They are good. They are so expensive this year because of the bad drought last year. In my part of the state, they aren’t caught in the wild like this. They trap them in flooded unused rice fields.
Everytime we vacation in LA. we have to go to Morgan city and visit Suzies so we can gorge on the shrimp and daddys !!! We love the rural area !!!! We are from Illinois so it's a whole nother world !!!!!!! Love watching the cook in the outdoor kitchen all traditional ! Great video !!!
Bravo what an awesome, informative Red Swamp Crayfish catching adventure! Watching this awesome outstanding video makes me feel like I am right there with y'all! The Louisiana Red Swamp Crayfish is one of the most widely transplanted and proliferated species of Freshwater Crayfish which is now found in many parts outside of it's native range in the southeast USA to all over the world from North America ,Europe, Asia and Africa. The Louisiana Red Swamp Crayfish can even adopt itself to survive, living in Brackish and milder Salt water areas. Those Crawfish Balls look fantastic, way to go! Hi from south east Australia, loved this vid, we catch yabbies here similar to crawfish, nothing on that scale but plenty to eat. When the sea is too rough it's great to venture into fresh water, tight lines 🎣 🐟 🇦🇺 🇺🇲
Those look so delicious. We used to catch them in a creek near my grandparents house in upstate NY while growing up in the 70's but we would just pinch the tails and eat them on the spot. They were fresh and sweet, but we only caught 20 a day or so by hand. I'll bet those balls are better if you have the equipment to catch them by the 100s. Fun vid.
Beautiful vid! Save the Basin! Save Public Access! I've never been able to explain this to folks in New Orleans, even since we were stopping the logging in Bayou Brown ten years ago. North of here, land companies will put fences over the water and keep people from fishing. Anyway, love to see the wild harvest!
I''m a new subscriber as of today...had a blast watching you and Yawt Yawt shoot petra's !!! Helping you build your following and loving every video of it !!!
Maaaan, them crawlballs🦞 looked deeeeeelicious, I guaraaaaantee it!! (Mr. Justin Wilson)😂 Jared, anytime you wanna throw a party, I'll definitely be your friend my brother! 😄👍👍 God Bless ya brother 🙏 Jay.
Here is my cawfish story straight from Louisiana. I had been working on an oil rig in Texas for 6 moths or so and the rig got moved to louisiana soth of Thibideu. The rig happened to be set up between crawfish ponds. We had a board road to the rig well one night I happened to see crawfish all over that road. The tool pusher told me to get the biggest cooler and srart putting as many as I could in there so I did the next morning I could not estimate just how many I had put in that cooler or what it had cost whoever owned those ponds. That cooler had to be 40 or 50 Qts.
I was watching another guy that mentioned y’all so I just subscribed to y’all’s channel. I am from a little town just south of Alexandria. Looking forward to following y’all now!
I got a chance to fly over that place in 2005 in a helicopter, and man all you can see is swamp in every direction. I have always wanted to hunt and fish there, so hopefully one day soon
Amazing but one thing going with the rubbish would it not be easier to on one side of the tray to have a ramp facing upwards to the edge of the boat then you can just scrape all the rubbish straight off the edge
Someone I know (caugh) caught a little alligator south of Morgan City and released it in the Quad at LSU back in the 90's. There was a write up in the Baton Rouge Advocate and the LSU Revellie. To this day there is still not a break in the case.🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful crawfish Jared . They are strong and nice bright red color . Question for you. Why sometimes i see greenish mud color like crayfish at my local fish market. is it the feeding ?
Man that’s a great question. I know for a lot of aquatic life color variations has to do with water clarity but I honestly don’t have a definitive answer for that
Crawfish are definitely my favorite crustacean. The flavor is so good and because they live in fresh water they don’t have a fishy taste. Very mild, and unoffensive. I’d choose to eat crawfish over lobster any day.!!
Gotta admire the respect and cordiality of my people. Aint gonna steal another mans catch. My ribbon is mine your ribbon is yours. Thank you sir.
A shame that's not the norm most places these days.
Respect
I love these Louisiana swamp videos, catch clean and cook, hog hunting etc, can’t do this in London.
Great Show! Very informative and the crawfish balls look delicious!
Man they so good try them out
Sure looked delicious. Also, it was really neat to see how the crawfish are harvested.
They are good. They are so expensive this year because of the bad drought last year. In my part of the state, they aren’t caught in the wild like this. They trap them in flooded unused rice fields.

Your mossy oak hats are ON POINT! Too bad they are currently sold out
The green one is in stock. Use my code “OTL20”
Do you find any difference in taste in wild crawfish from farmed? Shoutout from Allen Parish!
Crawfish are definitely my favorite crustacean. The flavor is so good and because they live in fresh water they don’t have a fishy taste. Very mild, and unoffensive. I’d choose to eat crawfish over lobster any day.!!
