    He's right about the spacing on the rail slide rails I put mine just on the inside of the of the wheels. It creates less drag it's easier to pop off of s*** cuz they're closer together so it almost creates like a lip or you can sorry to have a rocker in between the rail and the side of your board the closer you put them to the edges of your bored the more you're going to get hung up on s*** trying to board slide. And also in the concave of your board is usually where they screw them into kind of you want it to where your bored is flat on the flat bottom after all that's what you're sliding on anyways so you got to think of that as well but yes I really appreciate that you mentioned that about the two inches because it's absolutely 100% makes a difference.

    • @costaricaBL

      I did 2" from the outside. It doesn't have to be exact, just leave some space so you can tilt the board over on the toe/heel side to do those boardslide hurricane combos 🤙🏻

    I just love how eggs look like! 😍 Thats wide as hell but I need wider deck too! I'm riding 9" Eagle Antihero with 55 classic ace's. Those are 9" too.. so I'm thinking 9.5" 9.75" or 10" egg. I don't do so much flips anymore, I like more on the ground type stuff.. Getting older and can't take hit so much anymore. Only 28 but feel like old man 😂 that Antihero Wheelbase is over 15 and i can't flip it right. 14.25 is so much more better!

      I feel you on that, I'm 41 and definitely hurt the next day a lot more when I fall now. I have so much fun on the 10" board, there is so much surface area to land on that it makes shuv its and just cruising around feel really cool.

      @@costaricaBL oh I would love 10" deck but money is so tight right now, can't get both trucks and board... deck cost 94.95€ on sale in Finland where I live 😅 Ridiculously expensive! I was thinking about that black 10" Curb Killer with that Jason Mask but I just realise that 9" ace trucks and 10" board has too big difference for me. 9.5" is 9.125" at the trucks so it's kinda perfect. And that 9.75" deck has 9.38" where trucks are. So those are my 2 options. I'm gonna go check those decks out tomorrow so first time seeing those live! 🤩

      @@RIPTurhaAKACryptidHunter Boards have been getting so expensive these last couple years especially the shaped decks but Ive been seeing a lot of sales lately so maybe you will find something at a good price. I wanted that 13.5” eggzilla board that Heroin makes but its like $200 just for the board, but they also stopped making it so thats probably why.

    Weird to watch other people slappy so differently. I’ve tried to edge out my slappies so I can get out of them or into another position easier but I end up completely on top of the curb every time getting pulled to the other side of the curb. Slappys are for the papa’s. Skating a small board but def gonna either set up my 9 new deal reissue or get another board with some big Indy or aces. Sticking with ventures for life on my street setups.

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  11 месяцев назад

      Slappys definitely feel easier on a bigger board with bigger trucks. Having smaller wheels help you mash over the curb easier too but if you get them too small makes it hard to stay locked in haha. I skate a small board too, I like to switch back and forth from my 10” to an 8” but the key to not slip over on 5050s is cross locking, atleast on the double sided curbs. I haven’t seen a New deal board in a long time, thats really cool!

    I get wheel bite sometimes on my curbkiller 5. I have 215 trucks. I don't have the inverted kingpin. The bite my might be a skill issue. 100 bushings.

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  10 месяцев назад +2

      Wheels might be too big, or risers can help. If your riding loose trucks that might cause it too until you get used to keeping it stable on landings. If you like your setup as it is you could always just put a little wax on the bottom of the board just above where the wheels are so they don't stick on the board 🤙🏻 Any time I skate bigger drops I almost always end up putting a little wax above the wheels to make sure I roll away when i land right.

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! It took a little while haha but I drew jagged cracked egg shaped lines first on the grip with a marker and then cut the pieces out with scissors. Then I just put everything back together but left little spaces in between the pieces. For the rest I used a paint pen and drew the white outlines and extra cracks to try and make it look more like an egg. Im not the best at doing grip but its fun to try.

  • @israelr3774

    I'm trying to go for the same setup. What do you think of adding risers?

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  Год назад +2

      Risers would be cool, its all your preference really. I set mine up super low with tiny wheels and no risers because it helps for slappys on curbs and popping the wheels over. Usually people add risers to make the board a little higher when they are getting wheel bite but those Heroin boards have little cut outs above the wheel wells so the wheels don’t even touch the board. Its pretty cool. I think if your going for bigger wheels the risers would work out perfect! 🤙🏻

      @costaricaBL  7 месяцев назад

      I miss read what you said and responded back so if you read that sorry for the confusion but I deleted it so I could answer you properly. If your running one rail on there that all depends what tricks your trying to do, personally I would put it on my heel side so I could do board slide to hurricane combos but thats just what I think is fun. Toe side would be better for tilting over to feeble grinds.

    what size wheels?

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  9 месяцев назад +1

      They are just some old worn down wheels I found from when I was younger and I decided to color them and make them look newer lol. They are probably around 40mm in this video. Now I wouldn’t be surprised if they have worn down to like 35mm or less. 🤣 a little too small.

      @@costaricaBL lol I got you 😂. Do you think 52s would work with this setup? I ordered a 10" heroin egg deck because this looks super fun. Currently skate a 8.5 heroin Aaron Wilson. Also what do the inverted kingpins do? Thanks 👍🏻

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@trey_dizzle416152's would probably be perfect. I liked the smaller wheels because it helps with popping over the curb with slappys and just feels fun having the board lower to the ground but the smaller also make it so you slip out of grinds more so I think your 52's are a good choice. Inverted kingpins are basically kingpins that are flipped upside down which makes sit lower in the trucks so they dont drag on tricks like feebles and smiths.

    What's an inverted kingpin

    • @costaricaBL
      @costaricaBL  10 месяцев назад

      An inverted kingpin is a kingpin that screws in backwards basically. Instead of the kingpin sticking out of the trucks and screwing the nut over the bushings you have a separate kingpin bolt that screws downward into the baseplate. This makes it so you don’t have the bolt sticking out so much when you tighten the kingpin. Hope that makes sense haha. A lot of times the kingpin will drag on the rail/ledge especially doing smiths and feebles so the inverted kingpin prevents that and helps you grind longer and smoother.
