Super Mario Bros Deluxe on Gameboy color was awesome. Not only did it have fun challenge modes, but I still remember, as a kid, beating the game and unlocking the star levels, which just replaced goonbas with buzzy beetles. And then beat the game again and had my mind completely blown when it unlocked the ENTIRE original Japanese sequel. In game it was called Super Mario for Super Players. And it was amazing
Square Enix releases games for one console- complains about low sales
Then releases the games exclusively to the Epic games store that no one uses-complains about low sales
Eventually releases those games on Steam at which point no one cares anymore- complains about low sales

The amount of money they ask you to pay for Star Citizen, you could just as easily go and ask Elon Musk to sell you an actual spaceship.

Things that cost money.
1) Building a engine for the game
2) persistence systems so when something is destroyed it stays there instead of assets unloading.
3) server meshing, creating seamless transitions without actually faking it.
Then you got
4) voice acting.
5) engineering
1100 employees vs what BSG 20.
Also needs to be hammered home 45 dollars for access at the low end and 90 at the high end.
All those "expensive ships" are being added into the game. The 890 jump an 800 dollar ship is purchasable in game with in game currency.

The engine they're using is literally a spaghetti cludge of old Crytek code, Amazon LY modules to add in network support, and now a bunch more proprietary code (so they can call it StarEngine) just to eek out nonfunctional AI, and 2-3 semi functional game loops. There's too much cope in the CIG-fan community. The ship sales is just the scum on the surface of the Cloud Imperium pond.

4:09 - I'm amazed that we've all heard the same rumors and myths at every school across the country without having internet.
When I was a kid there were landline phone numbers that connected to game noises from arcade franchises that kids would exchange and call. I recall listening to the arcade Pacman midi vividly. Pre Internet yet we all knew. Phone Phreaks actually had a great space for info exchange which is most likely where these numbers were first traded.

That's the first game I ever remember playing and watching my dad play. That was roughly in the mid 90's for me.
@@Gutslinger Arcade console version... I'm an 80's kid. There were only arcades when I recall these numbers circulating among my peers. The Atari and other gaming platforms came a bit later. The numbers may still have existed when the NES dropped but if so I am unaware.

Cyberpunk 2077 might have been an ok game had they sold it the way it is. The problem is that right up to release they marketed it as a completely different game and to this day the game they gave us is nothing like what they said. It's a linear game crammed into a big filler city. 90% of Night city has absolutely no reason for existing other than make you waste your time going from point A to point B.

All Square is doing is literally using any money they make back from their failures just to milk the Final Fantasy 7 remake games and for the next Kingdom Hearts. Also, they heavily market so called big games like FF7R and Forspoken and they end up failing hard, where games like Octopath Traveler 2 and Theatrhythm Final Bar Line barely got any marketing/advertising considering they are great games. Square chasing trends, taking risks and westernizing their games, going woke, and turning everything into an "action RPG" is why they have been failing badly. They have lost their fans, lost their Japanese spark, and keeping their games true to their roots. Them wanting to "improve the quality of their games" isn't going to help when they keep making unrealistic expectations. No matter what excuses they say, the end result for them will just be more of the same. Plus, they keep getting yanked at the neck by Sony's dog leash.

Blabs is being idiotic about the $20k hit thing. It doesn't matter if it's "just a joke." There are plenty of psychotic morons out there who might decide to take them up on it, no matter how tongue in cheek it is. It is a crime to offer money for someone to get disappeared.

Here's the thing: WE know that the whole upping the bounty thing was a joke, but there's a key difference between a guy putting out a bounty and a girl putting out a bounty, especially a girl on Only Fans. The girl might have some obsessed male fan out there who will do anything to impress her and could take her upping of the bounty seriously and do what he thinks will make her happy in an attempt to gain favor with her. I hope nothing like that occurs, but this "joke" from this girl has the potential to go very wrong.

Escape from Tarkov is unplayable. It's nothing but cheaters and hackers in there.
Like every multiplayer game, honestly. That's why I mostly keep to singleplayer games, even co-op is a rarity for me.
