I still miss watching RC race.

I love that. In my experience most racer's numbers, across all disciplines, mean something special to them! My grandpa was 16yrs old when he entered his first modified stock car race in the 1950s, and he needed a number, so he picked 16, and there's been at least one member of my family with that number ever since, including me racing moto in the 2010s.
