and it brings back all the great memories of her. Thanks buddy! 🎣
The cat fishers iver her have foynd that original pan cooking spray the cat fish loves it . Shad it the best for trot line and rod and reel fishing . Get tara some cheap dog food to bait the area around the camp and cotton seed cake in a burlap sack and a brick to hold it down bait your area sure helps

Muskrats are a little smaller than Nutria but look very similar. I'm sure they taste just as good.
