- We are really excited to check out our next stop in the Philippines and share our FIRST IMPRESSIONS of BOHOL PHILIPPINES | ALONA Beach & PANGLAO Island while TRYING Filipino SEAFOOD! Bohol, Philippines is known for some incredible scenery like chocolate hills, tarsiers, and stunning beaches and we were really excited to check them all out.
We leave our friends Greg and Jumi @FoodandFootprints in Cebu as we take off to Panglao Island in Bohol, Philippines to our ultimate destination at Alona Beach where we got to spend a little bit over 24 hours enjoying a long holiday weekend with locals!
We even got to try out some new Filipino food, including seafood, and drink some delicious Calamansi Juice while escaping the hot sun on Panglao Island.

The Pinoy method is the calamansi you squeeze into the sauce (soy sauce, vinegar and chilli) and dip a piece of fish into the sauce

I love that stuffed fish! It’s called Pinaputok na Tilapia in Filipino. There are so many non-pork Filipino dishes that you can try out so you will definitely never go hungry here.
I just love it and it was absolutely delicious! So glad we got to try such delicious Filipino food 🙏

Ahh we love exploring the Philippines by trike, it’s always a bumpy and exciting adventure! We also love the diving and snorkelling there, it’s sad you guys ran out of time but often the way, so much world to see and so little time!

It was incredible! Honestly I'm thinking of trying to make the veggie stuffed fish at home! Filipino seafood options are beyond expectations!

Amazing beach, looked like a fun spot at night too. And even with the clouds that looked like a cracking sunset! The people you met all seemed so lovely and friendly 🙂I'm impressed with veggie stuffed fish, I suspect I would make a huge mess of it if I tried to do that at home! 😅

You must go to Dumaluan Beach..it is like Boracay version of Panglao Bohol. Only few minutes ride from Alona

So cool to see local life like this. Yes, the Philippines have tons of meals besides pork. Especially fish. Have you seen the recent video of Mark Wiens? He ate a mountain of oysters in the Philippines, and I love oysters.

Hi Gokce, you should try “fish kinilaw”, it’s freshly caught fish garnish with vinegar, tomatoes, ginger, black pepper & onions. You will love it for sure. Enjoy your island hopping. You guys rock! Take care!

Hi Gokce, veggie stuffed fish is so easy to make, simply cut onions, tomatoes & ginger into small pieces. Rub salt to fish & squeeze lemon over fish & add a pinch of black pepper. Put onions, tomatoes ginger into fish belly. I usually include the squeezed lemon & cut it into four pcs & place it in inside fish’ belly. You can either grill it, steam or bake. Should taste yummy😀. Have fun exploring our beautiful country. Hope you can go to Camiguin, Boracay, El Nido, & Coron as well. Take care!

It looks like a beautiful area to visit. That motorcycle tuk tuk thing looked like a fun ride. The drone footage was so smooth and loved the aerial view. There seemed to be a lot of fish to eat there - we aren't big fish eaters but seems like it would be a paradise for someone who loves eating it!
