In this video, I went to Cebu, Philippines and tried three different buffet restaurants with different prices. They were all similarly themed international buffet, but their offerings were quite different. I have to say, I was happy with every one of them.

Appreciate the honesty. By Philippine standards, those prices are excessive given the quality of the food.
For the price range of these buffets, the reason their price is so high so as compared to the quality is because they mostly focus more on quantity rather than quality. mas mabilis maenganyo ang pinoy sa dami kesa sa quality, realtalk.

Hi Jimmy, the Purple dessert soup is called "Binignit". The famous Cebuano dish is traditionally made with glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk with various slices of sabá bananas, taro, ube, jack fruit, and sweet potato, among other ingredients. Also, the dish is traditionally served during Good Friday of Holy Week.
Some places in the Philippines have their own version of this dish as well.
Thought it was ginataan
@@ryanyu102same, just named differently. In Aklan, we call Ginataang Halo Halo as Eangkuga
But I think he missed to scoop some glutinous rice balls. All he’s eating are the sago pearls. It’s a shame coz the texture of the glutinous rice balls might be familiar to him as a Korean. It’s like a dessert type & soft tteokbokki.
@@ynnos5555 true but personally, glutinous rice balls and tteokbokki aren't really my cup of tea. While I like the tteokbokki sauce, not a big fan of the texture. So I would probs also gotten what he has gotten as well.
Nah, it's piccolo's blood
8:03 that purple dessert is called binignit in cebuano, in tagalog we call it ginatan or bilobilo. The puple color came from purple yam or ube, it has glutinous rice balls, banana saba, sweet potato, jackfruit, tapioca pearls, taro and cassava cooked in a sweetened coconut milk. There is a white version of it without the purple yam. It’s my favorite filipino dessert. This dessert is always available in Hyehwa-dong Seoul at the Philippine Sunday Market so whenever I crave for Filipino foods I just go there on Sunday.
I don't really care about the food, but I'm most envious about the fact he went there during Christmas, the best time to be in the Philippines.
Anyway, hope you had a good one, Tito Jimmy!
Hi Jimmy! The purple dessert is called "bilo bilo". It is a sweet sticky rice balls with fruits (sweet potatoes, sometimes banana, and tapioca pearls. They are not usually purple but if they put ube or food coloring, then it must be why. Hope this helps ya.
In Cebu it's called Binignit. The famous Cebuano dish is traditionally made with glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk with various slices of sabá bananas, taro, ube, jack fruit, and sweet potato, among other ingredients. Also, the dish is traditionally served during Good Friday of Holy Week.
Bilo2x originated in Cebu, the official name is Binignit. Luzoneros copied and renamed it. lol.
@@fkoff7649 Oh! Right, he was in Cebu. I am not aware in any way so that makes sense and thanks for pointing out my mistake.
@@eforecstatic9417 no prob. you're good, mate.
Exactly correct facts💯% "KALI"⚔ now commonly called as "Escrima/Arnis"⚔ also "Originated" in ❤CEBU☝ too. Luzoneros copied it😂 Gabriel Flash Elorde, Pacquiao, Donaire, Donnie Nietes, Mark Magsayo are all BisDak⚔🥊 Warriors⚔ There are ( ZERO ) boxing champions from Manila/Luzon. Really enjoyed the video seriously considering a trip to SE Asia folks seem nice
picollo blood is called ube bilo bilo. a purple yum flavor with a mixed of jackfruit, banana, sweet potato and some mochi texture balls also it has a clear boba called sago. bilo bilo is sweet because of coconut milk and milk also sugar.

Wanna hear Jimmy speak more chinese in his videos you're pronunciation is really good 🙂
You'll hear more haha but I need to practice more first 😅
Loving the shirt ❤
lol when Jimmy ignores the weird sushi kombos. We also have those in Europe but there is still some sashimi too. I recommend to still try the crispy tempura chicken sushi and smoked salmon sushi with teriyaki sauce on top. Yummy.
I really love the humor in describing the food. 😂
Hey Jimmy, wishing you quick success in learning Chinese. 好! 😊🎉
Go to Manila and try Spiral buffet in Sofitel Hotel…
i enjoy watching your videos.
Please go to Iloilo city and try LA PAZ BATCHOY. It's a traditional noodle dish that rich in flavour and the ingredients are superb!! You missed the opportunity to witness the festival there.
Damn, you were in Cebu! I've been following you for a while since I stumbled upon your Korean internet cafe video. Wish I could've met you in person since I live in Cebu. Anyway, very much enjoy your content! Hope you had a blast
Hello Jimmy, my in laws for Thanksgiving serve turkey and ham and I go for the ham everytime. They even make ham gravy in addition to turkey gravy where the ham gravy is a bit saltier and I think it tastes better too. I wish we had those kind of buffets in America because then they would be worth it. Most buffets if I can even find one near me are 15-20 something dollars and they serve like 10 main entress and a couple of desserts-so not worth it.
What a humor 😂 subscribed
Jimmy, how about doing hotel room reviews too?
i hope you tried different kinds of lechon in cebu
You should go to nustar there Buffett is nice too
Aw you have to go to Manila and try Spiral buffet!
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻I tried Viking buffet in Cebu and I think is great value and drinks wine and beer is included. But I tried the expensive buffet in Sofitel Manila and I was disappointed so much the lobster shrimp and seafood was overcooked and dry but the sushi and sashimi was delicious
I know I would have a humbling GREAT 🤣time restaurant hopping with you! Good memories great times, great times 🤣
That Lechon Kawaii and Lechon Baka was so hilarious! I'm kind of triggered they spelled my country name "Singaporean" wrong, I still prefer the cheapest buffet! looks super value for money!
But never ever order Laksa here unless you are ready to experience a huge dissappointment
Hey Jimmy! You definitely should try restaurants and food only available in CEBU. Danidoo Waffles, Dimsum Break, Proben(street food) and Sunburst(Local Chicken Diner). I'm flying to cebu next month just to have another taste of it😂
As someone who grew up in Cebu, I've always associated Sunburst with our local food scene. But recently, I discovered that it actually started in Iligan City in 1971 😆

I cracked when I heard "It looks like Piccolo's blood". Now I can't unsee that and probably will remember that for the rest of my life. I'd laugh whenever I see that dish and remember this vlog. Thank you.
I went to Cebu during the sinulog festival it is a very beautiful place to be.
When you go to Manila, try the Spiral Buffet and other buffets too.
Your VO is hella funny 😂😂
Not from the Philipines, but that soup is most likely Purple Yam/Sweet Potato/Ube. It's also served in Vietnam and China, but each have their own things added to it. In China, it's treated similar to Mung Bean/Red Bean soup. The Philipines is the only place I know that also has it as a jam.
In Cebu it's called Binignit. The famous Cebuano dessert dish is traditionally made with glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk with various slices of sabá bananas, taro, ube, jack fruit, and sweet potato, among other ingredients. Also, the dish is traditionally served during Good Friday of Holy Week.
It is a Cebuano food.
