Sadly the Eiyuden Chronicles tweet from Grummz was already invalidated before it was aired on Side Scrollers. Like Kirsche predicted the patch fixed some spelling and type setting errors but it didn't fix the main issue people are having with the localization.

Suffice to say, CDPR went straight onto my blacklist after that.

It was a warning for "Spam". When all I did was point out the false equivalency that Adam Kazinsky made comparing the lack of a 'police system' in Elden Ring, that 2077 didn't have at launch.
I made one post, talking about that. And apparently my one post was "spam".
And that was the time I got banned as well, right after 2077 launched.

I took it to "Steam support", and Valve basically gave me the 'old heave-ho' with the copy-pasta excuse:
"We do not go against the decisions of 3rd party hired moderator teams, or developers."
And that's when CDPR got a first class ticket to my blacklist.
It’s not out of realm of possibility for Craig to give Sessler an unreasonable charitable stance because of his wife. Craig has stated multiple times doing the show has affected his attitude towards people in general and his wife voiced her concerns of Craig being ornery. If this is the case, Craig needs to be able to have clear delineation between his professional social media life and his private life, as to not affect his attitude. But just as importantly, his wife should have awareness of the state of the world, it’s not the same as when she and Craig worked together like 15 or so years ago. There are significant forces at play, trying to change the foundation of our lives. If she would prefer to send her daughters to school and not have them come home as sons, it’s only responsible for her to acknowledge her husband is now ‘noticing’ things.
When a celebrity decides to quit X, we should start referring to it as "X-it Day" and celebrate. Happy X-it Day, Adam!
Remember Matt Parker & Trey Stone intentionally put some things in Team America for the sole intent of removing them knowing critics would have a fit. Essentially they wanted a scene to be 6 minutes so they made it 25 minutes long just so they could trim it back down to 6 as intended and make the censors/critics think they won.
Can't really do those sort of things with games because the before/after is so easy to get out and it looks more like caving than a strategic intent.
Use to really like Sessler back when I watched X-Play in high school. I remember seeing him in videos promoting the Friday the 13th game, and thinking it was cool to see him again.
It's feels kinda surreal seeing what a hate filled lunatic he is now.

I'm still surprised to this day nobody has brought up the fact the various non-red colored ketchups literally tasted different AND had a different texture. Something about the formula when they tossed in the food dye gave it an ever-so-slightly gritty texture. And that was infinitely worse than any color change.

On the airline refunds story, the loophole already exists for similar legislation. They get around it by cancelling after the refund period then using the refund to justify not offering alternative travel. Passengers then need to rebook at full late avalibility price, pay to move their tickets before the cancellation hits which voids any refund, or give up and go home. Even if everyone takes the last option and the airline needs to refund everyone without rebooking, it's cheaper to fly an empty plane to catch up with schedule than fly an entire planeload of passengers + luggage for free.
Airline: "I don't care if the weather is too rough to depart right now, we don't want to lose money, get going!"
Looking at this issue of Stellar Blade, and eastern games in general, this is classic bait-and-switch tactics. It's no different than pre-ordering a car with certain options, and when the car gets to the dealer, the consumer gets told, "Sorry, we don't have those options available for your car."
That being said, I have to ask: Do ratings even matter anymore? Particularly the ESRB ratings, like "Rated 'M' for Mature" or "Rated 'E' for Everyone." I ask this because I remember when movies had to first get the ratings they have from the MPAA, the Motion-Picture Association of America, where you have ratings like "Rated G - General Audiences" or "Rated PG - Parental Guidance is Suggested." I also remember the ratings that came on CDs 20 years ago, like "Parental Advisory -- Explicit" or "Parental Advisory -- Radio Edit." System of a Down even had an album titled, "Steal This Album!", in the same cover art style of a "Parental Advisory" sticker.
The point is, why is it that non-US game developers are allowed to get away with censorship of games, when games like GTA: San Andreas, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, and DOA Extreme Volleyball all had advisories and ratings on them? Even N64 game Conker's Bad Fur Day had a "Rated 'M' for Mature" rating on it back in the day.
Because, the point is, I am personally tired of all the Wokies and Twitter freaks losing their s**t over games like Stellar Blade, when a pre-sale rating would essentially silence them, since they couldn't complain about a game being properly rated and having a proper advisory. Let the people decide what they want to play, and let the market decide. And if the Wokies and Twitter freaks lose the ideological economic war, so be it.
Because at the end of the day, if the First Amendment is allowing pr0n games to be sold on the internet, like Hunniepop, then the First Amendment allows uncensored games like Stellar Blade to be imported and bought by US gamers. Period.
And if the Wokies and Twitter freaks don't like it, they can cry and ree as they cope and seethe while they get refills on their Copium meds.

I played Sleeping Dogs and it let me play as a golden statue. It was optional, but it didn't feel suitable for the game. It was also hilarious.
Some of the reason that people are excited for Stellar Blade is that it doesn't take itself too seriously like the last of us part Ii and actually lets you have fun and know you are playing a videogame.

I'm not with this group of lunatics on twitter that thinks it's somehow bad because she's too hot or some nonsense, but I'm almost not with this crowd that thinks it's going to be the best thing since sliced bread, _because_ she's hot. I bought into Palworld because of all the manufactured hype and it was... okay. It very clearly still needs work, has massive memory leak issues (steam deck totally freezes after playing it for around an hour), and the open world feels kinda empty. The game very much feels like an alpha, but if you went by hype impressions it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Stellar Blade is probably gonna be an alright game, but I highly doubt its going to stand the test of time, like dark souls or something, and its not going to single-handedly bring sexy women back to western games. Wish people would shut up about the drama and just give honest opinions about the game as a game.

Tolkien wrote the LotR too replace the long lost mythology of the English Isles. Components established inside his work has been heavily used other places because of that.

Not just Dark Souls, but fantasy as we know it today was heavily inspired by Lord of the Rings. The books came out before most modern fantasy fiction existed and it inspired many of the most popular fantasy media coming after it so much that it's pretty much the ancestor of most if not all modern fantasy. Even stuff that doesn't seem inspired by it will still have been inspired by things that were in turn inspired by Tolkien.
Conan came before LOTR and I think it has still à great influence on "swords and sorcery" medium and even pulp fiction in general.

The Hard R controversy does seem like a marketing masterstroke, but the most obvious answer is that it was just a random word used by non native speakers in a random way that 99% of native speakers wouldn't have noticed. The simple solution for Shift Up is to make it something different. Also Sony is the publisher so you wouldn't have Shift up refusing to change it based on the censorship argument. I total understand changing something that unintentionally caused offense, but you can't really give in to these people.
You have to say that it was the right call to change it because now there is another marketing beat and the hype for the game is building. I wouldn't be surprised if a company like Sony were bank rolling Kotaku to continue making stupid criticisms of their games to build hype.

Gotta say I rewatched the LotR Trillogy again after like near 10 years and the Fellowship is now my favourite, just the world building and character building that's done is insanely well done. When I first saw it Helms Deep was what was made the 2nd movie my favourite and I still love that part but everything in that movie is a little on hold until that happens whereas the first movie flows better.
The RotK was still great but never liked the ghost part and yeah it did end about 3 different times.
