This is slowly taking over “mainstream journalism” when will they realise that all people want to see is genuine conversations with genuine people. Keep up the good work Peter 👍🏻
There is definitely a huge target audience for more genuine journalism like this, but a lot of those people likely weren't watching mainstream media anymore to begin with (which includes me). I know that there are still a lot of people who are addicted to the emotional volatility and political hostility that you get out of mainstream news, and I doubt that many of those people will ever transition to this type of content, or at least they won't fully abandon their current sources of info.
As a native Northern California for 61 years, and I mean northern California, I find your content these last few weeks very special to my heart. Thank you Peter.
I agree. This guy is way ahead of the consciousness of most people even far past his age! May all his wildest dreams and goals come true, not only for himself, but the world in general!
I came here to say the same thing. He has great insight and was very entertaining to watch. Intelligent. I hope he goes places and has a good life. He could have his own channel and basically narrated the whole show.
Peters ability to just not talk and stay quiet, letting the person tell their story is so impressive. Exactly how videos like this should be done. 10/10 Peter keep up the awesome work!
Only the inherent bias that one gets when it's a tour from a guy that Peter meets, who introduces his mates, that will necessarily be similar to him...I'm guessing there are other groups of people in Shasta, who live differently
I lost my dad to Non Hodgkins Lymphoma on Christmas day. I'm broken inside, and still mourning. Yet this video was oddly calming in its own way. Lots of people with soothing voices and offbeat beliefs.
THAT’S OUR FIRST BUS!! My husband and I built out THIS bus from 2018-2019, and traveled with it some in 2020 before selling it to do a van. We now live in another skoolie we built out in 2023. The outside looks the same, inside looks different. Great to see it traveling and helping make dreams happen. ✨
That hippie guy with green sweater and brown beanie is inspirational. If my investments pay off, I plan on simplifying my life as much as possible, and let my investments grow, while living the good life.
It's not only on that mountain. If you want spiritual freedom, you can find it anywhere on Earth. You only have to want it & most are too busy consuming. Much love from northern Alabama. Peter, enjoyed your operation paperclip segment from here as well. Thank you for what you do, its awesome!
This is real journalism. Not two people sitting in a room with lights and cameras having a scripted interview lol. The fact that we get to watch these videos totally free on RUclips without having to pay for cable to get it? Priceless. I have learned more from watching your videos, Peter, than I think I have in my whole life when it comes to different people around the world and how they live. It's just amazing that you've devoted your life to this and you're doing SUCH A GOOD JOB at it. Please keep them coming. I'm here for all of them!!!
@@Yessirski916 Ummmmm........... so you're saying that all of these people that he's finding here that literally LIVE IN MOUNT SHASTA are..............fake locals?? I'm sure he didn't plant them there and tell them what to say lol. How ridiculous
My daughter became a Traveler at 19 and ended up in Shasta after traveling all over. At 29 - same age as Bryson - she’s still there, the mountain calls to her to come back if she stays away too long. Everything in this video is exactly like it’s been explained to me. What is life if not for diversity, collecting experiences and living your life instead of life driving you? She’s a bit more mainstream now meaning she’s in a house instead of a van or bus and she works in a store run by a couple selling homegrown food along with crystals, gems, etc. while selling jewelry she taught herself to make and watching others. While the lifestyle obviously isn’t problem/stress-free (there ARE serious issues that come up and they handle it as a community), their collective goal is to make the world a better place politically, ecologically, spiritually through sustainability and community-driven work. My daughter and her peers are happier than anyone else I know. I envy them ❤.
I’m a native Northern Californian and I found your videos as I was recovering from some health issues. I have to say your channel is on the top of my favorite channels. You do such a great job because you just let people be themselves and tell their stories and opinions in a very non-confrontational way. It’s amazing that you actually find out more about the world on your channel than by watching cable news. Thank you again and keep up the great work!
This is straight talk. REALISM. this young man is brilliant. He knows the reality. Morgan too...Give and take WHAT YOU NEED. This is the new Norm of education/journalism. LOVED THIS PROJECT
Agreeing - lets hear More of the indiginious tell their stories!❤ Get back to New Mexico to the Mesas there! & go to Truth or Consequences, other places around Santa Fe, Las Crucas, Hatch, and get around to the old old Kivas and indiginious towns and cities and Rez
The young man you were interviewing seems like a genuinely nice dude, he's a also got so much knowledge and knows how to flow, and he just has so much in his head that he can. I quite enjoyed this one, not only because you have great content, but he was such a great person to interview!
As a Norwegian, this this channel has taught me so much about american culture. You wont get this anywhere else! Thank you so much Peter for making these incredible videos!
The majority of these interviews involve folks who live on the “fringe” of American society. They are a component of our society, but do not necessarily interact with the mainstream. They exist separate from the general population.
@@pamkriner5945yes, but not exactly. Just because they live the fringe life doesn't mean they are not a huge component to our society. You're basically saying that only people in the cities matter, but anyone else doesn't contribute to the culture. You'd be surprised how many city folk either came from or are currently moving out of these fringe areas of the country or have adapted this type of culture into their everyday life.
@@AlwaysCheckmateNeverStalemateno sir, I did not say that…you did. Not sure about the “huge” component, but they are increasing. And no, city folk and cities do not create a culture, although roughly 80% of the population exists in urban areas. That does not mean those of us who live in rural areas are unimportant.
@@pamkriner5945I encourage you to watch more of his "older" videos. He has been to many places in the U.S. that are more town/city focused than the places he has been in California.
I hope this guy makes it. I see a guy that could contribute a lot but the economics situation got him trapped. Keep going young man, don't let it grind you down.
@joeducker8543 I would disagree, consider myself more of a realistic person. "Problem" with you is living in your parents basement and sucking off the system. Now is that negative or reality? Maybe I'm the sucker for working. 🤔
Both @densitymatrix1 and @chrism-h5u are correct here and have good intentions and solid reasoning behind what they said. and Hey man I appreciate you so much and I wouldn’t say the economic situation has me trapped, but like the wu tang being stranded in Staten Island, Shasta is a very remote and unheard of place with many challenges including economics and the environment created by being isolated. It takes a long time to create a culture for yourself and music and art based on that culture that allows you to succeed and use your isolation and habitat as a tool to make something truly unique and beautiful.
@@ChrisM-h5u Ya I think you're telling the truth also, I live in my van, but I live in the city because ya just gotta be somewhere where there's jobs. That place is beautiful I'd love to live there no doubt.
The main thing I love about this channel (which is honestly my #1 YT channel) is that Peter lets his subjects speak for themselves. His authenticity allows him (and us) access to incredibly interesting people, and his humility allows them to say what they want to say, and us viewers to take away from it what we will.
100% man. Peter Santenello is great at giving people space to speak and doesn’t crowd them and lets them speak their mind so we can understand them and their story. He’s a great vlogger. Glad I found this channel as he has interesting content and is really cool to people. I recall he said he was a waiter in Lake Tahoe and his people skills definitely shine through and make the channel very enjoyable the way he does things. He’s found his calling here making great videos like he does.
Thank you for another very interesting video Peter! Your energy always attracts amazing people who have so much knowledge and love inside them! Your videos make me want to visit all those places and meet all the people you meet! Happy new year from Germany!
The people you met during your visit to Mount Shasta actually put me in a very peaceful place while watching.. I have seen many of yourvideos, but have not felt that inner peace like I did with this group! They are truly special! Thank you for introducting them!
Your wife is beautiful and such a delight to see her on camera too. PETER, I am oglala Lakota and Assinibione Sioux. My rez is Fort Peck up in NE Montana. We hope you keep 🙏🏽 your channel up and going, thank you for all you expose us to. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin
Man, I'm from Sweden. Never visited USA. Never wanted to until I saw your videos. So many great places and people. Would love to drive around to places movies and media never show us. Amazing!
California has the same population as Canada and There are hundreds of square miles of wilderness in California that gets no mainstream media attention. I've lived here my entire 64 years and will never see all the great places in California.
Just curious, what sort of stuff does media show you over there? Probably the worst, which is fair these days, but these videos really start to show you the variety of people and communities here. I'm around Chicago so that video series was so cool to see.
I was homeless for a minute in the climbing community and the long hug Morgan gave Billy while y'all were saying bye really hit me hard for some reason. When you're living like that, you hug your friends different. You appreciate the quiet moments with them different. Human connection just feels much more valuable when there's nothing else to distract you from how much you need it
Thanks Peter for letting Bryson share this little piece of paradise. I’m a lover of Mt Shasta (and area) from Switzerland and I drove thru it on my way to Pelican Bay State Prison. I wish I could stay/camp in the area for a few months… I’m also an avid reader of everything pertaining to the Mt Shasta mysteries, the I AM stuff, Telos, etc… I don’t have the money to travel from Switzerland, so this video made me feel right there! Love it!
I’m in my sixties, been clean and sober 34 years in the various 12-Step programs and the US is what I consider my soul country, ever since my childhood. Was a foreign exchange student in MN, and returned to US whenever possible. Started corresponding with a prisoner at PBSP, as I could’ve landed in prison myself (in the past), fell in love… 18 years ago, now married and visiting whenever I can afford it. I am still drawn to what society calls “bad boys“ (but can’t be around those who drink or drug), and I myself live on the fringe of society, but in a Program sort of way, spiritual (meditation, etc), self-help stuff
Are they tho ? I love the stories and positivity people share with each other but at some point you can’t ignore the fact that some of these people are crazy and instead of setting them straight with reality they feed their delusions
The bead maker, near the end of clip ,showing his creations had some fantastic work there. The quill work from what I could see looked outrageous. Top quality.
Peter, I think the reason so many of us are drawn to your videos versus other people's doing similar things is how much you open yourself up to the people you talk with in front of the camera, to tell your history and your experiences as a young guy living in a van, for instance let us know you a bit and lets your interviewee know you.. and knowing someone even just a little bit makes you feel like you can be honest with them.. makes you feel like you can trust them a little and I have never seen you betray that trust, which is what so many people do for drama.....Respect ! Great video !
I used to live in Shasta County in between Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen. I lived primarily off the land for one year and worked on a ranch for two years and still lived off the land. I could see both MountShasta and Lassen peak. I could tell what the weather was going to be by the cloud “cap “ on Mount Shasta. Whenever Shasta has a cap of cloud it will rain in three days. It was in 1979 to 1982. I didn’t need any money and only cashed my paychecks every six months when my employer would complain to me about not cashing or depositing my checks. At that time drug runners traveled on highway 299 and often were found dead in their cars over embankments along the highway. The locals suspected that the sheriff’s department was killing them because they didn’t really care and barely investigated the cases, stating it’s drug related. In those days people would say that you shouldn’t go on the mountain and that many people disappeared there. I Lived on the Shasta/ Lassen County line near a lava rim and to my West was the Hat Creek Rim . I was told by the locals and the native people not to go out in the land between the lava rims. This area is full of lava tubes ancient fissures and there’s a cinder cone out there. I ventured out there and to the cinder cone and into its crater. There are cracks in the ground that might be a foot wide at the top and go down a hundred feet into the ground into lava tubes and giant underground rooms. Some of the old people said that every now and then strangers and hunters would disappear out there and never be found. They also told me Sasquatch lived there.
I wouldn’t suspect the sheriffs of killing drug runners. It’s a nasty business filled with people who don’t gaf about other people. They probably didn’t spend much time investigating because they don’t have the manpower to dig deep into the drug world. I also don’t think they want to get involved and cross the wrong people.
Lived nearby and of course Shasta lake was where we'd go to the water. Seems expanded as far as who's setting up business of spiritual experiences. In 1975 & later would have festivals closer base Mt Shasta. They all seem to be part of the "system ", commercialized. I know several people who've visited the past few years, now I understand what they were sharing.
I believe… have had my own run in here in Alaska where the elders told me not to go… of course i didnt listen. Sabe (Sasquatch) are real. And aware of us.
What beautiful people. I am 75 yrs old and was one of the free spirits that lost his way in the capitalist world, your video has brought me back to the essence of life. Thank you!
You're 75 and still looking. Look no further. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Ask him to come into your life, he will. He has a plan for you.
The capitalist world that you were lost in pays taxes, and taxes are the backbone of food stamps, which apparently many free spirits need to sustain themselves. The truth is that we are all connected.
@jonmacdonald5345 yep, he celebrated the Jewish festivals. There is nothing in the bible that says you can't celebrate and be joyful. Praise the Lord. I'm off to church now 🥳
Bryson’s narrative about Shasta’s history and culture is engaging, insightful, and entertaining. Moreover, his old-soul perspective and demeanor gave the viewer an unvarnished and compassionate glimpse into the reality of this city’s lifestyle.
@@lynnarthur-stillalive2025 he's only showing a bum's lifestyle. Most people here are decent and hard working. These are all outsiders who moved here from somewhere else. They mooch on locals.
I did not expect to enjoy this video this much, let alone watch the whole thing. You did a great job on the video and found amazing people to work with you.
"Bring the energy we have into the world." Probably the most meaningful statement. A lot of people want to run away from the world (including myself) and escape the reality that seems so problematic. BUT, there wont be anywhere to escape to before long, if enough people dont live by that quote.
@randomname-tl3fw I don't follow. That quote comes from the guy in the video, who has a job. Thus I am agreeing with his statement that the people he was associating with who had strong feelings against the state of the world should not exclude themselves as a result, but rather, include themselves and their thoughts in hopes of making a change.
Bravo. You picked a good person to interview. My wife and I worked in Arcata and Eureka for a couple of summers, and saw a lot of the scene. It was not all peace and love. A lot of drugs, a lot of trash, and a way more seedy vibe than we imagined.
Fun Fact for me is we've seen Peter try many, many new foods and, every time he eats a new dish he gives the impression each was better than the last. Super respectful fellow because we all know (not speaking on this soup) he has had to have regretted a few! Hats off to him for that!
I've lived in Siskiyou County for almost 25 years now. I see Mt. Shasta every single day. It's rugged majestic beauty is second to none. Its an awe inspiring mountain and it never gets old. Do I believe in any of the mystical nonsense about Shasta? Hell no. I just appreciate its awesomeness and am thankful to have been able to live in its shadow for all these years.
it's strange how about these people seem to have a major misunderstanding of a very standard state and federal right called welfare and or in this dumb kids case CalFresh he's in California that's called CalFresh, getting government assistance is based on your income and it varies per county, as an example in San Francisco you can earn $100,000 and still be considered low income, in siskiyou county you can probably earn $30,000 and be considered low income, had everything that that kid said is illegal and he could go to jail and I think he already said that he lost his benefits because of his probably stupid ideas of how the laws work😅
@@arcatacompany there's a whole bunch of them and they all group up by gumboot lake. It's a mess and they leave trash everywhere. Cause problems for fishermen and campers. Come to find out they are all living off of our dime...
@@arcatacompany Thanks for the comment. I consider myself educated. I’m getting ready to apply for social security. It is anything but easy to max out your benefit. To get every last Penney. Ive even hired an attorney. Navigating welfare and food stamps is not that easy. More importantly he said he doesn’t want to use it. He wants to be self supporting. Maybe you didn’t catch that part. I like this guy. He’s trying.
@SuperReznative That's not my path, but I respect whatever works for you to be kind and loving; and we can still agree we should love and care for one another.
@@SuperReznative Yes, according to the ancient manuscripts gathered to form the Bible, it states that He is THE great I AM, not sime guy from the 1800's. Sounds like the "i am" group is a copycat religion borrowed from a few religions to make their own religion, their own god. That is what it seems to me.
As a European I have just been binging your unknown USA videos. My god the nature is absolutely stunning. The people are also great and the sense of community and connectedness is really something I envy as a city rat in the Netherlands.
Go there Man, if you are not disabled or too old, go there.... you can always go back to the city when you are old.... i love Amsterdam, but it's a 'virtual reality' , Nederlands is a 'virtual reality', Nederlands has no nature, everything is man made an man managed, the Mountain is calling you....
Here in the States, you need to get away from the big cities to find the people that make this country great. We love our freedom and I myself would love for Europeans to have all the freedoms that we have.
My experience, having oived in Europe and the US is that Americans believe in a very rudimentary kind of freedom. More of an egoistic, I want to do what I want and don’t care about how it affects others. Freedom for me but not for others. Rles for the others, but not for me. Not individualism but collective egoism. Take that we car dependence and lack of third places, living in Europe provides more freedom of live and thought than the US.
I lived in Mt. Shasta for many years in the late 90’s and early 2000. There is a completely different type of person who lives in that area than what you saw and interviewed. I hope you will show both sides. Families who have lived there from generation to generation with incredible stories to tell. You do a great job keeping it real Peter. It’s a stunning place isn’t it?
Though he did only seen one side I can say as someone who moved from Pennsylvania to Mendocino area, yea it was cool and I met awesome people but it's not safe for people like us. There is so many people that are crazy and/or on drugs out there it's not fun. I lived in Humboldt at 17 trying to grow weed just to lose 175k to some crazy guy. I'm luck I lived, the only way I got out of that was by stealing a work truck and driving to a greyhound bus station and getting a ticket home. I didn't even have a phone because the guy I worked for took my phone for 9 months.
Guess that's my fault for working for an illegal grow op. I didn't know what I was getting into until I realized Mt life meant nothing and that I was being robbed
I was having lunch in Berryvale Grocery years ago. At the table next to mine were three "farmer" types. By that, I mean they were wearing flannel shirts, denim overalls, worn and muddy boots, and hats with farming equipment logos. Their ages appeared to be from 40s to 80s. They were having an honest (supportive, not ridiculing) conversation about energy healing.
Peter is a great interviewer and mostly importantly a good listener. He does not interrupt his interviewee and let the flow of the conversation go on so smoothly. Enjoy all your video as it is so eye opening to hear people from different background speak their mind.
Funny. I am born and raised in California. I spent every weekend possible camping in Forest Hill when I was in my early to mid 20s. I was on my way to Oregon to live in a commune in the mid 90’s as a 20+ university graduate when I got married and had a baby and got derailed from my dream. I probably would have ended up in Shasta. It was totally my vibe. I now live in Germany for 20+ years, such a long way from home. Thank you for the tour. 🌸🙏🏽🌸
@ I wouldn’t have been poor, but I probably would have moved to Shasta. Not that there is anything wrong with being poor. I probably would have worked for water sanitation or something. I’m a biologist. The commune I was moving to were also all university graduates. One was even an environmental lawyer. Not all hippies-types are living on the edge. Most come from upper middle class families and many have advanced education. Many are eco-hippies. No drugs, just clean living. They just want to live an eco-friendly life style.
I ended up in Shasta (Lakehead) to get clean after a decade of drugs and lived in a tent and then a motor home, worked at Bridge Bay resort and loved it! So refreshing. Only left to be nearer my kids and grandkids but still in Northern California. I love all of the personalities in this amazing video ❤
As an ex-deli manager at Grocery Outlet in Ukiah (Northern Ca) I can attest to the fact that Grocery Outlet there has some of the best specialty cheeses and one of the best wine selections I've ever seen. PS I also live out of my Yukon XL and am traveling about Northern Ca. Currently working at WinCo in Eureka. This store is crazy yo. Stay blessed

I was hoping you did a video on Mount Shasta. Im from the UK but did a road trip from San Francisco all the way to Portland stopping at all of the volcanoes along the way, Mount Shasta, Mount Jefferson, Mount St Helens and Mount Hood. All absolutely beautiful and awe inspiring mountains with incredible beauty and nature. Mount Shasta seems to attract a lot of mystery as well which added to its charm.
I grew up around this mountain. My dad’s family is from here. I recently just moved away to the midwest for different opportunities. These videos couldn’t come at a better time since they remind me of home and what I grew up around. Thank you Peter
Wow! Best one hour , thirteen minutes and 6 seconds I’ve experienced in a long long time! Woke up at 3 this morning and looked at you tube and this is what appeared! Thank you ! I’ve subscribed and can’t wait to watch more!❤
Mt Shasta is actually the wealthiest town in Siskiyou County. You want so see people who are actually struggling, check out the east side of the county where big Ag has taken over the farmland, and the mills were shut down years ago.
That's not saying much. I have spent time in the area. Mt Shasta is still a very working class town with a median household income of $48,000. It is also not cheap, -only by California standards. There are wealthy people of course but they are small minority and often live outside of town, and there is a lot of poverty and crime and drugs in Shasta.
@jKLa when I said "wealthiest", it was certainly meant in relative terms. I grew up on the north/east side of the mountain in Butte Valley. Mt Shasta was able to maintain somewhat of an economy through tourism and the "crystal hippies" who make regular pilgrimages there. The rest of the county, which is the 2nd largest in the State, was hard hit by the woods getting shut down, and subsequently the mills. Much of the farming in the valley has been taken over by BigAg unfortunately.
While most travel vlogs focus on hopping from one country to another, Peter’s vlogs opened our eyes to the cultural richness that can exist within a single country, it’s incredible how vast USA is, I can’t wait for the vlogs on the Pacific Northwest.
Peter, you have to be one of the most genuine humans out there! Your appreciation for all walks of life is amazing! Keep making the awesome videos and allowing me to see the world and be a better human myself. So quickly we judge people for their lifestyle and never get the chance to hear their stories! Thank you for all you do!
I lived at the base of Mount Shasta for 27 years. When I arrived there in the early nineties it was a whole different energy than it is in 2024. There was no internet and not so much tourism. We could live all summer long up on the mountain in solitude. Back then we could legally camp at Castle Lake, Panther Meadows, Lake Siskiyou, the river, and have a mineral spring bath at Ney Springs. Rarely did people visit the waterfalls there. The sacred spots remained sacred because no one was posting it online with directions to get there. Soul Connections came in and eventually took over part of the town, and more and more crystal shops opened. It’s turned into a mini Sedona. Housing costs skyrocketed and to rent in town is virtually impossible. Thank you for sharing…I even recognized a local I once knew…
Even Sedona was waaay different in the 1990s, which is when I first visited and fell in love. In love enough to move there twice (2007 and late 2019), but world events of economy and pandem*c told me it's a place to visit but not inhabit. It now has all the same issues as Mt Shasta. Sedona's gotten so so commercialized that the town has lost much of its appeal. The wilderness areas still hold the magic though. And talking to the people who lived there in the 1980's was revelatory.
@@_GntlStone_ Sedona's like any other place now, sadly. The magic is there, just not in town. Was in Flag at the foot of those mountains for years (that I now miss), and moved to Oregon. Same here. Deep, ancient, mountain magic, just not in Portland or Hood River or Bend where you can't afford to live anyway. There's still wild, open country out here. It's a day's ride and not for those lacking courage. Like Shasta used to be long before we were all born.
I have often written, Peter, that your videos are a twist of the kaleidoscope of not just the US, but of humanity. Thanks again for a mesmerizing swirl of the scope. And, of course, great thanks to the souls who shared with us.
Love this. I'm originally from Southern Oregon- and so miss Mount Shasta. So glad Peter shows the earnest humanity in everything, everywhere he goes. Love everyone he featured in this video.
I'm a guy from Los Angeles.Born and Raised. The first time I drove to Shasta and Weed County I was in awwwwww. Especially seeing Mnt Shasta for the first time. People are very nice. Very slow paced. There's alot of misfits. Definitely a must see place. Just becareful.
Massive respect for Brycen. The amount of knowledge he has is phenomenal. His perspectives are centered in acceptance and peace. I learnt a ton about myself and my shortcoming just watching this and how he interacts. Thank you.
Loved this so much, thank you Peter! ❤ I have been waiting for a solid video on Mt. Shasta and was so excited to see you went there!! Also Bryson was great!! I resonated so deeply with him and can’t wait to check out his conscious music🙏 Thank you both so much 💜
Wife and I have wondered the affect of Peters interviews has had on his own personal beliefs , then we realized how not knowing Peters personal beliefs helps us focus on the people he interviews. Keep up the excellent journalism Peter! 👊🏽
He's mentioned his beliefs in a few videos. If I remember correctly, I would probably refer to somebody like him as an agnostic. He's accepting of all religions, but he does not identify with any particular religion.
"I read all the time"..100% is evident. Compare Bryson, his knowledge, authority, amd confidence in what he is saying with many of the rest of the younger generation who camt read mich more than an X post amd you will clearly see how reading can literally change lives.
He was so great, what knowledge he has about the area you were taken to. Gentle soul, giving Peter a stone crystal was so kind! Great documentary with so many people who have such unique beautiful free souls up there that you met! Each had so much to share and were really welcoming to you! Thanks Risen (sorry if I misspelled your name) for sharing this area and having your people be “seen” here! We see you and we send ❤️ to all of you and that beautiful mountain too!!!
Bryson, Respect to you! I love that you know about how your words will cast a spell and can raise the vibration with positive and true meaning. I love that you know all of this history and knowledge and can share it off the cuff!!! ❤❤❤😍Thank you for sharing!
The variety of lifestyle depicted in Peter's videos reevaluated my perception of how we could *BE* in this world. What makes this videos interesting is how relevant they are to us, for they are a life of us in different people, so close, yet different. Each community of whom Peter came across, whether the folks in Hawaii, the historically inculcated Cajun country, the eerie and quaint Appalachia...expresses a certain kind of truth that discerns their quality of life, in which it is unconcealed when one becomes immersed in it.
Thanks so much for this one, Peter. I used to get the best advice from the Buddhist Monastery on Mt.Shasta. The monks and nuns were great. Mt.Shasta was called the Holy Mountain by the Indians. Beautiful country.
@@masoncarter6709 this is part of the problem. Ppl like me are not necessarily aware of this lifestyle. But when we compliment we are chastised. He meant well.
I did for you. Most of these hippy kids/grownups are from the east and midwest and they grew up with money but don’t want anyone to know 😁 That’s what I have noticed and they give themselves away with their pretentious attitudes. They sometimes grow up and become lawyers and politicians.
I did it for you too. Trustafarians with giant buses. Imagine the gas that thing takes and not to mention what it releases into the environment. Cutting down live still growing trees to stay warm instead of taking what's already been given to you by being dropped. But if you put on native looking clothing and flowing dresses and talk in a super breathy voice you can satisfy that seeking need to "feel different".
I Lived in Northern California for 25+ years, My youngest daughter stayed in the Harmony of Nature when I moved home. I am planted in a low-profile cabin right in the middle of the City now, close to my "nearly" blind mother's neighborhood. She is 90 and still mows her lawn, (a mom who grew up on a Dairy Ranch). Most of all I miss the water, rocks, and trees. I am happily dreaming about the day when I will return to nature. Thanks, Peter for today.

This is slowly taking over “mainstream journalism” when will they realise that all people want to see is genuine conversations with genuine people. Keep up the good work Peter 👍🏻
that's right
Hah yeah ok
There is definitely a huge target audience for more genuine journalism like this, but a lot of those people likely weren't watching mainstream media anymore to begin with (which includes me). I know that there are still a lot of people who are addicted to the emotional volatility and political hostility that you get out of mainstream news, and I doubt that many of those people will ever transition to this type of content, or at least they won't fully abandon their current sources of info.

Lived on the Shasta/ Lassen County line near a lava rim and to my West was the Hat Creek Rim .

Probably also depends on the region. California seems kind of special. My experience with the Midwest and South is quite different.
Wow love the kid you’re interviewing from cedar city. He talks like an wise ancient indigenous man ❤🎉
Watching these allow me to appreciate my own life and be a better dad to my children. Thank you Peter, these videos are truly a blessing.
Great insight...I hope I'm not the only one who saw the hidden, somewhat sarcastic, message in your comment...😵💫😁✌️🙏
The comment sections to Peter's videos are some of the best. It's actually fun to read through them and see all the different people it's reaching.
Instead he filmed some kid who moved here from Utah with fantasies of being a hippie is NorCal.
What other kind of people?
Sadly I feel more safe in a city
Just popped in to offer support for the channel. I LOVE what you do, Peter. Its real people, real life. Keep up the great work.
Thank You. This young man has such depth and enable him to share that, you are both golden.
This how humans are supposed to be, not watching daytime tv 📺☠️
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was having lunch in Berryvale Grocery years ago. At the table next to mine were three "farmer" types. By that, I mean they were wearing flannel shirts, denim overalls, worn and muddy boots, and hats with farming equipment logos. Their ages appeared to be from 40s to 80s. They were having an honest (supportive, not ridiculing) conversation about energy healing.
That is interesting and good to hear.
❤
Big pharma doesn't profit from us normal folks knowing about esoteric knowledge of our inner energies and how it could be good for our health 😉
LOVE THAT!
Yep, I worked at Berryvale for years. You see it all there. It truly is the epicenter of all of the weird, wacky and spiritual in Mount Shasta.
Peter is a great interviewer and mostly importantly a good listener. He does not interrupt his interviewee and let the flow of the conversation go on so smoothly. Enjoy all your video as it is so eye opening to hear people from different background speak their mind.
My favorite episode thus far. Don't usually comment but had to say thank you to you and everyone involved. Beautiful energy.
🌸🙏🏽🌸
Sounds like you were saved by grace.
I love Forest Hill!! Laura was an amazing local❤ I spiked out in the local elementary school yard, fighting fire 🔥
Hope your doing well
How did you get to Germany? Way better off than here in the US! So jealous!

I really enjoyed Brysons sharing of his life and thoughts about Shasta. Many blessings to him! Will check out the music!
Took a wrong turn and found my way to crater lake and umpqua hot springs, magical country, would love to go back there to explore more of the area
I grew up around this mountain. My dad’s family is from here. I recently just moved away to the midwest for different opportunities. These videos couldn’t come at a better time since they remind me of home and what I grew up around. Thank you Peter
What opportunities does the “Mid West” offer you that this area did not? Cheaper land?
Not true at all Midwest land is very expensive these guys are drug addicts@@BothSidesareCorrupt

Mt Shasta is actually the wealthiest town in Siskiyou County. You want so see people who are actually struggling, check out the east side of the county where big Ag has taken over the farmland, and the mills were shut down years ago.
What areas?
Bro fighting whos poorer 😂
@@viviansavage1138 right, it's the least low income town in the area, but it is still rather low income as well as being a socially troubled place.
While most travel vlogs focus on hopping from one country to another, Peter’s vlogs opened our eyes to the cultural richness that can exist within a single country, it’s incredible how vast USA is, I can’t wait for the vlogs on the Pacific Northwest.
Yeah it's definitely some special free roaming around places out here that most other countries will never have access to.
I just discovered this Chanel, wow! What a find indeed!!! Thank you so much for what you do!!!
I loathe that sort of takeover. It’s never good.
I found these off the grid-ers speaking lots of mumbo jumbo, hocus pocus
@@hollygolightly7475 You ought to try "turning on and tuning in" then you would understand.

I wanted to roll my eyes at these people (grew up in Berkeley), but in the end they were really nice and genuine. Blessings
I did for you. Most of these hippy kids/grownups are from the east and midwest and they grew up with money but don’t want anyone to know 😁 That’s what I have noticed and they give themselves away with their pretentious attitudes. They sometimes grow up and become lawyers and politicians.
I’m from Maryland, we had lots of dead heads believe it or not. I use to go to shows as a kid but I was more observing the scene..
