I watched this live and it was very frustrating. The police had so many opportunities to stop this vehicle and chose to let it get on the freeway and put innocent lives at risk. Seems like the police were enjoying this chase and wanted it to last as long as they could. You have a helicopter following them, you got the license plate number....there's no need for the cops to chase anyone like this on the highways. Not one single news anchor asked about those who were hit because the dog makes for a better story. Was sick to watch how the police let this situation get out of hand.

@@MissTrinidadFirst he endangered the dog by driving like a maniac around Houston with the pup unrestrained, then getting in an accident with him-THEN running away leaving his pup in the freeway!
The thing that upsets me the most about these chases is that the policies seem to be made to make matters worse. The cops could have pitted him so easily when he did those two u-turns on those narrow streets with no traffic around, but their policy requires that the police follow him until he gives up or crashes into innocent victims, as what happens here.
HPD's policy is that you need authorization from the field supervisor to conduct a PIT, unless otherwise designated a PIT-certified unit by dispatch. 😅
I hope all of the people in both of the other vehicles are okay. That really sucks having some idiot make sure you don't make it home after work. (positive thoughts for the poor pooch as well)
Worse, they get to deal with insurance (if they have it), and have to pay the deductible. Once a helicopter is on scene, the police really should just stay away. The police were ultra aggressive, and it escalated the chase to the point where citizens lives were in more danger because of the police.
@@middle-agedmacdonald2965 Go look up the term 'Police' as a Noun. THEN, go look the word 'police' as a VERB.
They ARE in fact SUPPOSED to catch thieves and those who endanger other people. This idiot driver was ALREADY SPEEDING, so he was ALREADY PUTTING OTHER PEOPLE IN DANGER. The Police were in fact doing their jobs.
Finally someone that cares about an actual than the fucking dog. Society is fucked
I'm glad someone in the comments mention the safety and well being for the general public on the road first before a K9.
@@terrancekelly5251 Thank you. :)
Poor pup, hope he is okay and somewhere safe and loved. So annoying when there are no updates.
That poor dog must have been terrified. I feel so bad for him, the owner just left him behind on a busy freeway without a single care for his well-being.
Foreals if he knew he was gone run he should have left the dog in car . That poor dog was running for his life too . Not know what was going on .
Oh that poor doggie!! I hope it finds a good home because this suspect certainly doesn't deserve the loyalty of his dog that followed him! I do hope everyone that was hit by the suspect was not hurt!
He's back with the family
before i finished the video i started reading the comments like wtf is everyone talking about a dog , wtf does a dog have to do with this chase, then i saw it lmaoo🤣🤣🤣
the people he crashed into, i hope they're ok. Also the poor dog.. the rage I felt seeing how that POS ran leaving the dog behing.
What a horrible person and dog owner. I do not know what is happening to Houston, but whatever it is it is not good.
Well with all the Californians moving to Texas is that the problem? You can take the boy out of California but you can’t take the Californian out of the boy.
Diversity is happening! Yay don't forget to be tolerant!
How is he a horrible dog owner? The fact that the dog was loyal and chased after him means he was treated well. An abused dog would probably just sit in the car.
@@KAT-dg6el I read the sentence as containing two different qualifiers: 1 horrible person (check) and 2 dog owner (maybe it's stolen too, unknown detail). Keep looking for that silver lining. Maybe one day you can find a good mans like heeyawm to take care of. He be good 2 u bb.

But what if that dog bites people like Joe biden's dog

I feel so bad for the dog 😞, but nobody is talking about the truck that was struck and all the other cars too.

Something about your dog witnessing you hit rock bottom, is gut wrenching.
Please! The dog drove that innocent young man to the brink of insanity. 🤕🤕🤕

@@JTGate1 Only for you, J T Gate One.
Innocent people on their way home from work were hit and could of died and the media could of cared less about them. Not one single news anchor asked about those who were hit because the dog makes for a better story. Was sick to watch how the police let this situation get out of hand.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DOG??????????????
Went to jail
Back with the family

Wow that dog followed him off the highway😢 I’m sure someone in Houston will adopt him after hearing about this story🙏🏼

He's just an outstanding citizen walking his dog.
You speak everything but the truth
CNN said this too!
@TrapAPMadeItSlap That comment was being sarcastic.
Dog's are man's best friend. I know there are a lot of humans out here suffering, but we need to do more to help these animals as well.
Human lives matter more!!
More like man's genetically programmed slaves.....they were selectively bred to serve/defend/protect/depend on us....the loyalty is just a side effect of that programming
Who brings their dog to a car theft? What was he going to say, "The dog made me do it"?
That poor dog doesn't deserve any of this.
Poor pup, hope you find happy home.
Mans best friend!! "Got your back buddy!!" Love it
I hope the dog is okay and finds a great foster family.
The expletives that came out of my mouth when I realized the dog in the description was the driver’s! Putting that dog in danger like that alone should be worth several years of jail time.
Poor dog. They need to tag animal abuse to the long list of charges.
I can't believe all of the cars not getting out of the way at the beginning of the video!

But what if a youth or a teen is injured during a PIT we can't have that!

Best wishes for the dog. The loyalty that dog showed, while it's owner betrayed him in every way. What a disgusting human being. 🙏 For a good owner who will treat the dog well and give it the good life it deserves.
Canines are ride or die. Their love & loyalty is purely unconditional. The suspects family has the pup.
How did the owner betray the dog?! 🤣🤣🥴

The cops could have pitted him so easily when he did those two u-turns on those narrow streets with no traffic around, but their policy requires that the police follow him until he gives up or crashes into innocent victims, as what happens here.
exactly he was not a very good driver to begin with, anyone can go fast in a straight line but he came to a crawl around corners
I don't understand why are we making things easy for criminals in this country, everything is turning upside down.
HPD's policy is that you need authorization from the field supervisor to conduct a PIT, unless otherwise designated a PIT-certified unit by dispatch. It would've been great if those officers were able to pit the guy, but it's likely they just didn't have that capacity.
It's a reasonable policy, just bad timing.
Dogs loyalty has no limits 😢
people think they're really cool by speeding in their cars and think that it's never going to happen I will always be safe this shows that
that is wrong and this is a perfect example
