  • We were thrilled to finally make it to the PHILIPPINES for the very first time and eat some INSANELY DELICIOUS foods on a CEBU PHILIPPINES FOOD TOUR with our good friends ‪@FoodandFootprints‬ We were so excited to make this video and share our FIRST IMPRESSIONS of the Philippines!
We originally planned to visit the Philippines in the spring of 2020, but the pandemic had other plans. For the longest time we waited for the Philippines to reopen were very happy when it finally did. We were of course most excited to try some local Cebu Philippines Street Food and our friends Greg and Jumi were happy to take us on a the local Cebu Filipino Food Tour.
It was a blast having a local show us some Philippines food and culture and we hope you enjoy this Cebu Food Trip as much as we did! Please let us know if we missed out on any delicious Cebu local foods, we’d love to go back for more. We cannot wait to share more of our Philippines travels with you!
Don't forget to check out Greg and Jumi's channel: ‪@FoodandFootprints‬
Just a note, this video was filmed over two days.

Pochero in Cebu is way different than the Pochero that we have in Manila. The Manila Pochero has thick tomato sauce with beans, garbanzos, plantains, french beans, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, chorizo and pork belly or chicken. The Cebu Pochero is what we call Nilagang baka or somewhat similar to Bulalo which is a beef bone marrow soup.

That is where I was stationed. I was there 1982 to 1983. I really had a lot of fun. When I would stay out in town, the Philippino's would bring the coconut by the house that I rented and open it right there. I also learned how to speak tagalog the language of the country.
