I know exactly where you are I use. To live in Mongut in the 70's. I use to go crabbing all the time I loved it. The speckled trout fishing, Red fish. That's why I'm i love the channel, got so many memories!

crabbing can be such a very difficult hard thing when you dont catch. I can tell you that from experience. BUT,you did catch some, so thats something. just wait till the water warms a little more and you'll be just fine and have your 5 dozen! enjoyed the video.. great job...bob

Really appreciate your videos. i was born a Hoosier adopted a Kentucky Hard Boot & Louisiana Mud Bug. Can't tell you the number of horses I worked at the Fairgrounds on a sloppy track. Always remember the food at Flelix's. Had great times with Felix Rando's grandson E.J. & his whole family.
Great to watch you all living the dream. We love to crab up here in Maryland too. Just one suggestion, drop the float and the line in the bottom of the boat when you are pulling the trap. You won't make knots in your line or lose your trap. You can also handle the trap better. Come up and do some crabbing and fishing with us.

@@datlouisianalife man, I sure do miss it down on the bayou. We loved it there. Wife flew helicopter search and rescue and I was a chief engineer for a tow boat company called Coastal Towing. On my particular boat we pushed hot oil. New Orleans to St Paul, up the Tennessee and Ohio,even up the Missouri. Across the Intracoastal to Houston. That was 1980 - 1987. The moved to Kodiak Alaska. Out of the frying pan, into the freezer. 😂 I sure did love being an E.M.D. mechanic and chief engineer. Working 30 and 30. Life was good down there.
Yes, the water plants with purple flowers are water lilies. The really big pads, are Louisiana lotus. The seed pods are used in flower arrangements. Some people here, collect the seeds and put them in with boiled seafood. Like a boiled peanut. The pods are called "graine a voler".
Hey Cousin, y’all are spoiling the crab with the fresh chicken. Put in a bucket in the driveway for a day then use it. Makes them crazy! Really like seeing y’all. Love Good folks and Andy for sure.
