They are good. They are so expensive this year because of the bad drought last year. In my part of the state, they aren’t caught in the wild like this. They trap them in flooded unused rice fields.

Bravo what an awesome, informative Red Swamp Crayfish catching adventure!
Watching this awesome outstanding video makes me feel like I am right there with y'all!
The Louisiana Red Swamp Crayfish is one of the most widely transplanted and proliferated species of Freshwater Crayfish which is now found in many parts outside of it's native range in the southeast USA to all over the world from North America ,Europe, Asia and Africa.
The Louisiana Red Swamp Crayfish can even adopt itself to survive, living in Brackish and milder Salt water areas.
Those Crawfish Balls look fantastic, way to go!
Stay Safe and Keep up the awesome adventurous videos coming, Subscribed!

Those look so delicious. We used to catch them in a creek near my grandparents house in upstate NY while growing up in the 70's but we would just pinch the tails and eat them on the spot. They were fresh and sweet, but we only caught 20 a day or so by hand. I'll bet those balls are better if you have the equipment to catch them by the 100s. Fun vid.

Beautiful vid! Save the Basin! Save Public Access! I've never been able to explain this to folks in New Orleans, even since we were stopping the logging in Bayou Brown ten years ago. North of here, land companies will put fences over the water and keep people from fishing. Anyway, love to see the wild harvest!

Here is my cawfish story straight from Louisiana. I had been working on an oil rig in Texas for 6 moths or so and the rig got moved to louisiana soth of Thibideu. The rig happened to be set up between crawfish ponds. We had a board road to the rig well one night I happened to see crawfish all over that road. The tool pusher told me to get the biggest cooler and srart putting as many as I could in there so I did the next morning I could not estimate just how many I had put in that cooler or what it had cost whoever owned those ponds. That cooler had to be 40 or 50 Qts.
