"And you're 던" I can't with Billy ㅎㅎㅎㅎ so funny
😂
The motionless woman in white behind just keeps freaking me out😂😂😂
🧐 그분은 남자 아닌가요? ㅋㅋㅋ
and you are 던! omg I laughed so much at this !!!
me too. I even stopped and recorded it
I was listening to Park Hyo Shin earlier and his song 야생화 and many of the music lines ended with ~ㅆ던 and then Billy uploads this tutorial 😂 Great work as always Billy! Thank you.
Oh gosh I just love all the little jokes you tryna squeeze in. They made the lessons so much more comfortable to take in thank you so so much!
Really great lesson!
I am surprised at your detailed explanation again. Thanks.
i dont know how would i learn korean if wasnt for you 빌리 선생님, 감사합니다
3rd or 4th time Im coming back to this video because it has sooo many forms that I just can't seem to grasp!!!
I wish I could see the wavelength of my brain and how much I understood the first time I watched this compared to now
Can't even express how useful all these "abridged classes" are! Thank you so so much.
ㅋㅋㅋ 한국 사람도 설명하라고 하면 쉽지않다 ㅋㅋ
제일 좋은 방법은 작문 하는거 같아요
한글 써보세요 . 제가 맞나 봐드릴께요~~~~
안녕했습니다. 당신은 예뻤습니다.
I think of this pattern in the shower everyday 😂, thank you for uploading this Billy님. You're a lifesaver
Amazing, as always!
Who else directly clicked on the notification when Billy uploaded?
Me
The betters RUclips recommendations ever.
Thank you so much for this!!
Fantastic lesson. Much appreciated
Hi billy this video is really helpful
Learning is so fun with your Videos.
Thank you!
Thank you for these short, yet informative, videos.
I didn't understand videos on this channel when I was zero knowledge about the Korean language last year, *but now I realized that your videos are helpful for lower beginners, and above* ❤️
고마워요!!! ♥️
this class is amazing. bravo. 무차스 그라시아스 선생님
감사합니다!
Rewatching this after learning so much makes sooooooooo much sense now
Thank you Billy this helped me understand this grammar so much
omg i was reading my lesson about this and i couldn't understand a single thing until i came to this video😭 for real you're one of the best korean teachers out there. 정말 정말 고마워요
ive been struggling to understand 던데 no kidding for almost a month now and the amount of different explanations that I read, yours was literally 5 seconds long and you were done!
TTMIK에서 배우고 있는데다가 빌리 아저씨도 날 만이 도와줬어요
"And you're 던".... 오마이갓...
In English, we also say I think it was, but we also say I thought it was. So is the expression 하던 것 같아 ambiguous if 같았어 is never used (did you think it was that or do you think it was that?)
I remember I Watched this before but didn't take down notes and surprise surprise I dont know how to use it. Nonetheless this is prob one of my favorite tenses it makes so much sense
at first I thought he really teach in the cafe🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How to say "This is a book that I often use to learn Korean"
❤
한국어 발음이 네이티브 수준~ !
Thank you! For the 던데요 form, could it be replaced with ㅆ는데요 ? For example 안 좋아했는데요 instead of 안 좋아하던데요 ?
You can replace it, although the meaning/nuance changes.
I have a question about the part where it’s kinda like an upward intonation at the end of the sentence - how would these 2 sentences be different? They are both about the past right?
철수가 매운 음식을 안 좋아하던데요 vs 철수가 매운 음식을 안 좋아했는데요.
Thank you!!
I have a separate lesson about the regular 데 ending here: ruclips.net/video/c9XuElNZqoU/видео.html
when 았던 is used with an acrion verb
can the verb happened repeatedly as well? but no longer continues?
like 먹었던 음식
does that mean u eat those food not just once but habitually? but u no longer eat them?
지속성 없어요. 그냥 과거형.
I've watched this video alongside studying with the Korean Grammar in Use - Intermediate book, and it said that you can use past tense in front of 던데요, when referring to things that ended in the past 🤔 Can I assume it's really rare?
~던데(요) attaches to the Plain Form (not a standard verb stem), and Plain Form isn't only present tense. You can use past Plain Form if it matches the context. ruclips.net/video/F922EUtJAc0/видео.html
A line in a song I saw was "그토록 사랑하던 그 사람" and I would translate that as "that person that I loved so much". But I thought you use this only for an action that wasn't only done once. Is that a different usage here or is that just because it's basically poetry and just not the most natural thing to say?
"To love" doesn't mean 1 time.
6:37 scared the shxt out of me lol
좋은 수업 감사합니다. 그런데 '내가 살던 집'에 그 행동이 지금까지도 계속 되고 있을 수도 있다는 뉘앙스는 전혀 없다고 생각합니다. 았/었/을 넣으면 과거의 행동이 현재는 완전히 달라져 있다는 뉘앙스가 첨가된다는 식으로 설명하시는 것이 더 정확할 것 같아요. 감사합니다!
So using - ㅆ던 with action verbs is like turning an action verb into a "past progressive descriptive verb" or no?
If by "descriptive verb" you mean "adjective" then yes :)
@@GoBillyKorean - ahhh yes! Sorry if it was confusing. I'm trying to adopt more appropriate terms but I may mess em up occasionally lol. Thanks so much!!! 👍
철수가 한국 음식을 안 좋아한다던데요
Can it translate as he said he( did not) like the korean food . Not doesn't ?
철수가 한국 음식을 안 좋아 하던데요. i thought He did not seem to like the Korean food
철수가 한국 음식을 안 좋아 한다 던데요. he said " i dont like the korean food."
translate 철수 did not like the korean food.
철수 or someone says
I’ve seen the term 나왔다던 but shouldn’t it be 나왔던? I’m not sure why is “다” is retained in the first one ?
Not sure about the context, but it could be a combination of this form with a quoting form. I also have several videos about quoting forms on my channel :)
@@GoBillyKorean Oh okay, thank you! I will check those quoting forms videos. And oh, for context: “오늘 작업하다가 나왔다던 곡은 뭐예요?” I think it’s still a question about “the song that came out” (?), just not sure why the 다 is still there in 나왔다던.
@@d3mur3 Yes, it's a quoting form + 던. I recommend watching my full live stream about quoting forms :)
"다"means someone says~~
" 나왔다고 하던"
