If you do some rough math, the chase was about 40 minutes long. And he traveled about 44-49 miles. Using that, and what we know about the car, he was averaging about 185-187 mph in that pursuit. The fuel tank is 18.5 gallons, considering that the owner had it on full, 18.5gal/40min = 0.46 gal/min. Thinking about these numbers really puts into perspective of how impressive it was that he managed to stay composed for that long, and the rate in which the Hellcat engine swallowed fuel.
What? That math would equal out to an average speed of 73.5 mph. And If he was averaging your conclusion of 187 mph, he would have traveled 124 miles total in 40 minutes.

There’s a lot of factors. And it’s a news helicopter it doesn’t have the clearance that the PD has to stay close. So many factors.
