So sad. I tend to shop at Morrisons regularly. I walked past the petrol pump a few weeks ago and saw a £10 note. Then I saw a wad of notes blowing around the forecourt. I picked them up and held them for all to see, I handed the notes in to customer services. They counted it and there was £310 in total. A week later my local Morrisons phoned me to say that the money had been reunited with its owner. I had just lost my lovely husband. The owner was so grateful for my honesty that he put £40 in an envelope for me for a reward. I will put it towards my husband's headstone. Going after organised crime like this is extremely difficult because they tend to get some corrupt police officers. The fact so many things are linked together its going to be nearly impossible to deal with this.
I think starting with the laws needing a good shake up and courts dishing out appropriate punishments Problem is courts rather slap fines on people make money than actually punishing people with a decent sentence But also stores can do more to stop or rather make it a lot harder by not allowing customers coming into stores with bags especially bags big enough to hold lots KF items I live abroad now and how they do things here certainly works shoplifting does happen but not much simply because they would get jailed if convicted and sentences can range from 4 to 12 years Stores don't allow customers to carry bags into shop floors to stop people stuffing items in bags customers have to leave their bags at a courtesy booth tho women can take handbag Also here they usually have plenty security guards as well many KF whom are packing normally a handgun but have seen some malls where guards are lacking shot guns haha hell even police here sometimes seen packing M16s no kidding So yep it's no wonder shoplifting is rarely heard of here So yes there are things super markets can do to minimize shoplifting but I guess it might piss some people off especially leaving bags at courtesy booths even I do here when carrying my laptop can be a bit inconvenient
I've been at the coalface in the private security industry tackling this problem, for a number of years. Very often the police aren't interested. In my opinion theft of this nature has been decriminalised, giving criminals a green light, with no consequences.
I feel you man I was a security guard for Mitie contracted Sainsbury’s for four years and I’ve stopped dozen of shoplifters. The repeat offenders that keep doing it they only spend a few weeks or months in prison soon as they get out they start again. As for the shoplifting gangs well they’re Eastern European mostly with one security guard on duty what can you do to stop them? Besides calling the police even then they don’t take interest or take hours to turn up.
In my town the Travellers loot the shops on a daily basis , the pay for nothing , even sending very young kids in the shop to steal so that they avoid prosecution. They use Greggs as a free meal station and eat as much as they want and walk out, the staff have been told not to do anything about it.
@carolynmcwilliam7981 every single location , there are sandwiches, cold drinks, bread and cakes and hot chicken, soups in the front of the store and the rest is behind the counter . You obviously haven't been to any of the stores.
Yes I see travelers especially kids just brazenly walk into bakery’s and just swipe things off the shelves and walk out. The police don’t bother with prosecution as they won’t turn up to court anyway and be in a different town next week.
I can confirm it's true - the staff are told to never confront shoplifters. My daughter works in a city centre Greggs and they see it all hours of the day, several times a day and can do nothing about it. It's so frustrating!

Meat theft has been going on for years, nothing new there, powdered milk, alcohol coffee razor blades, it’s not that no one can afford it, it’s just easy to get rid of, the shop lifters sell the stuff at a very much cheaper price. The other issue, during and just after covid a lot of big super markets cut back dramatically of security, I’m so glad I’m not a store detective any more
Just witnessed a case of this in West London Morrison, two guys picked up bottles of wine and just walked out with no resistance. I spoke to to the staff and they said it happens very frequently and police have no interest in tackling them.
And it will get worse. Fare Dodgers and shoplifting have increased tenfold. Security have a nerve to follow genuine shoppers around the store while the real criminals are taking to order and walking straight out the store. As for B&M they need to employ experience security officers. Yesterday it was a shoplifters paradise the two crooks was lifting right in front of Security, he did absolutely nothing.
In my local shop the shoplifting has got so bad you have to queue at the counter first to even get a basket to put your things in now. Another area a large co-op that had been there for decades was shut down in the last few years. People were walking in grabbing all the meat and toiletries and just walking out. No employee is going to fight a shoplifter for chicken and sausages. Got so bad and blatant it was a security risk for those working there, for other people just shopping and it wasn't worth doing business anymore. The knock on effect for the old people in the area who couldn't drive or go very far was substantial. Lots of them used to go there as their little walk just to talk to someone or bump into someone they knew and buy the few bits they needed for the day. My gran was one of them. So sad.
I work for a major retailer and their tolerance for theft is insane. If they bothered to link up and work with other retailers they could cut down most of the organised shop lifting by 50% which would be millions.

I used to work in a department store in the 80s and the security staff were all ex-armed services and in plain clothes. They were extraordinary in their attitude to their work. If something got stolen and they failed to spot and stop the perpetrator they were gutted. They took real pride in stopping theft, and they were prepared to physically stop shoplifters to the extent I witnessed full blown fights. I'm not sure what the law is now, or if policy is governed by the employers, but if shoplifters know they can steal without being challenged physically the problem will continue and grow, particularly with the influx of foreign gangs. I particularly feel sorry for shop workers who have to deal with this behaviour and also small businesses who are really impacted by theft. Unfortunately, this is another aspect of declining standards in British society which has been governed by weak leadership and acceptance of persistent criminal behaviour. This country is slowly committing suicide.

Our country needs radical change.
Its already been changed radically by leftist ideals and mass immigration. I dont think the Britain from the 90s when I was a kid will ever come back.
Going after organised crime like this is extremely difficult because they tend to get some corrupt police officers. The fact so many things are linked together its going to be nearly impossible to deal with this.
To right it does but its only gonna get worse .
I think starting with the laws needing a good shake up and courts dishing out appropriate punishments
Problem is courts rather slap fines on people make money than actually punishing people with a decent sentence
But also stores can do more to stop or rather make it a lot harder by not allowing customers coming into stores with bags especially bags big enough to hold lots KF items
I live abroad now and how they do things here certainly works shoplifting does happen but not much simply because they would get jailed if convicted and sentences can range from 4 to 12 years
Stores don't allow customers to carry bags into shop floors to stop people stuffing items in bags customers have to leave their bags at a courtesy booth tho women can take handbag
Also here they usually have plenty security guards as well many KF whom are packing normally a handgun but have seen some malls where guards are lacking shot guns haha hell even police here sometimes seen packing M16s no kidding
So yep it's no wonder shoplifting is rarely heard of here
So yes there are things super markets can do to minimize shoplifting but I guess it might piss some people off especially leaving bags at courtesy booths even I do here when carrying my laptop can be a bit inconvenient
Zeno should be wanted for that haircut.

Never ever been to a greggs where you eat before u pay, plz leave locations... 😅😅

@LukeHolland-f9v Most won't steal, but they would buy shoplifted stuff at half price in the pub.
Meat theft has been going on for years, nothing new there, powdered milk, alcohol coffee razor blades, it’s not that no one can afford it, it’s just easy to get rid of, the shop lifters sell the stuff at a very much cheaper price. Yes your right 😂
In my local shop the shoplifting has got so bad you have to queue at the counter first to even get a basket to put your things in now. So sad.
That's a shame for the old folks.

Yes and the laws also need to change especially regarding punishments because it's no wonder there are repeat offenders when the punishments are piss poor like a 150 fine and a slap on the wrist and many KF these shoplifters could easily pay off that fine in a days shoplift
But I live abroad now and it's so different here compared to back in UK here theft regardless the type of theft can come with a prison sentence anywhere from 4 to 12 years and while you wait for your court appearance of you can't afford the bail you are remanded that tends to help deter thieves unless it's the drug addicts doing it they don't give a shit

There were 4 Uniformed Security Guards outside of the store and they had closed off the Entrance doors so there was just a single entry/exit.
Just inside the Entrance there were another 5 Uniformed Security and as you walked around you could tell there were a lot of Store Detectives !.
The shop was rammed with people and I’m afraid it was pretty easy spotting quite a few people who were shoplifting ( personally I think they know which ones are but they are being targeted only those who target expensive items at the moment ).
As you walk around the Town you can tell there are plenty of Pickpockets operating as well as plenty of ' professional beggars ',the Town has gone from being a Quite nice Tourist Beach resort into a Slum !!.
It is Dirty and disheveled and dingy with an extremely ' unsafe vibe '.
Myself and my partner witnessed 6 young men who were sexually harassing a couple of young girls and we asked the girls if they were okay and wanted to walk with us !!.
A group of 15 young men were being Racist towards a elderly white couple who had only asked the men to be careful as they ran around in the busy street ( the men were drinking in open from cans and bottles ).
Now this is the MAIN Road which links the Town Centre to the Seafront and has signs stating ' No Drinking Alcohol ' and other signs such as No Cycling ( Lots of Cyclists totally ignoring that one and nearly colliding with everyone ).
You can Tell the Road is a dangerous place to be and especially after Darkness.
Drugs are a big problem in Great Yarmouth now,Gangs are rampant and violent crime has quadrupled…… but where are the Police ??.
I’m Sorry but if the Police want Respect then they NEED to be there !!! Joe Public isn’t going to respect them for doing nothing 🤷♂️ and criminals are literally running that once lovely place.
Big exaggeration, I been Yarmouth endless times, zero problems.
…”one of the first organised shoplifting gangs in the uk!” Have they never heard of scousers?
😂
I was in Liverpool recently. All the women there are ORANGE. They go so berserk on the fake tan it ends up looking like a finish, not a tan.
@@terrabyte911I completely agree!!! And I'm a scouse girl 😂

I love how the guy just outright says "it's stolen" lol.
security cant grab you hold you search you ,and police wont come if its less than £200 .
They can make a citizens arrest and detain you by reasonable force if necessary.
@@snowflakemelter1172- correct . But they cant search the person. Police job only
The only people to blame are the MPs who have allowed this to happen. Again putting immigrants above uk citizens.
Top level investigative work there. Well done!
Those fake nails are seriously creepy.
Great investigating ❤
Doesn’t make sense, where are the Morrison’s security? Why they are not taking any actions to make an arrest.🤔
Not aloud to.
@@koby4094 So whats the point of having them there?
@@philipfriend9737 a deterrent
@@daveaustin1093 They need to put some Gurka guards in supermarkets
Love how shocked they were when they got arrested. People are such actors nowadays
Thanks for posting
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out where they sell the goods!! A corner shop can’t make huge amounts of money so quickly, so if they’re driving around in top of the range Mercedes or the like they’re usually up to something
There is absolutely nothing new going on here. The same thing has been happening all over the UK ever since I was involved in retail security and that is going back to the 1990's
ever since the windrush it started. Accelerated in the 90s.
@@Troy-q6p nothing to do with windrush people stop being racist.
Back then you waited in line and ordered at the counter and it was brought to you. You white people are the worst for shoplifting yet black people are the one followed around shops then they switched to buying online yet shoplifting has gone up
@@Troy-q6p Absolute rubbish
@@gilllarr9285 How? crime in the immigrants community's is way way higher than the natives, especially inthe african and asain gorups. Just look at london, birmingham, bradford, new york, paris, sweden ect ect. There is literalynot a single non_white majority area that isn't high crime, literally not a single one!!!!!!!!!!!! To disprove me please name an immigrants area youd like to live in.For that matter name a non white COUNTRY youd live in.
@ I used to get trolly push outs in the store I was working in, one of them were none white. In the first two weeks of starting in the store, I stopped 24 trollies. I believe you are racist, what’s any of this got to do with what country I want to live in?
My anxiety gets so so bad I can’t watch this anymore 😢
Same here i had to pause and gave myself a time 😢
Are you ok like why would someone stealing give you anxiety need and seeing it on RUclips please don’t make me laugh 😂😂😂😂

I know two English brothers who are expert shoplifters. They have never worked a day in their lives. They are perfectly healthy and can work but claim benefits. They live for their weekly payday to cash out their free money. One still lives with his 80yr old mum, and another lives off his hardworking gf who’s a single mum of 6 .
Just yesterday, the elder one (51) was caught stealing chocolates, shavers and coffee in Sainsbury’s. As we speak, he’s still in police custody today. A man who’s got grandkids .
And they bothered to arrest him? Did he steal over £200 worth of shavers?
@ apparently Sainsbury’s have been keeping an eye on him and he’s done it at the same store over 4 times . They have cctv footages of him shoplifting during those times.
You wacist monster. You can't call them neglish. That's wacist in englaza. You have to roundy-uppy to ewe-kay or bwitain to not offending the Arabs 😏
@ I said what I said! Come and beat me!
Two English petty thieves!
Embarrassed of your own kind?
This has been going on for years. Inthe 80s a NE gangs headed up by rose m would come the carlisle, threatening the shop staff with stanley knives and taking racks of clothes. The police would actually alert the shops the gang was in town.
