Great to see an old school style vid. Xander in wet weather, effortlessly building camp, getting the fire going, eating enough to feed an army! Perfect 30 mins of relaxation, thank you Xander
@@verlene10 ever heard about vibes, mood and sympathies? sometimes more important than one, specific talent or impression. It's his allover-vibe. His humor and the usp: not taking himself so seriously like so many other wildcampers, having a stoic look on their face "heeeey, i'm a viking, i can solve everything". He just seems to stumble out there, be a silly lil likeable boy but managing to do everything just perfectly, maybe a bit dreamy, but that's exactly the keypoint. Do things good, but don't become a cocky, serious dude. That's what he delivers, that vibe. Competence, freedome, but also a bit of slackyness and humor. And: a very open, communicative and emotional guy. I appreciate this and I think that's what others like about him aswell.
@@verlene10 I've watched loads of "camping" videos. Xander has a unique niche in that he's legit funny, good at what he does, but also doesn't take himself seriously. That's a rare combo in these vids. Additionally, the editing is actually really well done.
I’ve watched this video like a million times and that’s because I really enjoy the rain. Rain brings me peace and tranquility. Keep up the great work 😊
I am an addictions counselor (now called substance use disorder instead of addiction). I am just totally impressed with your recovery. I'm so glad you are sober, you seem like a wonderful human and so deserve to have a good life. You are inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
Im new to this channel and am just learning what you went through... im yet to start recovery but its something i need to do.. im 43 this year and times running out so im hoping i can make the change but will see.. Respect mate!
I don't know what's more impressive - eating all that food, enduring the rain, or eating in the morning after all that food. I love your resilience to the rain, the love of food, and your love of nature. Thank-you !!!!! 🙂
Hi Xander. I watch your videos all the time. I almost always try to hit the like button, and I rarely post a comment, but I just want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoy your videos and your brothers! I started watching you when you first started your channel and were young in your sobriety journey. It has been such a pleasure and a joy to watch you heal, blossom and thrive! You are an inspiration. I love your humor you and your brother together just crack me up. I know how hard these amazing videos are, the editing, all of it and I just want you to know how much I appreciate it. I’m always rooting for you, thank you for everything.❤
Fascinating outdoor adventure in the rain as close to nature as you can get.I can almost feel the freedom and serenity of it .Nothing like the sound of rain on canvass when your inside in the dry.Well done, thankyou.
Good Lad. Good appetite. Wish I could eat like you. 2 wks., short of 14 months sober. Lost 64 lbs. Thanks for the inspiration to lead a healthier lifestyle. Thanks for sharing.
Binding the large stick to the tree and twisting it upwards, securing it with rope as a wood cutting station impressed me a lot. I'm not sure if its a standard technique but I'm pretty impressed even though its a simple concept.
Is it just me or his videos hit different when you're about to sleep? The sounds of the nature are just mesmerizing. God's creation is Perfect!! Xander, thank you for your content because we know you put a lot of work and effort to bring this for us. May God bless you and gives you the strength you need to keep on going everyday! Also, Cooking skills are just amazing
Xander you are hard core 100% - building a good fireplace in the middle of hard rain. I don't know why but your outdoor videos are therapy for me. Taming the elements single handedly with your outdoor skills (not to mention shooting a video) is always inspirational. Thanks for doing what you do and hope you hit 1 million subscribers soon.
I never knew I liked camping until I started watching your video’s and tried it myself. I feel financially abused by all the gear that I have bought 😂 now I go camping or hiking almost every weekend and it heals something inside of me ❤ Thank you!
I can't even begin to tell you how much your videos make my day. Can't wait until the next one and canoe camping to begin. You're truly a gem. Much love from Oregon.
Xander, I’ve got to say man. Your camera work is extremely impressive, some of these shots are insane and absolutely amazing to watch. Thank you for your dedication to detail on these videos, and may many more come in the future.
Oh man this video gave me the camping bug for the year! Always a treat watching your adventures! There is always something so satisfying about setting up camp and getting that fire going! Thanks Xander!
Was never fan of those "glamping" videos, so everytime I want to see some real action, old school building your tent, cooking your food camping in the woods video, you are my go to. Keep delivering, Xander. 👍
That log fixing trick to make sawing the wood easier just completely blew my mind! So simple! I now know the contraptions I've built so far have been completely pointless and way too time consuming hahaha. Appreciated! :D
Eating a hot meal from a wood fire after a long hike is an unforgettable experience. Your body and senses will be grateful for the replenishment. I was fortunate enough to enjoy two freshly caught brook trout from a lake during the Summer of 1974, in the Desolation Wilderness in California's Sierra Nevada mountains cooked over a white fir fire.
Hello. It's very beautiful here, it's very cold but you can still camp and cook. That's amazing. Wishing you happiness and health for your new trips ❤🎉❤🎉🎉🎉
When the wood is mostly wet everywhere, I like to stack the thicker logs up into a square shape kind of like a chimney and then start a fire in the middle with brush and smaller stick. That creates a strong and constant draft which helps the fire burn with more vigor while drying the larger pieces out at the same time.
Ive spent enough training in the rain as a scout in the army to fear the rain and instantly get flashbacks of having to attempt to sleep in a hurricane with no tent or cover haha I have no idea how people do this for fun
As a chef it pains me see that board not flipped after dealing with red meat and poultry😅 love the video love the fajitas but always make sure to keep ontop of that cross contamination 🙏Hate to see you get sick after a delicious meal
I was looking through the comments for this exact thing! Handling any type of meat, especially chicken on the same cutting board as vegetables is a big no-no. Not seen Xander mention it, but I hope he has some type of wet wipes or Antibac for his hands too!
A Fellow Ontarian , I miss going north , camping , canoeing being out in the wilderness . I'm jealous and envious and just too old and broken to do it anymore.I guess i just live through you now. All the best bud

By the looks of things when Xander goes into the woods the Bears hide their food. This man is ravenous 🫣

Dear god, maybe in my 20's in the Army I could eat so much, but 40+ years later and that amount of food would last me DAYS! Looked delicious!

10 fajitas for sure

The fajitas 🎉
