    Doesn’t exactly apply to this lesson. But at what point did you stop translating in your head and just start to hear the words spoken. I’m not sure if I’m getting my question across correctly.

      You'll be able to just hear the words once you know the words. It's not something that suddenly happens. You'll first be able to hear only the words that you know really well. If you hear 김치 you know it's 김치 without thinking about it. With lots of time and practice it expands to more words, then full sentences, and then you can get the *gist* of a lot of things even if you don't know 100% of the words, and then you'll slowly start to hear everything as it is including the nuance.
